visited many times and felt the positivity of this ghat. must visit place in varanasi. history- This ghat is one of the five major pilgrimages or ghats located on the banks of the Ganges, which is mentioned in the Matsya Purana. It is also considered as the first and main Vishnutirtha of Kashi. It is mentioned in the context of this ghat that when Vishnu first came to Kashi after being mounted on Garuda on the orders of Shiva, then he first placed his feet at this place. It is noteworthy that the place where Vishnu first placed his feet and washed in the Ganges was considered as the Padodaka Tirtha. It is believed that Vishnu himself had installed his idol at the ghat. The greatest importance of Adikeshavghat was in the Gahadval period. The Gahadval rulers often used to donate gold, land and other donations to the Brahmins after bathing at this ghat.

Not popular and maintained like other ghats, and doesn't have much to see but the landscape is beautiful. You can buy fish here during the morning hours.

It is last or starting ghat of VARANASI. 🤩 Must visit this most peaceful ghat of Varanasi. 😇 The best thing about this ghat is that it is near the place where the Varuna river meets with the Ganges. 😊 And vibe of this ghat is to totally different from all other ghat of the Ganges in Varanasi.

This is considered the first one among the 84 ghats of Varanasi. It is believed that lord Vishnu stepped here and as the proof you can see the Charan Paduka in the temple. Out of crowds of the Ghats you can find some peace and tranquility around here.

"If there is discussion about the Ganga ghats of Varanasi, then everything is meaningless if this ghat is not discussed, because the first idol of Lord Vishnu and Lord Aditya was installed on this ghat. Those looking for complete peace come here, there is no noise here! Situated on the banks of calm Ganga. You can enjoy boating here..!" ---Hemant Sharma

Great Place.A significant historical importance rests here. It is said to be the starting point for the Kashi the true ancientb and oldest city. It also houses the oldest of temples in Kashi aka Benaras. Just a few metres away from the ghat one can also enjoy the lush green and peaceful campus of Krishnamurti Foundation and a site of the Archaeological Survey of India...
