I was here on my business trip to Varanasi. Short one day trip. Couldn't spend much time to explore the property. However nice and green property. Good hospitable staff at all levels. Nice renovated rooms. Walls are too thin and you can hear the chatter from the next room. Linen was fresh, well maintained room and bathrooms. Lovely buffet breakfast with indoor and outdoor seating arrangement. Lot of greenery and place to stroll around. Hotel is approx 30 mins from the airport.

It is worth 4.5! Wonderful and excellent staffs! The hotel lobby is gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable but the towels are getting old and mattresses a bit too stiff. The pool is very clean. Food is very good in the buffets. Would come back any day.

This hotel offers calm within the chaos in a city like Varanasi. The food at the restaurant is great. The rooms are good. Definitely worth staying at when you're in Banaras.

We recently visited with family and friends for a vacation. It is unquestionably among the greatest hotels in Varanasi's cantonment region. The vast campus was serene and quiet, which was wonderfully restorative. It truly is fantastic. Rooms are really tidy and clean. Services are excellent overall. I'd adore to come back.

Great place to stay. We went there for a wedding and the staff was too helpful to get us the discounted rooms to stay peacefully. I would recommend it to everyone visiting Varanasi. The breakfast was tasty and they even agreed to take the breakfast to our rooms. Truly impressed by the service I received.

One of the best properties in Varanasi! When we got back to our room, there was a little surprise from the hotel to soak our feet and relax after a long and tiring day when we've had to walk a lot. The property is huge and you must try the satvik thali at one of their restaurants. The breakfast with live flute music and local delicacies was totally amazing :)

Probably one of the best hotels in Varanasi. Exceptional service. One thing that stands out is the service and hospitality. It is centrally located in the cantonment area of Varanasi. It has a sprawling campus consisting of a lawn tennis court, badminton court, swimming pool, lavish lawns, banquet halls, a couple of amazing restaurants, a clothing/souvenir shop, spa and comfortable rooms. The rooms are very clean with amazing amenities from Forest Essentials. I personally loved the wooden cabinet holding the tea kettle and safe. The linen was soft and made you feel good. The food was very very good, especially the local chaats and street food, which are very difficult to replicate in terms of flavours. The food was top notch whether it was the breakfast spread or lunch and dinner. The sausages could've been better though. I loved walking around the property during the evenings. So quiet and peaceful. There's literally no need for recommendations to stay here. Just go ahead blindly.

The staff at Hotel Taj were extremely professional and attentive to our needs throughout the event. They made sure that everything ran smoothly, from the arrangement of the venue to the catering services. The food served at the ceremony was exquisite, and our guests couldn't stop praising the delicious cuisine. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better venue for my ring ceremony. Hotel Taj exceeded my expectations in every way, making it a memorable and special day for us. I highly recommend this hotel for any special event, and I'm grateful for the exceptional photography that captured the essence of the day so beautifully.

It's more of heritage type hotel.. rooms are equipped with modern amenities. Staff behavior is one of the best in industry. Location is perfect for all kind of movement.

We went to Chowk restaurant for a dinner. It was such a poor experience. The service was slow. We had to repeatedly ask for hot water. The food was very salty and some dishes were almost inedible. It was such a poor experience. Expected better after paying such a huge bill.

