Worst hospitality. They actually don’t know how to treat guests. We had made prior reservations at their cafe for Sunday Lunch and the boat pick up and drop. At the end moment we were informed that boat pickup or drop was not possible and we will have to arrange it on our own. When we reached the cafe almost everything on the menu was unavailable. We ordered for a toast, pasta and some potato wedges. After 30 minutes of ordering they told us that the toast was not available as they didn’t have any bread so they got us some wedges and asked us to wait for some more time for the pasta. After another 45 minutes the waiter unapologetically comes to us saying that the pasta will not be possible and that he is getting the final bill. Is this seriously something to expect from a heritage property of this level. Please don’t waste your time or money on going on such properties who are extremely partial and don’t know how to treat their guests.

I visited the rooftop cafe and it was quite okay kind of. I felt it is slightly overrated. The quality of the food is okay (according to the price). Definitely you are going to pay for the ambience nothing else😁. You can have a good quality time with your family. But I'll again say don't expect too much.

I am disappointed, maybe disillusioned because of my expectations. I just had French Fries and a Cappuccino here, both not in a top quality but high priced. Fries where a bitb dry and coffee was watery. They claim to offer "a window to the heritage and culture of Banaras", but they play western music and serve western food. My suggestion: play 70ies Bollywood music and serve amazing Indian food.

Hi guys...Am still here....i really have to put in a word for Madhubala Shekhar at the reception.... wonderful pleasant people ..i would say to the staff if i have to put in some negative comments ....than write here ........i think the experience was soulful...it was beautiful view of Ganges ..it was safe peaceful and quiet...people staff everyone was friendly and courteous...i will definitely come back again...the boat rides...the Arti..the Ambience..The whole experience of Banaras was possible with my stay at Guleria Kothi ....the Lotus 🪷 flowers...the clean ghats......i loved it...So here is wishing them all Akash ..Madhubala Swati chintu rajendra shekhar and just everyone at Guleria kothi.and varanasi... 😘 All the best....it's been an experience at varanasi visiting all the Ghats... 💕 And best wishes to each one again 🙏 and i loved your..Banaras..!

If you are planning to have food here, read this review first It's a high time that restaurant should understand that merely giving a good looking place and good looking food is not sufficient, food has to be good in the taste ultimately. Visited this place because of it's open air ganga facing cafe, however didn't find anything appealing on the menu to order for. Very restricted and limited food options. However, I ordered a Latte and cheese peri peri potato wedges. Coffee was great in the quantity but in taste or quality, it was just way too below average. Cheese Peri peri potato wedges: Potato skin was not removed, was greatly crisp, perfectly cooked. However, as far as peri peri flavour is concerned, there was nothing to be called as peri peri, just red chilli powder was sprinkled, and cheese ? Really ? Ideally it should have been a mozzarella cheese with perfect melt but it was normal cheese ( also not sufficient, hardly one cube was used) not properly spread. Overall was not a good experience to have food here except for the view that it provides. Can be skipped on your tour to Banaras/Varanasi

Beautiful place to stay, right on the banks of Ganges. All the main ghats are easily accessible. The staff is extremely helpful and courteous and made sure all our requests were taken care of. We unfortunately came during a boat strike but they arranged for all possible transport including boat rides from the hotel. Food at the hotel restaurant is great and so is the service. Overall an amazing stay for the family.

Very simple room, bed not that comfortable, wardrobe very small. Commode shower profusely leaked, plumber cud not do anything. It was in bad condition. Restaurant has very less choice, food ws just ok. What for they charged 21k + ? It's not at all justified. The pictures in the Internet, website are very different than original.

I came here with my family and got one of the best experiences due to the location of the hotel. The rooms were clean. The food was also amazing to taste. All the staffs were extremely nice to us. We got an amazing service given by, Sham and Punit. We are looking forward to visit again.❤

Superb location and excellent service. One of the loveliest heritage hotels that has breathtaking views as it is on the ghats. Impeccable and ever helping staff. I wanted to visit the temple early in the morning and the staff were every willing and helpful. Kashi Viswanath temple is a 10 mins walk from there or a 5 mins boat ride. Staying here makes the trip memorable and comfortable. Will highly recommend the hotel.

Don't know how the stay will turn out but the treatment we got at the reception was disappointing to say the least. After waiting for almost three hours for the room we were suggested that we can get the room early on payment. Though the rooms were vacant. The person named Shekhar was rude to the point of being insulting. Telling us that we are not allowed to stand at the reception. Also don't bother coming here if boats are not allowed to ply

This is a place famous for Marriage. The marriage location is near to bank of holy river Ganges. You will feel calm and peace at this place whole night and even on summer time you will not feel hot or humid as cool wind will flow all the time. The property need some maintenance like room and stairs as it become very old definitely you will get ancient monuments feeling. Food service and taste is good.

