I haven't been to On The Border since 2015 since I discovered restaurants with way better tasting Enchiladas but my sister treated me, I decided to go. First off I was immediately turned off after going to the restroom and it was horrible, nasty smelling and disgusting, every single stall, it was 2pm on a Tuesday with three people in the place, no way it should've looked that nasty, which means they never cleaned it to begin the day. The food took a long time to come out, there was hardly anyone in the place which is weird. The Enchiladas were cooked way too long at the bottom and it was hard for me to cut with my fork. The food tasted as bad as I remember a 4/10 for the Enchiladas, the rice was a 5/10, the beans were the only good thing on my plate. I will never go back, I will stick to where I normally dine for a great taste of Enchiladas.

The service and food was great, our waiter was awesome and very attentive, the host however was rude and acted like she didn't like her job, she's the skinny one with all the bronzer, she and a few other workers were sitting at a table drinking while the manager was conducting interviews across in the next table. She shouldn't talk about her butt cheeks in a restaurant or anywhere in public, no way in hell would I ever think about working there when the manager is making eyes to other employees about the person I'm interviewing in front of the person being interviewed. But the food and service was great lol.

Very disappointed. Felt very ripped off on the size of tortillas were like a street taco, cheese sauce half filled, won't be ordering to go again!

First time coming here. The atmosphere was great. Good music playing in the background. Staff were friendly on my visit. The waitress was very friendly and attended to me quickly. Food look amazing! Tasted amazing and was full of flavor. Location was great. Definitely recommend eating here! Get the fajitas plater very delicious.

While OTB has always had fairly mid-range Tex Mex -- made harder by the fact that Texas has wonderful local options -- the overall quality here has taken a nosedive. Our waitress had a horrible attitude. She never smiled, never acknowledged our kids, debated with my wife over information on the OTB website, never checked on us despite walking by our table numerous times, never refilled our drinks, and only refilled our chips once after a long delay. All of this in a fairly empty restaurant. We noticed that she treated the other (few) tables she had in the same manner. She seemed to be put out over the fact that she was waiting tables. We left a tip because I've worked in the service industry and I know that it can be stressful, depressing, and customers can be jerks. But I also left thinking: if you cannot even do the basics of your job do you really deserve anything extra? We will not be coming back to this location -- I'd rather go to a place that does not treat me and my family like a burden.

WORD of the day here! Beverages! From the salsa to the margaritas! Whichever one you choose to drink. Well, the salsa it's just that good to me. Today I wanted to try. Sweethoney chili shrimp tacos. Interestingly tangy with a amazing crunchiness. I took the time to add pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. Yummy. The beans and rice definitely have my taste of approval. The margaritas were so pretty this day. (People were asking what they were from the other tables) and I helped make some sales! Good choice people! Pass me another cup of that salsa please? Lol. Okay let me regain my composure. The place was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food is very filling and satisfying. I will definitely come back. This is a wheelchair accessible restaurant. Plenty of seating Walking spaces adequate. Bathroom is nice and clean and wheelchair accommodatable. Very good lighting. The place has ambience. Great family atmosphere. Definitely a place that you're able to come celebrate. Wheelchair parking in the front and sides of building. Oh my God! I forgot to tell you! Please try the cheesecake chimichanga? I hope you thank me later. Hey if you like my reviews. Please like and follow.

We stopped here on the (long) way home from a medical appointment on a broiling hot Monday, for a late lunch (3pm). Restaurant was nearly empty. Our server was a young woman who was entirely too chatty and unable to read clues from her customers - we're tired, we're hot, we're hungry, we don't want to talk with you about the medical appointment or what we did this past weekend. And we certainly don't want to hear from you on how bad the customers are at this place - they don't tip enough, they're rude, they make you cry, you barely made enough to pay part of your electric bill, and on and on. The girl did just not know when to shut up. She did fine with our order and making the guacamole live. Not long after bringing our entrees out, she said she'd be bringing the bill since she would be off soon - and quickly departed, missing out on a chance for more tips, as we were thinking about dessert or another drink. When she brought the itemized tab, we gave her a credit card right away, since she seemed to be in such a hurry. She brought back the receipt for signature - but NOT the itemization, as most restaurants do. When I asked for it, she wanted to know what was wrong. Nothing, I said, I just want to have the itemization. "I threw it away." Well, can't you print out another? She huffed away and returned with a new printout, which she dropped on the table before stalking away. Arguing with customers is *NOT* the way to get a good tip. Trying to guilt your customers into giving you a good tip with stories of bad customers is not the way to do it either. And talking too much about your personal problems is also not helpful. Food was OK - chips were stale (normally I would take leftovers home, not this time), guacamole live and my husband's enchiladas were good, border chicken was so-so (vegetables were burnt). Kitchen was slow for the place being mostly empty. Manager just walked around with hands in his pockets, when plenty of tables (and menus - icky) needed cleaning - no point complaining to him! Music was too loud. Take-home containers are round and made of a thin, weak plastic. And by the way, we left an 18% tip anyway - although our normal minimum is 20% for average service.

