You can get a good meal at any good restaurant in Varanasi but this is an experience where the food plays a small part. The à la carte menu is pretty good. Three course dinner came was around 6k but it is totally worth the money. The ambience, service, food quality and taste everything is great. We took a boat to the Hotel and were seated in the Darbhanga restaurant, the servers were on the toes. Must try.

My stay at Brijrama hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were amazing and friendly. They were attentive and helped with every query I had. The complimentary boat ride to the evening ceremony was an added bonus to my stay. Additionally, I loved the personal touches and thought put into every room. The location of the hotel was superb. The music played in the morning and night in the hotel is magnificent. Words cannot describe how much I loved staying at this hotel. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Varanasi.

Location location location! Brijrama palace what an incredible experience the palace it self is so beautiful, unique and historic and right on the Ganga, the facilities are awesome. The staff are very friendly and attentive everyone simply cannot do enough for you world class! Food was incredible I enjoyed breakfast hightea and dinner all delicious. Rooftop yoga at sunrise is a must, the morning and evening entertainment was a delight to watch. The spa was very relaxing and henna tattoo was the icing on the cake. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it worth every penny .

The staff treated us like royalty - even though we were late for our brunch reservation and arrived as the restaurant was closing as we'd gotten lost. (The high level of the Ganga/Ganges normal for September means only approaching the hotel by Varanasi's winding pedestrian-only alleyways instead of the hotel's boat service.) For those not staying at the hotel, like us, you need to make a reservation ahead of time and spend a minimum of 1000 INR. The food was amazing and the service from Sankal and team five-star from start to finish. An oasis of calm and beauty in the chaos that is Varanasi.

With traveling to over 60 countries, this is the best hotel we have ever visited. All of the staff members were very helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

I had an exceptional experience at this hotel. The service was top-notch in every aspect. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly attentive and courteous. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The attention to detail in every interaction, whether it was at the front desk, in the restaurant, or during housekeeping, truly stood out. I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the entire team. It's clear that they take pride in providing exceptional service to their guests. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and delightful stay.

One of the oldest haveli on the banks of Ganga, now converted to a hotel. Has one of the oldest elevators of India! Well refurbed while maintaing the old charm (the artificial plants were a bit of a letdown though). Tolerable food- no non-vegetarian or alcohol is permitted here.

The BrijRama Palace is a jewel rising on the banks of the Mother Ganges in Varanasi. The hotel is a peaceful and stunningly beautiful haven amid the clamor of the Old City. The 200 year old building is exquisitely restored, and the rooms are designed with modern comfort in mind. However, as with any place in our world, what is most important are the humans who reside there. The BrijRama Palace has retained a group of amazing people from the Varanasi area to serve as ambassadors to their complex, timeless and many-storied city. We had the great pleasure of meeting Ravi, who works in the restaurant of the BrijRama Palace. Ravi seems to be there most days, from morning to evening, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with his other excellent colleagues. Ravi was instrumental in making our stay at the BrijRama a wonderful and memorable experience. From his warm and welcoming smile to his willingness to provide a descriptive gateway into the foods of his region as well as samples of those foods, Ravi was an exemplary and outstanding ambassador to the Old City of Varanasi. We thank the BrijRama Palace for an extraordinary and memorable experience, and we extend our very special thanks to Ravi!

This stunning hotel is located in Varanasi city on the banks of the River Ganga. This hotel is opulent. They also provide a pickup and delivery service. The meal is excellent, and the rooms are nicely designed. The entire staff is courteous, amiable, and always willing to assist.

A very comfortable place to stay. There is boat service provided by the staff at all times. The chef(s) make amazing food. Staff is very cordial and helpful. The hotel helped provide us with a guide for heritage walk, temple Darshan, shopping etc. A very helpful and knowledgeable guide. We had a memorable stay at Brij Rama. Thank you Brij Rama Team.

I had a wonderful time at the Hotel. It's located right on the ghat and offers a seamless boat service to and fro. The staff is well versed in Hindi and English. The hotel offers great views of the Ganga. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The service here is very fast and polite. They really take good care of all the guests. The food is very tasty. Overall we had a great time.

