One of the very popular ghats of Kashi, that attracts the visitors (ghat walkers) with its megestic fort, and spacious ghat area around. Most importantly the ghat area is too clean and the VDA deserves a special mention here. The vibe one can feel here is very spiritual and indescribable in words. One can easily soak in the ghat environment that offers many things including the distant view of Assi ghat on the right and up to Raj Ghat on the left. The reflection of lights on the river Ganges, during the evening hours is worth experiencing too.

One of the best ghat in the bank of the Ganga at Varanasi. Beautiful structure and wonderful beauty of the fort of Chet Singh. But this is very dark at night. More light should be implemented here.

Varanasi, also known as Banaras, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and is considered to be one of the holiest cities in India. The city is located on the banks of the river Ganges and is famous for its Ghats. The Ghats are a series of steps leading down to the river, and they are an integral part of the city's culture and heritage. There are around 80 Ghats in Varanasi, and they serve various purposes, from bathing and religious ceremonies to cremation rituals. The Varanasi Ghats are a fascinating place to visit, and they provide a glimpse into the ancient culture and traditions of the city. The Ghats are bustling with activity, and visitors can see locals performing various religious rituals and ceremonies. One of the most famous rituals is the Ganga Aarti, which takes place every evening at the Dashashwamedh Ghat. During the ceremony, priests perform a beautiful ritual involving fire, flowers, and incense, and it is an unforgettable experience to witness. The Ghats are also a popular place for tourists to take a boat ride on the Ganges River. Visitors can hire a boat and take a leisurely ride along the river, enjoying the scenic views of the Ghats and the city skyline. During the boat ride, visitors can also witness the famous Manikarnika Ghat, where cremation rituals are performed. This ghat is considered to be the holiest and most auspicious place for Hindus to be cremated, as it is believed that the ashes will bring liberation from the cycle of birth and death. Overall, the Varanasi Ghats are a must-visit for anyone traveling to India. They are a beautiful and vibrant place, steeped in tradition and culture. Visitors can learn about the ancient traditions of the city, witness stunning rituals, and enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the Ganges River.

On normal days it's a great place to hangout and relax on the ghat. And during Dev Dipavali, this ghat had an excellent laser show which was eye catching to watch. Entry is free. Plus this fort also has some tragic history and was considered haunted for many years, please search online on Wikipedia or somewhere else as I'm too tired to write it down.

This ghat is dominated by the imposing palace named after Maharaja Chet Singh, the illegitimate son of the first Maharaja of Banaras, Balwant Singh. Chet Singh managed to secure his succession by over Mahip Narayan Singh by bribing the Nawab of Awadh. Governor General Warren Hastings succeeded Chet Singh, resulting in a fierce battle here in 1781. Whilst the fighting ensued outside the palace, Chet Singh made his escape by climbing out of a window and lowering himself down using a makeshift rope of unraveled turbans tied together. The ghat was originally known as Khirki Ghat, and was renovated by the State Government in 1958.

One of the most beautiful ghat of banaras , visited there at the time of auspicious occasion of dev Deepawali this year and the chey Singh ghat was the centre for the laser show which was arranged by the government. The view at that night was spectacular, sharing some images of that time but they can’t do justice what I saw there in person.

This is one of the most important and historical significant ghat of Varanasi. This is just not a ghat once upon a time it was a fort of the king Chet Singh. He used this fort to fight with the british. The reflection of lights on the river Ganges, during the evening hours is worth experiencing too. Any people can come here any time and enjoy spirituality and happiness. There is no sufficient light at night. So the night vision is dark. The ghat is clean.

During my recent visit to Varanasi, I had the pleasure of exploring the magnificent Chet Singh Ghat and Fort, located in the enchanting locality of Shivala. As I embarked on this journey, I was captivated by the rich history and cultural significance that surrounded this landmark. The moment I laid my eyes on the stunning Chet Singh Fort, I was awe-struck by its grandeur and architectural brilliance. The fort told tales of the bygone era, with its formidable structure and intricate detailing. The panoramic views of the sacred Ganges from the fort's pinnacle were simply breathtaking. Adjacent to the fort, the Chet Singh Ghat exuded a serene and tranquil aura. The steps leading down to the river were adorned with vibrant colors and adorned with beautiful statues of deities. Watching the pilgrims taking a holy dip in the sacred waters and performing their rituals was a sight to behold. Immersing myself in the spiritual vibes and the historical significance of Chet Singh Ghat and Fort was an unforgettable experience. Visit this hidden gem in Shivala, Varanasi, and you will be transported to a different era, filled with wonder and a deep appreciation for India's rich cultural heritage.

Varanasi.. The place of God people who are in the last stages of their life believe that that if they die in Varanasi they will reach load shiva and swargalok as per Hindu sastra.. One of those 80 ghats Chet Singh ghat is also full of beauty of river Ganga.. Good old sculpture.. Boat surfing.. Love this place.. In one word I love Varanasi.. You can easily reach from Varanasi Railway Station.. By auto or toto but in my suggestion reach Dasawamedh ghat then you hire a boat and tell them to make complete visit of all ghat although it's not possible to visit 80 ghats at a time and to describe the story of all ghat they ( boat driver) will give you all details and describe the story.. I with my family enjoyed our Varanasi Tour..

The most iconic ghats out of all the ghats in Varanasi. It's a huge one including an ancient palace and a Shiva temple inside it. Must visit. During Dev Deepawali the very famous laser show happens in this ghat only.

Varanasi, also known as Kashi or Benaras, is a spiritual and cultural hub. The ghats along the banks of the holy River Ganges are a major attraction. They are steps leading to the river where pilgrims perform sacred rituals, ceremonies, and take holy dips. The evening Ganga Aarti (ritual worship of the river) is a captivating experience.

Nestled along the Ganges, Chet Singh Ghat in Varanasi is a captivating blend of history and tranquility. Named after Raja Chet Singh, a prominent figure in the 18th century, the ghat holds a unique historical significance. Raja Chet Singh, a wealthy merchant, played a crucial role during the time of British rule. Today, the ghat stands as a testament to the city's rich past. The architecture and serenity of Chet Singh Ghat offer a peaceful escape from the bustling Varanasi streets. A visit here not only unveils the beauty of the Ganges but also provides a glimpse into Varanasi's storied history.

Chet Singh Ghar is based on the name of King of Varanasi Raja Chet Singh during British rule. When you visit this ghat you can also saw Chet Singh Fort which was build by Raja Chet Singh and after defeated by Britishers Chet Singh ran away after that for long time this fort was in British custody after independence due to lack of maintenance it transformed into ruins .

I know some year before this place was not well know. People used to come at ghat but due to lack of light and cleanliness they don't prefer to stay for s moment at this place. Now this is going to be a famous because of its space and cleanliness on this ghat near Bank of river Ganga.
