Amazing taste but bit too expensive. Check the rates beforehand. We had 8 plates of three kinds of toasts( 2 piece in each plate) and 6 teas which summed around 500 rupees.

For all the chai ☕️ and bread 🍞 butter 🧈 lovers out there, this place is for them! The butter toast is very simple yet tasty 😋 Although its situated in a very narrow street very close to the Kashi Vishwanath temple gate no. 4, this place is always crowded. The toast is made on coal and the butter or the white makhan is completely melted and gives a very nice flavour to the toast. The best morning breakfast in Varanasi after Bedai 🤪

This is inside a narrow lane. Better to be here in the morning for breakfast. A much hyped place in Varanasi with one arrogant and over smart staff working there. We had Malai toast which is of 60₹ and it was good. The Butter toast was average and also the chai (tea). Nothing special to mention here. Just average.

All I can say there are so many other places which are really good but never get hyped. Chai was good,I am not much attracted by its bread toast. I felt ok.

Lakshmi Chaiwala. One of most famous Chaiwala at Banaras. This place is not only famous for it's awesome Chai but is also popular for their unique Butter Toast and Malai Toast. These two dishes are just mouth watering and must taste. The toast is roasted on Koyala bhatti and topped with butter they prepared at home besides this you will also get Amul Butter toast but suggested to taste their home made butter toast only and the Malai Toast is just out of this world tastes very good with that hot kulhad tea. Pure Malai topped with sprinkled sugar on toast....amazing experience. Must must try if you are visiting Banaras. The place is near the Kashi Vishweshwar Mandir and it's a very tiny place usually crowded. But don't miss it.

Good tea and toast. The option in toasts and tea are only available during breakfast (before 10 or 11 am). The place is lil small so it can get crowdy , but isnt that what old banaras is all about?!

This place is near to old Vishwanath temple . Very old shop . I feel this place is overpriced as well not that worthy. The tea was okay in taste. I tried amul butter toast which was below the expectation. Malai toast I don't like at all. When i compare this shop with other chaat or tea shops of low/medium level. I will give it 2/5 in taste and 1/5 in cost. Overall not worthy as it's costly(compared to other shops) and very distant from main locations.

This is one place which should be truly famous. Very simple menu with offering of bread toast and tea, and both are amazingly tasty. Famous for malai toast, white butter toast and normal butter toast. One special toast which you should visit to find out. And the tea is just awesome. Very rarely you find places where tea is just perfect and you wonder why making a simple recipe like tea is so complicated and you don't find such tea everywhere and easily. So while in Benares do visit.

Another great place for a morning tea. This is near Kachori gali outside Kashi Vishwanath mandir. Must try their plain white butter toast with the masala they give on the side. I also tried their Cesarean toast but the butter filled in it gets melted so much that it seeps into the bread. Couldn't try their Malai toast as it was sold out, as per them.

A very old and famous chai shop in the narrow lanes of Varanasi, Laxmi Chai Wala is known for is bread toast with white butter, sugar and chai. There is enough seating space and you get to talk with fellow travelers while enjoying your kulhad of chai. I am sure your cravings won't be satisfied with just one kulhad of chai and you would want one more.

I visited Laxmi Chai Wala with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The place is highly overrated, and the staff's behavior was disappointing – consistently rude and unhelpful. Hygiene seemed to be neglected, raising concerns about the overall cleanliness of the establishment. One major letdown was the availability of their signature dish, the malai toast. Shockingly, it was sold out early in the morning, leaving customers like me without the chance to try what should have been a highlight. The crowd added to the discomfort, making it challenging to enjoy the supposed charm of the place. In essence, Laxmi Chai Wala failed to live up to its reputation. The combination of rude staff, hygiene issues, and the unavailability of their key offering left me with a negative impression. I would not recommend this establishment to others seeking a pleasant chai and toast experience.

This is a tea shop in Thateria Bazaar, very close to the Vishwanath temple...They are most known for their coal toasted bread with either Amul butter or home made beat Malaai, which looks heavy but is super light, fluffy and delicious when put on toast. These are also available in a "Cesarean" version (don't like the name), which is basically butter/malaai filled into the bread by slitting a single slice. Head here for sure, for this garma garam toast and chai !

I recently visited Lakshmi Chai Wala and ordered chai white butter toast and makhani toast. Unfortunately the taste of these items did not meet my expectations impacting my overall satisfaction with the visit.

This place offers you Malai toast , Amul butter toast and regular White butter toast. They offer one more variety and that is said to be scissorean. Where they cut a small opening in bread and shove a bit of butter inside which is then again melted. 100 marks for their ability to innovate but taste is just normal. However chai served here in Kulhad is just amazing in taste. Must try once for the experience.

Very old and popular place. If you are a chai and toast lover then you may visit. Malai toast here is good. Seating area available despite the narrow place. Overall 👍👍 6/10

Situated inside the market, this tiny stall boasts of arrogant staff, average tea but good toast. They are pretty fast but the tea they serve is tiny very expensive and quite under the mark by Benares standards. Other stalls outside sell better tea. We had a white butter toast and it was very good. It’s tiny though so the price they charge would feel expensive and please ask for prices in advance to not be shocked when you hear the prices up front

Famous for its white butter toast, tea was really nice. Do try their cesarean butter toast. However everything is bit overpriced.

This shop right next in a bylane from the main Street serves good tea together with white butter toast. The toast is prepared fresh and one have choice of having white or yellow butter on top of it. One can also decide to have the toast sprinkled with either pepper or sugar depending on the taste they prefer. It's a modest shop serving quick breakfast for the people of Varanasi. Although I found the price slightly expensive (50INR, for a modest cup of tea and toast) but guess it's fine given the experience.

Absolutely loved the taste. White butter toast is must to try. Hygiene is very poor but if you want good taste, that's the one stop.