This was one of our worst experience staying in Taj Ganges, Varanasi. The staffs in the restaurant seems to be treating south Indians who don't speak and understand HINDI differently from non South indians and FOREIGNERS. For some strange reasons they don't want to treat and serve every one equally, but giving more preferences and importance to guests from other countries and also people who speak and converse in HINDi. ThIs is not the place for south indians to come and stay no matter how much you pay. This hotel is a mess and the staffs especially in the restaurant doesn't even know what is basics of customer service and how to treat and look at all the hotel guests equally. I suggest to all my south indian friends and families, DONT CHOOSE TAJ GANGES Varanasi, they wil embarass you to the core and will make you feel for choosing this hotel. This is my own personal experience and I will never ever choose TAJ hotels for my stay in any part of the world . The only good feedback is for the person in the travel desk who helped us with all our queries patiently and assisting us wherever required, but the rest of the service is well below average and it sucks. Please re consider if you choose TAJ hotels for your stay any where. They don't care about humanity and certain set of people are always being treated differently and very unprofessionally and their only way to mitigate the mess is with a simple apology wirh folded hands. Once or twice can accept as mistakes and can also apologize, but its their repeated behaviour and they simply don't want to change their attitude and rude behaviour. They don't know the meaning of basic humanity , basic courtesy as to how to treat their own hotel guests who are paying so much to stay in this so called posh /5 star rated hotel. Absolute waste of money and you will only end up being repeatedly embarrassed and that for very petty things.

I was there in December 2019. I booked this hotel due to higher reviews ratings. Check in wait time was longer as they were providing sit down check in and had only two check in counters. I really wanted to get my room and get some rest and waited for almost 30 minutes for my number to come and realized that it may be another 30 minutes. Upon my request they gave me a room. Room was not looking like what I saw online while booking it. I checked it again and expressed my concerns. First I was advised that that’s the room I booked and upon showing my reservation confirmation with room type, they apologized for their error and shifted to room that I paid for. GM of the hotel offered courtesy dinner on hotel that I accepted with a note that it was not necessary. They have a restaurant for customers and bring food on their table which is really very nice. They lack in keeping up in this service. Restaurant management was not proper. My daughter ordered food and twice it was served to others. Since we were getting late, we had eat whatever was available ( as some of the items they were making on order). There should have been consistency in their service- either your provide or you do not provide so that there is no confusion and no response expectations. We are looking for proper service during our stay without any expectations for. Please honour your contact.

We had an amazing experience at the 5-star hotel. Ritishna and Rakesh provided impeccable service, and Chef Nishant’s culinary creations were divine. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations, making it a truly memorable stay.

I stayed at Taj Ganges, and I’m impressed! It’s conveniently located, and my suite was lovely. Shoutout to Mr. Rashid for his excellent service at the Varuna restaurant. Chef Maqbool and his team prepared some fantastic meals over the the course of our stay.

Location is slightly away from the town centre but this helps ensure a quieter environment. Staff were extremely helpful and flexible, allowing us a late check-out without cost, and helping us figure out train connections. Food was ok though the restaurant decor is a bit outdated.

After a not so positive experience at another hotel in Varanasi, the Taj was like a different world. As a woman travelling alone, the Taj really takes care and even has rooms especially for women travelling alone which have a doorbell camera. I would like to say a special thank you to Sarita who was so kind and attentive. The rooms are very comfortable and the food was delicious - amazing breakfast with lots of local and international choices. Thank you!!

Everything was best in this hotel. My family enjoyed a lot. My daughter got sick suddenly post midnight and the hotel staff took us to hospital. I would like to thank the staff. My son has severe nuts allergy, I am happy that the in room food menu specifies allergic ingredients usage.

Taj seems to love saying NO to guests and in Varanasi they don't want to serve local guests. I always loved going there but not any more after hearing 4 NOs on my anniversary. 1) They can't serve soup to one teetotaller in bar when other in the group are enjoying drinks 2) The Next door restaurant will not serve because it's time for them to close. 3) The other restaurant "chowk" won't serve in open area to outside guests at 3:30pm 4) The pool side won't serve to outside guests, only to those staying in room. It's difficult to have soup and some private moments in Taj !

An excellent property located in the middle of cities confusion and maddening traffic jams. Once inside, the high standards of hospitality relaxes and rejuvenates the guests. With vastness of lawns ,a nice swimming pool and gorgeous meals in the Chowk restaurant validates your selection of the hotel. The concierge services are very economical and makes your visit a memory of lifetime.