We went for breakfast and it was amazing. The service was very fast and the server Shyam was very good at helping all of us. He got everything we asked for quickly and was responsive to anything we needed. All other servers were also great but he was exceptional. Food was wonderful as well, the kachori was to die for. I also quite liked the butter corn

Lovely place on the banks of the river and accessible to all the ghats. Food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff was extremely nice. Would love to visit again and stay at this beautiful boutique heritage hotel.

We had very bad experience in Guleria Kothi which my sister had booked from the USA for a triple occupancy room. The heritage property looks very nice from the boat but we got a very crammed room for 3 occupants. The first evening at their restaurant Ganga Teeré we had ordered a Non Veg platter and after waiting for 40 mins we got a Veg platter which we didn't order! Still we waited ( tired and hungry) for the Non Veg platter which took another 40 mins to arrive. Have you heard of getting electric shocks in any hotel who charges 24k + per night? We have experienced that too. My daughter got electric shock from the iron and sister got the same from the electric kettle!! The second evening of our stay the lift got stuck with 3 of us inside! Not once but twice! The complimentary breakfast at the restaurant is very ordinary and most of the items get over when people actually come to eat! Same story everyday! The linens here are tired and ratty... very unimpressive for a high end property like Guleria Kothi The office staff and housekeeping however are polite and helpful and the Boatmen have been on time and very friendly too!

Everything was great staying at this hotel. The services were really good, rooms were kept clean, only the location is a little annoying to get to.

Pathetic hotel, pathetic service, pathetic hospitality.. not even worth one star.. Rooms are so small and smelly, AC doesn't work properly, they don't even provide water properly. U have to ask for refill after every half an hour that too they can't provide cold water.. if u r ordering something from outside u have to go and sit outside the hotel premises and eat, and then clean the table if u have not taken food from them.. lights in the room are useless.. no soap in washroom.. Overall worst experience!

One of the best places to stay when in Varanasi. Located right on the Agneeshvar Ghat & next to Ganesh Ghat. Tasteful decor of the place with antique look to the furnishings. The temple inside the complex is serene & gives one enough time to relax, meditate. The idol is beautiful & the shringar is aesthetic everyday. Though the rooms & bathrooms maybe a little cramped but are comfortable, neat & functional in every way. The river facing rooms are the best to stay. To get up early morning & simply walk down the ghat steps to the river to watch the sun rise is a mesmerizing experience. The food is quite tasty with generous helpings. The staff starting from the reception to the rest of the place is extremely competent & helpful in every way. Liked their cheer at all times. The Housekeeping staff is especially very good. The boatmen for pickup & drop are amiable & courteous at all times. Over-all a First Rate experience, not to be missed. One suggestion - Do not serve Golden Fried Prawns as it's nothing but prawns fried in besan. Not a good idea at all.

No body should visit Guleria Kothi hotel without prior booking. We went for a walk-in dinner around 9.00 pm, but the entire staff didn't let us in as the hotel had guests were dinning.. have never heard of a restaurant that had returned their guests without dinner.. worst experience after reaching the hotel after walking for 30 mins through winding lanes of Varanasi

The staff is very courteous Otherwise the Hotel is very pricey for the facilities that they offer. We're surprised they charged us for turmeric water. Rooms are veryyy small. Bathrooms needs a revamp. Tiles were veryyy dirty.

Nothing can beat the vibe and aura of this place. It is located right on the ghat yet it is calm and serene. They have got open cafe facing the Ganga river opening towards ghaat, any given day spending a morning here with choice of your beverage will certainly give you lot of relaxation and time to admire the beauty of Varanasi facing ghats.

Went here for lunch. View is good. Food is average. Overall it was an average experience. They charge 18%gst though it’s not a 5 star hotel and above that service charge. Quite pricey for what you have there. Built beautifully u can take nice pictures over here.

You can't enjoy the Ganga river in a better way..this must be the most experiential stay at Varanasi You got to live it to believe the unbeatable location. A special note for the extra courteous and warm, welcoming staff who are ready and passionate to serve. Highly recommended!

Amazing ganges view from the cafe. Reaching there is like going through a maze, but worth going. BBQ Chicken pizza was awesome. Chicken sandwich was tasty as well

It's a very beautiful place overlooking the river Ganga, aesthetically designed interior, antique architecture, very well maintained kothi, over 200 years old! Moreover their hospitality is beyond words, their staff behaviour touched my heart ❤Food was also good. We are overwhelmed and desire to visit and stay again. Will recommend others to visit and stay there atleast once for a great experience 💕💕💕

An amazing heritage place to stay on the ghats. The staff is very warm and hospitable. Rooms are nice and compact. Gives you the rustic feel. They are very flexible and helpful when it comes to changes in itinerary or exploring the ghats in the nights. Some of the food items are slightly priced on the higher side, which am sure can be looked into. Special thanks to Mr Nitesh and his team for making our stay very comfortable. Kudos to Mr Aditya foe having this vision and helping restore our heritage and help create beautiful memories ❤️❤️