We had been going to this on the border for more than 20 years the food is still good, however the service has gotten so bad. As we got seated we waited like 10 minutes no one came right away to ask for our drinks . We see like 3 servers talking , one is on her phone talking while out for customers to see. One other server is saying she will get our server while she continues to talk to the other worker . Not busy There may had been only 4 tabkes that are being served .

The worst customer service of all time. We placed our order and never saw our waiter for like 20 minutes or longer. I was about to leave and then he showed up with our food. The sweet tea was gross and not sweet at all. The food was mid at best and service was the worst by far. I feel like I just wasted my night and $35 for 2 people to eat. And a roach crawled onto our family members table right next to us. Obsolutly gross. Management owes us a better experience!!!

Very kind server and excellent food. We did not have to wait long to sit or to eat. I personally enjoyed the chicken Tortilla soup for some light heat to go with the meal.

There weren't that many people during the time we went (Sat at around 645pm) and the service was fairly prompt. The server was also nice/friendly. The only issue was the food itself; it wasn't what it use to be and the quality unfortunately declined since my last visit a few years ago. The food was warm at best, and when we told her about it she pretty much said that it was straight from the kitchen and they didn't have heating lamps or so, pretty much telling us that it's as hot as it will be. She was nice/friendly about it, but the food still didn't seem straight from the kitchen. This is the place to go if you want to watch a game and enjoy some chips/salsa and drinks, but I wouldn't recommend dinner here.

Eek I have never seen a new GM treat his employees so poorly. “How long is this going to take you?” Especially in front of guest - thank Thank you Frankie for helping the sinking ship that was the bar. The GM surely did NOT jump into help, his pullover might have gotten dirty 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll assume AnnaLisa trained the new manager and not the GM! Rethink corporate decisions guys! ***Later note*** Sam is hustling to, get it girl “ ~Free queso is not the fix for a complaint!

Food and environment are high on my list when choosing a place to eat, but mainly I pick a place on customer service. Joanna is why I choose to eat here! The first time we came here, she greeted our table with a smile. We had the best conversation and we felt at home. Better yet, she remembers us every-time we have come in since. We feel like family! I just want to give KUDOS to someone that goes above and beyond for her customers! I know times can be stressful, but you can tell she loves what she does!

The meal was great the service was ok also ... Our server seemed like he was coming off week day ride ! He was jumpy and just acted a little paranoid... He brought us our queso with no chips , but the over all experience was satisfying !

We stopped in after going to an event in the area. We were welcomed at the door and seated right away. Our waitress Journey was AMAZING. We have a 5 month old baby boy (Memphis) and Journey was very nice with helping us get him situated. We asked for the new Coconut Paleta Rita. She was unsure if they had any and went to check. Came back and we were in luck. Ordered our drinks and looked over the menu. Our drinks came out and they are the absolute BEST. While our food was being made Journey played peek-a-boo with our boy and told us about her daughter and gave us some new tips about teething since Memphis has 2 teeth coming in. Our food came out right after within 10 mins of us ordering. Fresh and hot. We will be coming back the next time we are in the area. For everyone else if you go. Ask for Journey! She’s a ROCKSTAR!!!

I went in to enjoy a veteran’s meal. I was seated and waited for about 15 minutes. A waiter/waitress never came to greet me or ask for my drink order. I had to get up to ask a busboy who my server was but he didn’t know. I left without being served. Just terrible.

We are regular customers and visit once or twice a week. Richard is our server and he always gives us the royal treatment. Ask for Richard and I know you won't be disappointed. We give him five stars.

Food was excellent, and guacamole was so fresh. Brandon was our server, and we never wanted for anything. Great service, and I would definitely visit again.

Went here around 1:30 for lunch. Ordered the beef enchiladas with queso. I bit & nope, it was like Wolfe brand chili stuffed into tortilla. Only 3 servers for 3 dining room. Which I understand it's not their fault. Wanted to get application to take to the 3 people begging at the corner light for money. They needed to replace light bulbs as it was a bit dark over the tables over the tables for 1 or 2 people.

The restaurant and staff were amazing. The food just seemed off that day. The chips weren't salted at all so that was weird. I'm used to OTB food and opted for something different from my norm. I had the buffalo fried shrimp tacos. I would probably stay with the tried and true fajitas. Otherwise good place

Almost $9 for about 4oz. of queso. I ordered beef empanadas and got chicken. Those two items and a soda was over $28.

Definitely recommend. Our server was a very kind lady named Shannon. Shannon was very attentive and helpful with choosing a meal. She was also the bartender and displayed masterful expertise in all areas. We hope that next time we come, that Shannon is our server again. Thank you Shannon!
