After staying in many hostels. I decided to try Moustache, Varanasi. Last I stayed at Moustache was in Jaipur. And I was extremely disappointed by their service and behaviour there. But nothing special I got from this property. They had their tap running in main entrance lobby for like an hour. There was no electricity, forget about AC in AC hours, we were not able to get some air from fan too. We understand that there can be chances that these things come up. But major issue was, we informed a guy at reception that we might continue our stay tomorrow. He told us that price may change tomorrow as it is weekend. We said to him we do not have any issue with this, but please let us know when you are booking near 100%. But in the morning he told us your check out time is near we do not have bed for you, please leave. When we told him we asked you yesterday to let us know so that we can confirm our extension. He just said I was busy and it was not my duty. My friend was having some serious health issue, yet we were just thrown out of the property in such a harsh weather. Will never recommend Moustache to anyone.

They blast music all day so it's hard to relax during the peak heat of the day. On one occasion, the AC wasn't turned on for the night making for a sweaty sleep. And often, you'll hear people chatting in the common areas until 2am so if you're looking for quality sleep, I'd recommend booking a private room elsewhere. Nice staff but sometime you just want a reprieve from the hecticness of India - which is not to be found here.

I stayed at place for 3 days. Some of the things that we should know before booking, no matter how hot the weather, ac can run in night from 9 pm to 7 am and 12 pm to 4 pm only. The food at hostel is very expensive as compared to market and quality is bad, only thing I can recommend is aloo prantha which is expensive but good. Most of staff are OK but couple of them are helpful. Overall, I would not recommend this hostel in summer or autumn and otherwise too this hostel is run as a business to maximize profit rather than providing experience

Friendly vibes, great Ambiance, open area to chit chat with co-hostelers so I would definitely recommend Youngsters and those who love to interact with a crowd of different cultures and age groups to choose this place. Though they have refurbished the house and converted it into a beautiful place which you will get to know as soon as you enter. Decorated walls with mandala art and colorful hangings made this place even more beautiful.

Loved this hostel, staff is very welcoming and friendly, booked a mixed dorm, it was clean and nice. Hostel location is perfect, just walking distance from Assi Ghat and lots of good cafés nearby. Common area of hostel has friendly international vibes, I was able to meet fellow traveler around the world, it was amazing and most memorable moment and being a solo traveler getting the right vibe is most important thing and I am very with my stay here. I would definitely recommend this place.

Stayed at this place in a female dorm for 2 nights in peak summers. AC had timings Hot & cold water availability Clean toilets, rooms and sheets They had beer in their kitchen Food was average Tariff was solo traveller friendly Staff was cooperative Ambience was nice Location is epic Cold Drinking water available easily Bunk beds were too high though. Luggage locker available but we have to put our own locks. No wardrobe/cupboard available. No table in rooms Common area was very nice with beds and cushions and fans Variety of books available and games too. Overall a fun visit! Pro tip: for food, go out towards Assi.. you can get a hearty Indian meal (and healthy too) within 100 bucks there at any time of the day.

Good for solo travellers... budget bunks as low as Rs. 250 for Non AC... cleanliness is good both in the rooms and in shared washrooms... shared water dispensers available... don't expect any other service in this budget... overall an unique experience and recommended for backpackers...

Yash is such a friendly guy. Helped me by booking my ticket and provided me with recommendations Were some noisy people in the room, so perhaps that's worth controlling. But other than that it was nice. Locations good. And staff friendly.

The overall experience was amazing. They have really vibrant common area and terrace to chill and relax. The staff is helpful. Location is safe as it is in the resendential area and is equidistant from all the places you would want to visit in Varanasi. The only feedback or suggestion would be to improve on the quality of the room provided.

Not a very welcoming place. I have come here twice, solo and with my friends and found the staff unwelcoming. The guy at reception give you a list of rules and “don’ts” like you are in a school hostel and ask for full payment before hand. It felt very rude and prejudiced. The cafe on the rooftop is nice but the guy running it, Kaka ji, is rude. He declined services specifically to us and continued serving other guest. The washroom very unclean and open to all non guests too. There were no handwash soap as well in at least three of the washrooms. We did not like out stay here.

