A good place to stay neas Assi Ghat Location: Hotel is situated next to famous Assi Ghat, only 5 min walk. This is the biggest plus point to select this place to stay near the banks of Ganges Service: Service was satisfactory. One has to follow up after calling for any room service Food: Did not order much from the restaurant, as there are a lot of eateries near to the hotel and the Ghat. But tried tea/coffee, which was served nicely. Cleanliness: four star to the cleanliness, could have been better. Staff: Staff was really helpful and proactive to help you in case you need any assistance. Price: little overpriced as per the hotel facilities. Overall, a good place to stay if you need a place near the banks of Ganges

We have always stayed at Haifa during all our visits to Varanasi. The service was very good but this time when we travelled to Varanasi in January and stayed at Haifa for one week, the experience was a very bad one. It was chilling cold and there was no hot water in the bathrooms, they used to switch off the hot water geyser. We had to call at the reception several times for them to switch it on and that also for merely 15minutes. The restaurant has degraded completely, there was no one to attend to us early in the morning, when the owner happened to come after a long, he used to take the orders and still the food took very long to be served. One day a so-called waiter took our order, he noted it very well in front of us but when the food was served, it was a completely different one. When asked about it, he lied that this is what we had ordered. We had to ask him to bring the chit of paper and check again in front of us; then he accepted what he had done. We had booked 2 rooms and there was supposed to be a kettle in each room, infortunately we were asked to manage with one. The prices of the rooms have gone up but the service has gone completely down. We have been very disappointed because earlier it was a real pleasure staying at Hotel Haifa; the staff was pleasant, the waiters were very friendly and well-mannered. Unfortunately this is no longer the case

Only go for this Hotel if you cannot find anything else at this location. FYI, I stayed here for one night. (Thank God) Reasons- 1) Not worth the money. The hotel will charge you 3500/- for a single day occupancy which is not worth it. 2) The room is very small with no ventilation. 3) The washroom sink was leaking water. 4) Even though I confirmed before if the TV was working, which the owner agreed to. But once I went into the room and found it be not, even after multiple complaints at the reception the issue was not received. 5) The Wi-Fi isn't on backup so there's a lot of ON & OFF situation which makes working on Laptop impossible. 6) The charging port is far away from the bed, so keep that in mind.

We stayed at the hotel from 12 th March morning to 13th March 11am check out. Since we had an early train arrival, hotel allowed us an early check-in of about 3 hrs from their usual check in time which is 1pm. The room tariff was Rs. 2800 and the Room no was 106. The room was pretty small but we adjusted to it.. The only pros was: Early check-in The cons were: No cold drinking water Room did not have any pegs, washroom had. I mean they expect us to hang our clothes in the washroom. No toiletries provided TV did not have the recharge and when we complained they got the recharge done but hardly any channels were subscribed so it was of no use. Wi fi doesn't work near the bed and when we complaint they said that it works in the lobby area and not in the room..I mean seriously they expect us to sit with the door open. Also the intercom is not beside the bed so we have to get up everytime from the bed to place the order. I guess the person who was there all the time was the owner, and I must say he is very arrogant. After so many problems, all he had to say was that we should forget all this and instead should have obliged that he gave us an early check in.. All in all a pathetic experience.. You would love the hotel from outside and for its location but it's not worth the price.

Worst hotel to live in, horrible rooms, bad ACs, when at Assi ghat, Varanasi. Pathetic room service. Horrible tea, endless issues... Staffs are lazy. Worst, owners switch off electricity to the AC to save money thats if you're going to stay indoor whole day, especially if on a longer stay. Bad food in their restaurant. Room service/cleaning is not provided everyday, you have to tell them to clean up. And cleaning up is also pathetic. Jokers like these are fooling people bec of prime location, claiming it's a 3 star hotel. My arse 3 star hotel. It's worst than a normal delux hotel without any star.

Was staying in the Hotel during Durga Puja in October 2023. The hotel is located very near to Assi Ghat. The rooms are big but not properly maintained. The AC was not working properly, there was no cable connection hence the TV was just a show piece.

This hotel is taken care by a father & son & an accountant with few service boys. Stay is good. Room is clean & have an in house restaurant. 2 mins walk to Assi Ghat. The elder person who is in charge doesn't have manners at all. Since we had to check out in the morning, we went to clear the bill of food that was left there was a difference of 30 rs which they had billed as a water bottle which we never took. We told the old man that there maybe some mistake as whole day we were not there & we are sure we didn't get extra water. It's not about the 30 rs but the way the old man behaved with us was horrible. He made us feel that we were thieves. He shouted at his staff, abused them, used slang & told them he will cut the money from their salary. We have never seen such a behavior. The poor fellows were listening quietly. He was shouting at another customer coz they used the washroom & he has to clean the washroom again. It may be the customer mistake but this behavior is not expected from an old man who should be matured enough & runs a hotel. It was a good stay until this incident while check out..

Highly recommend this place, price was great for the quality of the room. We were especially happy with the firm non spring mattress. Other types of beds are also available, if thatโ€™s important to you. 1 minute walk to the Ganges river, that main entry point where pujas are done. Veg restaurant in hotel, which is convenient. They also have eggs available. Staff was great, very helpful, and multiple people spoke English well, so that was helpful for us. They also arranged us a driver for when it was time to leave. Bathroom was clean, hot water shower, and tissue available. Easily able to sleep at night, as itโ€™s not on a super busy street, so less street noise. A+ thank you!

