Located just at the banks of Dashwashwamedh Ghat. It is a very good place to visit. Often people miss this place when visiting Varanasi. Ticket price is Rs 25 per person. Do not miss the laser show inside. It is one of the best thing to see. Also you can find the observatory at the roof top. You can see a great view of Ganga river from the roof. Also there is a small museum and a small Jantar-mantar inside. Photography is allowed inside the observatory and museum.

This virtual museum is a fantastic place if you wish to learn more about Varanasi in a more creative and fun way. I highly recommend you visit this place with your kids as they'll have a great time. Tickets can be purchased at the gate, either using a barcode scanner or from the counter. The counter charges 5rs extra per ticket. The ticket includes admission to the virtual museum, jantar mantar located on the roof and a short film about The history of the Ganga river, which is 20 mins long. I had an excellent time learning more about Varanasi.

Must visit this place to know about Kashi it's history its culture it's historic valur it's lifestyle it's sprituality and faith it's way of life it's art and so much more. Ticket fare is completely worth to pay as you get to know so much about Kashi through Laser show, Audio Show and many other digital techno place. It looks like an ancient place which has been converted into onservatory. Terrace of this place has resemblence to jantar mantar small version where you may watch SAMAY YANTRA #Samrat_Yantra & all. I have so much to explain but it would be better you visit yourself. on the way to Rajendra Ghat or Man Mandir ghat. ❣️🌺❣️❣️🌺🌺👏❣️❣️❣️❣️

Man Singh Observatory is a masonry observatory situated in the Man Mandir Ghat(or Someshwar Ghat). It is one of the five existing observatories in India. Also, one of the last constructions of the ‘Astronomical Stone Age’. It was originally constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh(Man Singh), the King of Jaipur in 1710. While the Mahal was built in the 16th Century, it was restored in 1911.

This place is the most underrated place of Varanasi I think. Never heard about it anywhere. It is just beside the Dasaswamedh Ghat, Banaras. It is well maintained. One cannot think from outside gate that how beautiful this place is.. How to reach here: Take the Godowlia fourway and come straight towards "Brihaspati Temple". Ask anyone one for the way to take boats. Or people, who are providing that trip service will guide to the road. It is a small lane. The opening time for this observatory id 8am - 5pm. They have lasor show here regarding the "Ganga Utpatti". We watched just the 3nd part of the show. Some artifacts are also there. You can feel mesmerized with the rajasthani type palace design☺. They have devices set to measure sun direction and all other scaling devices on the terris of this beautiful observatory. Main attractions- 1.Lasor show 2.Light room, where lights are decorated in the form of tree. 3.ofcourse the terris. You may get to tale pictures of many boat standing on the bank of the river. I request you to do visit this place. Entry fee -Rs25 per head.

Highly underated place. Ticket price is just 25 per person (₹20 if you pay online). You get to experience the culture, tradition and history of Varanasi. And the Projector Show which is shown every hour is just awesome. You also get a beautiful panoramic view of River Ganga and it's ghats from roof which is breathtaking. And the best part is hardly there is any crowd as not much people know about it.

Man Singh Observatory is a masonry observatory situated in the Man Mandir Ghat(or Someshwar Ghat). It is one of the five existing observatories in India. While the Mahal was built in the 16th Century, it was restored in 1911. The infrastructure is a mixture of Rajput(Rajasthani) and Mughal architectural styles. The eastern façade of the building faces the river Ganga. Previously working as an information center, this edifice has been digitalized and it now functions as a specialized museum by the government in 2019. It consists of audiovisuals, interactive art, music, 3D show, light show, etc. The construction of a virtual museum is complete by now. This place comes under Indian Archaeological Department. With an entry fee of just 25 INR, it gives you a virtual tour of Varanasi, its lifestyle, culture, and architecture.

The Varanasi Jantar Mantar stands quietly, a testament to ancient astronomical wisdom. Opposite the revered Dashashwamedh Ghat, this lesser-known observatory, crafted by Maharaja Jai Singh II, whispers tales of celestial mastery. Amidst Varanasi's spiritual fervor, its stone structures chronicle the timeless pursuit of understanding the heavens, a silent witness to cosmic rhythms in the heart of India's spiritual capital.

Not many people know that Varanasi has it's own Jantar Mantar. This beautiful palace cum observatory lies right next to the most popular ghat of Varanasi, the Dashashwamedh Ghat. The observatory houses sundials of various types, which give you quite the accurate idea of time. Past the sundials, the rooftop looks over the picturesque Ganga and it's Maan Mandir Ghat bustling with tourists and devotees from all over the world. The first floor is a museum with the aim of making one aware of the rich cultural heritage of Varanasi. They also project a 20 minutes lazer show telling the story of the Ganga descending on Earth.

If you're planning a trip to Banaras, there's one place you absolutely must visit. I recently went there and had a truly fantastic experience. For a nominal fee of Rs. 20 per person, you can book tickets online to witness fascinating shows that showcase Hindu mythology and culture. Additionally, you'll get a glimpse of the streets and alleys of Banaras, as well as its picturesque ghats. But that's not all - the highlight of the visit is the breathtaking view of Dashashwamedh Ghat from the top of the Mahal. Trust me, it's an experience you won't regret!

A very good place but needs a lot of refinement. The audio visual displays are very good with a language selection. The movie experience is also very good, however having English subtitles would have been better. The AC was very inadequate for such big spaces and the seating arrangements should have had chairs. One can offer virtual lamps to the Ganga with lovely messages along with this offering. Overall a good place to visit. This place has no rest rooms

A perfect epitome of science and astronomy, Jantar Mantar is an observatory which was used in earlier times to measure local time, altitude, declination of sun, planets and stars, and eclipses. This historical attraction in Varanasi was established by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur in the year 1737. He built five such observatories; the rest are in the cities of Delhi, Jaipur, Ujjain and Mathura. The Jantar Mantar in Varanasi is located on the rooftop of Man Mahal. While on a sightseeing tour of this renowned tourist site in Varanasi, you can expect to see various instruments that were used for different calculations. Disha Yantra, Digansha Yantra, Dhruva Yantra, Prakash Yantra, Ram Yantra, Krantivritta Yantra, and Samrat Yantra are popular instruments in this observatory. The unique and fascinating architecture makes Jantar Mantar one of the top places of tourist interest in Varanasi for people of all ages, especially kids. In the history of Jantar Mantar, Maharaja Jai Singh II was also touted as an astronomer and a great admirer of science and astronomy. In the 18th century, few scholars were sent to different countries by Jai Singh. The purpose of sending these scholars was to study the construction, technology and design of the observatories. On their return, Jai Singh laid the foundation of five observatories in different regions - Delhi, Jaipur, Mathura, Varanasi and Ujjain. Opening & Closing Timings For tourists, Jantar Mantar Observatory remains open all days, from Sunday to Saturday. One can visit the place on any day from 6 am to 5 pm.