The worst hostel I ever stayed. The staff is also staying in dormetry and they come to dorm and go every now and then. Making all lights on and making all kind of noise. I couldn't get a proper sleep from 11 pm to 5 am..finally I got out hostel by 6pm without sleep.today I have to drive 6 hours. Sleeping in unreserved coach of train was far better than this. Avoid this hostel.

I have barely posted reviews on google but this one really calls for an amazing one. This was my first ever hostel stay and I have to say that it was pretty amazing. Just the positive vibes out of this place are enough to pack your bags and stay here but the wonderful hosts, I stayed there for 12 nights and the place was always so clean, cheerful and peaceful. made a lot of new friends . The food is pretty amazing too and the common areas are neat and tidy. The washrooms were cleaned every now and then. But when in Varanasi , I highly recommend living here. It’s walkable from assi ghat and is minutes away from cafes, restaurant and clubs. Would definitely be back!!

Moustache Varanasi holds a happy place in my heart. I had one of the coolest experience in the hostel and as well as Varanasi. The ambience and vibe check is perfect, located near one of the most prominent Ghats of Varanasi. I will definitely recommend this hostel to Solo travelers and group travelers.

Wonderful experience. Very nice vibes compare to other few hostels I stayed. Walking distance from assi ghat & main road. Modern area but at very proximity to the old lanes. So good fusion stay in new area & roam around old one. Service is also good. Taste of food can be little improved.

One of the best stay in Varanasi, with good rooms and roof top dining and resting facility with a good collection novel books. The plus point the Assi Ghat is at walkable distance from this stay, around 3-4 minutes of normal stride....One will surely enjoy the company of fellow tourists during evening party at roof top...

We booked a private room, the room is spacious and clean but there are fire ants all over the bed, in the cupboards and washroom. Staff is rude except for a few people(Ajay and female cook in the kitchen) when told the people at reception about the fire ants, they were least bothered and said we can’t do anything about it. They didn’t clean the dustbins before giving the rooms to us. Staff shuts the washroom from inside while cleaning it. Worst experience ever!

Situated in a very good location unlike other hostels where it's hard to find them in confusing lanes. Rooms were clean and reading lights, fan and charging points for all the beds. The washroom condition was okay as long as you don't litter it with your own trash.

Very near to Assi Ghat, still a very peaceful location, staff were helping, good vibes. Hostel cost wise very reasonable. Infrastructure needs update and renovation. One thing was good, they didn't allowed any outsiders footwear. Food costs are extremely high with no taste,i ordered chilli paneer and they cooked it in ketchup so. Room wise we had a unique experience, here we were 2 friends so I had booked 2 bunk, but was given one double bunk bed.

They dont change the bedsheets after a guest slept in there. We checked in two times ( one time double bedroom and one time single bed dorm) Both times the beds were totally disgusting. Stains, hairs and crumbs. One time can happen but TWO times is just unacceptable. The staff is just too lazy to clean the beds. Also, the bathrooms are not really clean and they dont turn on the ac at the promised times. This hostel really has to work on their hygene. Otherwise I wouldnt recommend staying here...

Good Hostel with good staff. You can have snacks, breakfast, soft drinks etc. You will get a dom bed. It is very near to assi ghar. By walk it will take 5 mins. Bunker bed you will get with affordable price. Ac works on schedule time. And main part is enjoying together in common areas with all traverse and tourists. Nice place to stay. Good Vibes.

In a room of 14 there was one AC not working properly when it was 45 degrees outside. Refill of water can and all remained an issue. The higher rating is because of the vibe at the rooftop, but the management really needs to look into the basics. Rest, staff and everything is great. Just leaving this review for the management to introspect and better.