I had a truly awful experience here. I heard this hotel had been good many years ago, but now it is super run down and just downright sketchy. This is more of a 2 star hotel first of all. The owner is very kind and was very apologetic and tried to help us, but I think in the end, this hotel should not be open for guests. The locals know it as the notorious hotel with bad food. Travelers know it as a nightmare. The rooms all have severe mold, there are dust mites everywhere and I really felt like I was in a jail cell. One of the men that worked there also really creeped me out, he was flirting with me the whole time and it was uncomfortable.

We visited Varanasi for 3 days, we checked in this hotel on 02nd May 2023, for 3 days but the behaviour of the night staff as well as woner Mr. Mishra's was very bad, bed cover was dirty and not washed poperly., rooms covered with spider net, TV was not working, so we change the hotel in next day morning. So, our sugession is never board in this hotel.

Very disappointed by the lack of cleanliness. It made for a rough landing. Itโ€™s actually concerning and not appropriate for the cost of the rooms. There are many other reviews that say the same thing, so why is this problem not fixed? EDIT: the owners were very apologetic and went above and beyond to accommodate our group with clean blankets, heaters and deeper cleaning. We very much appreciated this and it made for a much better stay. Still I canโ€™t recommend this hotel until they keep better standards.

Very bad people. At 8 they ask when to leave at 9 they call up to vacate on time. Old man is money minded. Though we paid them in full while check in. Over all bad behaviour. They only know they and their property and their money. They dnt know what is hospitality. We had to chk out and stay somewhere else for another day.

My experience what to say stayed for three days there. No response on anything. Aircondition system owners keep control with them, if they want to off air co dition they off at their own will. Once asked to change my bedsheets twice no response. My room charges were 3360 a day but experience of staying was worst. There were lizards in room. No rodent control in rooms. And staff is poor. After i left and changed the hotel. My advice to owners please dont keep you reception like a good hotel keep it normal, what we need is good room, good service as we are paying.

Best option in Varanasi for a reasonable price. The location is perfect and the room, the service and the food they serve in the restaurant is 20/10. Highly recommended ๐Ÿ˜Š.

If you wanted to stay close to the Ghats, especially Assi, and wanted a place that is right on the main road and is very reasonably priced, look no further. Hotel Ganges View (always the first choice!) had no rooms available, hence this choice. Cabs will take you right up to the doorstep. The chef is excellent, and will modify orders to your liking, and even cook up off-menu suggestions. The AC works, the lift works, the hot water works. But if you want AC AND hot water, you are in trouble, because someone from the main desk will come, turn one off and turn the other on. This is a very peculiar energy saving arrangement for which rather elaborate electrical wiring has been done. This was the one constant irritation. Otherwise, this hotel is an excellent one, wonderfully located, with a truly delightful kitchen. The staff are all very courteous and helpful, and will arrange taxis for airport dropoffs and pickups. Laundry service is good, but make sure you keep track of what goes out and comes in. For the price, the room was good, and had an electric kettle. This place is about 240 m from Assi Ghat, and is surrounded by all kinds of shops and autos/cabs.

Absolutely horrible. Unnecessarily overpriced and poor facilities. Nothing like shown in the picture. The staff is very unfriendly. Towels were used as doormat for the bathroom, so I don't know if the same were being washed and repeated as bath towels. Never recommending this to anyone. The TV didn't work and didn't get corrected even after repeated reminders. The water facility for hot water was also made available after many reminders. Not a pleasant stay.

I stayed for 2 nights. We were 2 persons. They gave only 1 towel. The room is pitch dark if you donโ€™t put on lights even during daytime. No geyser, they have solar system for hot water which works only in daytime after 10/11 am but no hot water after 2/3 pm. Intercom phone wasnโ€™t working in the room so even for a cup of tea we had to come down to reception. They couldnโ€™t even try to fix the phone. Lift not working. AC was stopped from outside without even informing us. When asked about AC the aged owner became angry why are we asking for AC in mid November. I have travelled throughout India & partly abroad, never saw such ill mannered owner of a decent looking hotel. Food quality average but bit costly. Room size good though. I stayed at 104 & FYI please check your room carefully before finalising the stay. The reception guy is good & helpful to a limited extent. Location of hotel is somewhat good but explore the riverside options once before taking this hotel. Be careful of the Papaji owner of the hotel, you can be scolded if you ask for hot water or AC or intercom or any facility which he doesnโ€™t like ๐Ÿ˜„

The administration is diligent. The staffs are courteous. The room service is quick and good. The hotel restaurant management is timely, hygienic and qualitatively satisfying. In 2016, I had a one month stay at Hotel Haifa. Now in 2022, I just had a two days stay. My overall experience is that Hotel Haifa has improved perfectly within an expected time frame. Kind regards!

Worst hotel in Varansi , over priced , rotten food , bed bugs , no service , you call for breakfast but get it by dinner , not even power backup for your ACโ€™s you pay 5000 but donโ€™t even get a toilet soap.

Worst place to stay, there is no intercom available, according to the price rooms seemed very pathetic. Please invest some more and get a good hotel.

We stayed here for a day, the location is good and hotel is decent. The staff was less or was on leave that time hence most of the times services were delayed. Price range is on higher side but services are average. They provide parking and is very near to Assi ghat so we opted for it. Overall it was an average experience.

  • 2/5 Vashisth K. S. 1 year ago on Google
The place is good. It's walking distance to the ghatt. The staff helpful and polite, specially Mr. Bhutt and Apurv, who will help you with any of your queries and provide you with the best of advices. However, do confirm your room prices at check-in itself. I had booked room at a convened price and at check out, I was footed an extra of 600 INR per night. I did mention that to the Manager that he might be making an error, but he gave a lame excuse. Anyways, otherwise this is a great hotel to be and a very helpful staff.
