Rooftop view is the best and is what you will miss the most after checkout. Budget friendly and Located in walking distance from the Dashashwamedh ghat and the Kashi Vishwanath temple Gate no. 2 . Owners are also very nice. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality. I Totally recommend this place.. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This place is awesome. I promise that whenever I go to Varanasi, I will stay at this place. I was there for 7 days in a single bedroom. I was nervous at the beginning, but Aunty Ji, Didi, and both Bhaiya comfort me to settle down in this new place. They guided me every day. Shiva Lodge is basically their home and they have 7-8 rooms for the guests. Room prices are cheap compared to other places. They provided me with very neat and clean service. They have a common bathroom for each floor but don't worry it is well furnished and very clean. There is a very beautiful rooftop from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Ganga and sunrise. Clean and Cosy! Auspiciously great place for devoted Hindus as Maa Vairaahi Shaktipeeth is right next door. Unfortunately, entering and exiting the lodge during daytime is sometimes difficult due to long queues from the crowded temple next door. Stayed here for 2nights. Only Airtel network works here. Wifi is also a little unreliable. Best part of my stay was their gentle dog Sheru! The hosts are very welcoming and treat you like family. Please note: for all hotels near the ghat, you will have to walk a kilometer with your luggage as taxis are not allowed beyond Girjaghar Crossing. Porters with Wheelchairs are available at the crossing for those with mobility needs.

The place is no nonsense. Not at all hotels like homestay. The family lives on the ground floor and they have rented out small rooms on other floors. The owners are very kind and nice people. The place is in small lanes but that is what Banaras is.. there is a temple outside so it is difficult to leave the place in the morning. They also have a dog so a plus point there. Washrooms are shared but very clean. They have a small terrace- Must go. You can see Ganga from here. Right next to Ghat.

The trip was very good ...and Shiva lodge is awesome 👍..the view from top of Shiva lodge is outstanding...I can't explain..you guys go and stay in Shiva lodge top floor and see the view of ganga ghat ..And didi is very good 😊❤️..lots of love for didi ❤️

I have Experienced an Authentic Indian Hospitality with Added Assurance of Safety & Hygiene. Without a doubt my favorite place to stay. We stayed during our time in Varanasi! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by this lovely family they made us feel like home, they are very friendly, and extremely supportive. Can't wait to go back next year.

It was my first visit to Varanasi. We stayed at Shiva Lodge for 2 days. It was a great experience. The place to stay is also very good and the behavior of the people here is also very good. The room we stayed in was also very clean. A good view of the Ganges is available from the rooftop. And the rent is not too high. Overall great experience.

Absolutely wonderful accommodation. Clean. Hot water with good pressure. There is a place where it's possible to dry the clothes. It's also very safe. Good internet. The house is beautiful. And, the family is lovely. One of the nicest people I've met in India. They can also help with booking trains. The location is excellent, and there is a nice view of the Ganges River from the rooftop. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We loved our stay at Shiva Lodge, located just where you want to be in Varanasi - close to the Ghats (Ganga river), the markets and many beautiful places. The women running the place are extremely warm-hearted, welcoming and eager to help you have an amazing stay. Beautiful views from the rooftop and cozy atmosphere. I would highly recommend staying with them to anyone! :)

I really loved my stay at Shiva Lodge. The rooms and bathrooms are simple, but everything you need is there and especially the bathrooms are always clean. The owners are very kind and responsive. The temple next door is indeed providing an early wake up call, so if you are sensitive to that I recommend ear plugs. The owners took me to visit the temple right before it closed so I could avoid standing in the line myself.

Stayed there for a month felt like a family and will suggest everyone who is visiting varanasi first time please enjoy the hospitality and great views of Ganga. Beside this it is the place where Maa Varahi resides you can literally feel the energy and vibes was blessed to discover varahi temple through shiva lodge. Location is very much close to all important places in varanasi.

We felt at home at this special place. It was a relief to move into our cozy room at the Shiva Lodge, after we had a bad experience at one of the pricy bunkers in Varanasi. Pinky was an amazing host and you see and feel that she put her heart and soul into the Shiva Lodge. The rooftop terrace is like a peaceful little oasis where you can watch squirrels and the Ganges of course. The fact that the Lodge is right next to a temple, where pilgrims start lining up and chant early in the morning just added up to a very deep and wonderful experience of the indian culture and the soul of Varanasi. We would always come back and stay here at Shiva Lodge. What a wonderful place!

Not to be confused with the much more expensive Shiva Guesthouse... The Shiva Lodge has only about ten rooms on three levels. Very interesting prices, very simple rooms and clean sanitary facilities and the family on the ground floor is really very welcoming. Very close to the Ganges, great view from the roof and yet nothing like the many other guesthouses (factories) overlooking the Ganges and very expensive. Ideal for early risers, thanks to the temple right next door which is very busy with devotees from 5:30 am (the best time in Varanasi...). I highly recommend it as the prices are very low.

The management made it feel homely. Suggested me with all the places I could visit around. Were available anytime needed. Had a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

The behaviour of the owner was awesome. Politeness and Humbleness of the owner create the spiritual aroma of our journey. The views of the Ganges is mesmerizing from the room. If want to discover Indian ethos just stay that original architectural design room in varanasi. I can't forget that beautiful elaichi tea of your mother's ✋. The Baraha Mata temple will give you fragrance of Shiva. I will certainly stay in shiva lodge next time whenever i will be called for mhadev's blessings. You.

Excellent place to stay ! Right by the Ghats and close to all the action. Very silent as well. The rooftop is beautiful with a great view on the Ganges. The hosts are very sweet and super helpful. Will definitely stay here again !

It's not a lodge or guest house. They share their house and they treated as family members so that we can feel in happy mood. Very near to temple and ghats where Evening Arthi has conducting by temple. Land mark is varai Matha temple Only minus is for hotel and tea shop we want to walk some distance which is not available in our room.

Room condition is too good. Cooler available. Polite and respectful behaviour. It's just beside the Ganga river. Dasaswamedh ghat 2-3 minutes walking distance, and Biswanath temple 7-10 minutes walking distance.

Great location right in front of river and the main golden temple. Just amazing views. The rooms are nice and well cleaned. I didn’t find any bed bugs or much mosquitos as I found in many other places in South Asia. And, the most important, the owner’s hospitality: they give all tips you need and help you in everything. You really feel nice and at home there, especially of you have a bangh lassi and get a big hang over as I had!!! Thank you so much. André (Portugal)

I've stayed for few nights and it was my first time in Benaras, i was given the best room at best price with best view and access to terrace from where you could view ghats directly, i never felt that i stayed at lodge rather i felt i stayed at home! Highly recomnended for everyone!