Value for money hostel. The crowd is always good here. The beds were comfortable and the washrooms were clean enough. On the second floor you can have a chill time with other guests where you are served both food and soft drinks. Vikesh bhaiya handles the front desk and is very helpful. You can always count on him for good recommendations around the city for sightings and food.

I stayed at Moustache Varanasi in early January and it was a lovely episode in my memories. The hostel has a welcoming environment and everyone from the staff was super sweet and chivalrous. I’ve lost count of the gems I met there and became friends with. All in all, it was an 11/10 experience and I’d recommend the Moustache hostel to everyone who’d like to explore the Mystical city that Banaras is.

Never ever go to this place. It would have been my first experience to stay in a dormatory system in India. Staying in Dormatory in Europe is a different experience. Staff is pathetic they do not care about the guest. They claim to have a parking spot but they don't. I had to park my cars beside the park in front their property. When I reached no one answered the call. I slept in my car untill they allow me to get in. The kids working on top floor are best except that guy who writes everything on the sheet. Highly disrespectful people. I would never recommend them nor would like to stay there. They have their own rules and they don't want to share it at all.

Great hostel to stay for solo travelling. It's near Assi ghat .30-40 mins from Varanasi junction. I stayed in AC Dom with attached bathroom. Very cozy environment

This place is very close to assi ghat , Dorms are clean . Staff is very co operative My two days stay at this place was really awesome . AC running hours are in control of staff ( i love the way they save electricity) It will be very helpful for traveller if they follow dorms tips posted on doors .

It's located very close to assi ghat and has a good view also. The shared rooms are quite good for the price charged. They don't have any visiting area, visitors are not allowed to go past the reception and local residents are not allowed to book Or check in. So keep these things in mind before inviting someone there and better to plan meetings out somewhere.

Standard dorms, clean and relatively well maintained, bathrooms relatively clean and with hot water. There’s music on the rooftop everyday, but it usually stops at around 10pm. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is in a quiet street which is great after a day in the busy streets of Varanasi

Bathroom facilities were poor. There was just 2 bathroom (that too common bathroom) one small and one big for 4 rooms on each floor. Now, every room there are 8 bunk beds, so for 32 people , 2 Bathroom is not sufficient. Also there were never handwash present in the bathroom. Also, bathroom was just beside the girls room which sometimes makes it uncomfortable for both boys and girls. AC : They switched off AC between 7 am to 1 pm and again from 4 pm to 9 pm which becomes difficult for person staying in top floor during the day in extremely hot whether. Rooms were very small. And they have accommodated 8 bunk beds in that small room. Apart from bed, there is no extra space in the room. Food were a very costly as per the standard of the hostel. Quality of the food is also not upto the mark. Also, they continuously call you post your stay asking to give them good reviews online which is quite annoying. I guess that's why they have managed to get so many good reviews.

It's a typical backpackers hostel and you will like or dislike this place depending on the nature of your visit in Banaras. If you want to stay near Assi ghat, then it's a good place to stay as to location but if you are one of those people that wants to stay near the Kashi temple then, it might be a little far. I have stayed in better places with more amenities and in lesser price than this place. I was put in girl's dormt but then there was no proper wardrobe and one has to bring there own locks for the structure that is given to keep one's luggage. The common area is great but then one has to suffer through the night due to loud music that goes on till 3 am in the morning. Again, if you are one of those folks that love to chat, sing and have fun till early mornings, you will love this place but for me I had to visit ghat at 5 am, so it was a little disturbing. The staff is really sweet and helpful. So, kudos to them.

If you are planning to stay in Varanasi this is definitely a must place so stay. The dormitory is really comfortable, the shower is hot and the rooftop is the best place to meet knew people drinking a beer or a tea. But the best part to staying here is the staff, they are really friendly! One special thank to Yashi, who made us feel home since the first moment that we met (his also a really good guide!).

😠 Very unsafe place. I made the booking in advance and payment was also done. As soon as i reached after 18 hours of travel, i was denied the room saying the specific room is blocked and not available. The staff was very rude. The room was not ready even by 2:30 for checkin time of 1:00 pm. The staff...