A lovely hotel in the cantonment area of Varanasi city. The hotel sits in a huge area (possibly over 100 acres) with lot of greenery and lawns. The main building itself is tiny compared to the open space around it. You can see many birds, including peacocks, in the garden early in the morning. The rooms are reasonably sized (not large like in luxury hotels) but functional and comfortable. Amenities are also adequate. We stayed in “Superior”room. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The food at the restaurant was very good, with pretty good spread for the buffet. We had breakfast and lunch at the multi cuisine restaurant - Chowk (we did not try the the Indian restaurant - Varuna). The service was extremely good at the restaurant with very friendly staff.

Stayed with my mother and toddler twins. Rooms and service are good. Restaurant is impervious to a kid friendly service. Any special request for breakfast/dinner is ignored- the restaurant staff behave as if we are asking for too much ( freebies maybe?). my kids just kept waiting for their pizza or eggs for 30 plus Minutes. By the time it came, they lost interest in the meal. Similar experiences across 4 meals. Pathetic service from Taj, bunch of arrogant staff.

Everything about the hotel was good except for the size of room. Charging 13K per day, the room is so cramped hardly any room to move, one small table with one chair is provided in the room. Food and service was good. I feel it's not worth the money.

Great property surrounded by lush greenery, manicured lawns dotted with huge mango trees very clean rooms. The food was a delight to our taste buds.Extra polite and helpful staff, Special mention here for young Muskan who went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable throughout our stay.

Excellent location and property..The adjacent palace grounds are a treat. F&B great service and efficient handling of any issues. The rooms are a little congested for the Taj standards. Overall, very nice experience

The service standard of Taj is unbeatable. Everyone in the staff goes out of the way to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Its a beautiful property. Special thanks to the floor manager for the attention. Location is around 6 km from the ghats, and usually taxi/auto was not a problem. Rooms are bit small but confortable, well appointed and clean Breakfast had mostly good items, few not so great. Just a little issue i somehow felt discriminated against by the breakfast buffet staff. I saw many guests being asked if they need anything else, but never was I asked. Somehow the expression of an older staff member were also not that polite.

We stayed at Taj Ganges for 3 days this month. The experience, like always, was memorable. Would like to thank all the staff for being so thoughtful and kind to us. The morning walks around the gardens were wonderful, listening to classical music and having peacocks for company. Thank you Taj for making our stay comfortable notwithstanding the minor hiccup. You excel in hospitality and warmth.

Recently we had been there for vacation with family & friends. Certainly it is one of the best hotels in Varanasi (cantonment area). I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Ganges Taj in Varanasi, and I must say that it was an absolutely exceptional experience. Nestled along the banks of the sacred River Ganges, this hotel offers a perfect blend of opulence, comfort, and tranquility. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by the warm and hospitable staff who made me feel right at home. The interior decor exudes elegance, with a tasteful fusion of traditional Indian motifs and modern amenities. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the stunning chandeliers to the beautiful artwork adorning the walls. My room was a haven of luxury, featuring plush furnishings, a comfortable bed, and a breathtaking view of the river. The amenities provided were top-notch, including a well-stocked minibar, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a spacious bathroom with luxurious toiletries. One of the highlights of my stay was the exquisite dining experience. The hotel's restaurants offer a delectable range of cuisine, from authentic Indian delicacies to international dishes prepared by skilled chefs. The rooftop restaurant, in particular, offers panoramic views of the Ganges and the city, creating a truly memorable dining atmosphere. Hotel Ganges Taj also boasts an impressive range of facilities, including a well-equipped fitness center, and a serene swimming pool. The staff's attention to guests' needs and their commitment to providing exceptional service truly sets this hotel apart.

We had a two night stay at the property. The bed linen and rooms were clean. The room service quick. Special mention to AYUSH from room service for taking good care and ensuring our order was delivered to us timely. The pool requires cleaning as we could see moss on the floor. Great stay !!
