Loved it.Service are pretty slow but rooms are good and spacious and break fast options are not that good..it is advisable to book the rooms without breakfast.

I stayed for one night and regret my decision. It is definitely a “budget” hotel and as I had an early morning flight I moved to this hotel on my last night. The hotel is old… the photos on Google are probably from 15-20 years ago. Bad: Room had a damp, musty smell that I could get rid of even after having my room door open. You cannot open the windows. There was mould in the closet. Bathroom had no shower curtain so the whole area got wet when having a shower. The room was not cleaned well. Definitely not sanitised. There were fingerprint marks all over the surfaces/doors. The tv remote was disgusting. It had stuff (I hope it was food spillage)dried on it. I sanitised it myself. The AC was not working as I could not reduce the temperature no matter what button I pressed. There were mosquitoes in the room and that woke me up a few times in the middle of the night and struggled to go back to sleep as it was too warm. The wifi was very slow. Good: The room is spacious and hot water was available anytime, on request. Staff were good. Location is good if you want to stay in cantonment area, but I personally prefer the river area. Cantonment is dead compared to the lively river side. I’d definitely not recommend this hotel.

One of the worst place to stay in Varanasi, I am not sure if the hotel is more worst or their staff. Overall it was a pathetic experience staying in this hotel last week. We were on a group tour and I had expected that they would be more aware of the brand they are selling to a group tour. It was quite a disappointment to stay there. I am actually surprised to see 5/5 ratings for this hotel. 1. Unclean linen & rooms 2. Bad tasting food 3. Dirty toilet. We called for cleaning but they didn't come at all. Classic example of unprofessionalism 4. Super tasteless coffee/ tea, so most of us had headaches the whole day until the time our tour guide managed to arrange for a tea outside of the hotel 5. Staff is very unhelpful and unprofessional. They clear the plates for people who are still eating without even checking. They collect used plates by placing them on other tables where people are still eating, which really is eeow 6. Food is usually almost finished whenever we went to eat. There were batches for each group, and whenever we reached during our slot, food was almost over. We did not get rotis on most days of our stay. If you ask the staff why the rotis are not available, they either don't respond at all or tell you that it's over. The rice served was also half cooked 7. Do not pay more then the staying payment they refused to refund and over charged the food bill they we did not consumed. 8. Rude and not at all trustworthy people. 9. Worst for international tourists.

The staff was also very helpful and friendly. If I came back to the area, I would definitely stay here again. The Hotel Silk City is a great option for people who want a cheap hotel that doesn't skimp on quality.

Thirdclass hotel and third class hotel staff. Does wrong food billing in your room charges. Also, impolite behavior at checkout. Also hotel is located in area where vehicle are not accessible and never ever go here Total waste of money.

Lovely room but having to wait so long was awful. The tour company should had been informed that there was a big delay. We waited from 6.30 until 1. Pm to get a room. The washroom needs upgrading. The arrival breakfast service was not good. Second day much better. Staff much nicer second day and helpful.

We stayed at this place for 3 nights 4 days. One of the worst stays ever experienced. Room service, bathroom sanitation, lift are in dilapated state 1. no exhaust or ventilation in bathrooms. All d time hotel staff keeps saying it has central ventilation but in reality nothing was working 2. Bathroom Drainage is pathetic. All day bathroom floor remained wet. Water kept standing near toilet and wash basin. Had to call housekeeping every now and then 3. By default ACs are switched off from backend. No pre check done before check in. 4. Awful room service - no help was provided unless requested multiple times 5. Morning breakfast did not include basic staple north indian item- parantha. Bread toaster was out of service without alternative. South indian items -Sambhar, idling vada were far away from a decent cooking. Juices were stale 6. Lift system was dysfunctional -.5 floors and a single guest lift with capacity of max 5 people. Buttons not working,.long waits of 20 mins even to get down 3 floors.

Very good room, service was also very good, would have liked a little more western choice for breakfast, but over all very good and would stay here again.

Nice quiet location with spacious clean bedroom. Great customer service. We would definitely stay again. The best hotel we have had during our 18 days in India.

Rooms need a check list to make sure necessities are there. Staff ok but need a bit better English. Rooms need airing. Cleanliness improved a little. Overall ok.