The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, and the on-site dining was a delightful culinary experience. WE CAME TO SPEND OUR "25 WEDDING ANNIVERSARY" AND HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PROPERTY. The food out here is awfully tasteless. So is the service, several reminders have to be given to the staff for the order placed. Seriously a lot needs to be done for an improved on all fronts. It's an absolute nonsense to come out here to celebrate an important event. Our 2 guest had a severe stomach upset & loose motion. The food quality may make you sick. Certain staff are totally ill mannered, arrogant and rude.

Possibly one of the best locations and places to stay in banaras… the staff was perfectly pleasant and helped us along. We received a warm welcome and the stay involves a lot of activities throughout the day. The rooms because of its vintage structure are a bit small as compared to 5 star standards… other than the location and the food albeit expensive was to our liking.

The place is located on the banks of the river Ganga and the decor is very aesthetically pleasing if you are into antiques. We didn’t stay at the hotel. My review is for the hi-tea experience… I would say it was an absolute waste of our time and money. They charged us close to $100 (7000rs) for one hour limited hi-tea experience. The menu had a few mediocre sandwiches, a few store bought (Haldirams brand) savory snacks, packaged tea bags, masala chai, thandai and paan. It is a limited one hour experience. Pluses: 1. The ambience is good. You are seated on the terrace with beautiful views of Ganga and Varanasi. 2. The tea was good, served in a kulhad. Thandai had different flavour options. 3. Staff is courteous and nice Minuses: 1. Not a good value for money. I would recommend staying instead of hi-tea 2. We had a pathetic after-experience. The hotel is not accessible by car, we had our suitcases with us and those we dragged through the streets of Varanasi because the hotel staff didn’t want to take us on their boat to the other end of the ghat. This was a really horrible experience and left a very sour taste in my mouth. A 5 star hotel, couldn’t be courteous and considerate enough to drop their guests at a place where the cars are accessible. Absolutely disappointed with that.

It is a really beautiful palace if you have an eye for architecture, especially the ancient one. The staff is professional, helpful and most importantly prompt in providing services or solving queries. Situated at the banks of Darbhanga Ghat, it is one of the oldest man-made structures in the city (as I heard from local shopkeepers). You will surely enjoy the hospitality here. Food quality is acceptable. They also have Yoga sessions and massage services.

The hotel is a beautiful property. Staff are respectful and helpful. The extras like yoga, dance performance, massage are welcome. Food is vegetarian and no alcohol is served. The negatives are that it is difficult to get in and out of the hotel. The steps down to the boat that takes you to the road and high and difficult to climb up and down. There is only one restaurant and it cannot accommodate all the guests so if you do get a table you are trapped and forced to wait a while.

Brij Rama We selected Brij Rama over Taj because of the unique approach over water to reach the property. However we were in for a surprise when we found out that the boats are not operating due to increase in the water level of the Ganges river. It was indeed a major disappointment as the road to go out or get into the hotel is just toooo pathetic. It’s through a super busy and crowded market area of Banaras and then through a narrow lane that passes through food shops, people’s houses and lot of filth. I don’t know why it’s so dirty. I feel the hotel should have informed us that there are chances of the boats being shut in this season. The hotel by itself is really good. But because of this experience of reaching it by foot the start was not good. Staff is smiling all the time with their hands folded, really ready to help. The breakfast buffet spread is scrumptious, and each item is very well made and tasty. The waiters are very prompt. We have also eaten ala carte here and everything we ordered was very tasty. The desserts are out of the world for sure. The hotel arranges for car pick and we also needed wheel chairs for our elderly parents, this service though at a premium price just like the hotel is a good prompt one. The terrace overlooking the Ganges is beautiful, must see the sun rise from here. We are in the maharaja suite, which definitely suits its name. Very well made, with a superb interior, spacious seating area and details taken care of. The only one reason we are unhappy is the dirty walk we have to go through each time we want to go in or out of the hotel.

BrijRama Palace, which stands on the banks of Darbhanga Ghat, is one of the oldest man-made structures in the city and is considered to be luxury hotel in Kashi. One can see the influence of the Maratha Dynasty that was in power during the construction of the palace. This is 210-year-old palace

A luxury hotel at Chausath ghat with few restaurants inside. One has to make a reservation in advance for having food in a restaurant. Well maintained and the food in ‘the Ganges’ restaurant is good.
