This is one of the best places for outing with friends or families in Bangalore The location is very accessible. It has a metro station nearby and a very good connectivity with local bus. The area of the garden is around 230 Acres. You would need around three to five hours to visit. It has a wide variety of flowers and plants and the atmosphere here is very delightful. The place is very clean and it has a lake and an artificial waterfall inside. There are many good food stalls as well.

I am searched in google for lalbhag ,then I expected more , There was nothing to satisfy my excitement. I don't like so much . All of you don't expect over, because there no for too much expect. We can spend time for one hour by walking and sitting. Good place for lovers .Even though no tag all tree have no tag for identification and no details about that , only few tree has tag . I love horticulture, but I don't recommend this place for horticulturist. I could understand from there, the management of lalbhag not maintaining

I have been to this garden many times. Every time I visit, it makes me closer towards the nature. Such a big place with different varieties of trees and species. The best time of the day to visit is in the evening though it closes by 6pm. Inside the compound they have motor cars to take you around the garden in case you don't want to walk all the way round. Even it has a lake inside. Must visit place if you are in Bangalore. Easily accessible from any part of the city. This year (2021) was disappointing. We visited a day before republic day to see the flowers and decorations which they generally do during this time of the year but nothing was there. No flowers nothing. Maximum of the areas are either empty or closed. Pandemic effect. But whatever it is we enjoyed the walk surrounded by the trees and had nice pictures.

Beautiful place.. Visited today to see the flower show. It was so beautiful. Filled with lots of fresh flowers. It's a relaxing feel to the eyes. At the entrance tickets are to be taken. Adult โ‚น75 per person and โ‚น25 per child who is 6 years and above. There are sanitizers kept. And security checks too. Due to holiday it was very crowded. Kids will love the place very much. Its a vast place where you can spend a whole day with your friends and family. A must visit place to chill out. The flowers show is conducted at the glass house.

Don't expect things in actual like the pictures posted here.. May be once upon a time it was like that.. But now, Many of the plants were "LITERALLY DEAD" only bulk trees and some plants are available.. I expected pond will be beautiful but in actual it's just waste one. They mentioned aquarium in map but in actual it doesn't exists there.. Just if you want to relax from all your stress I strongly recommend this. If tourist, simply skip this.. What I liked most is biggest trees I never seen before,City view from hill, drinking water facility and couples (what???)๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Yes, every bench there is filled with couples and their romance. If you are travelling with family strongly advising you to skip this.. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚ Overall just an average experience..

This was the best park i ever went to. My stay at Bangalore is very short still this is one of my daily spots. Overwhelming Greenery, fresh air and abundance of peace which always pulls me in. In between at the centre of the park there is a pond and a track around makes, it a very attractive spot for jogging. Exactly straight to the entrance gate there is a temple on a single rock, best spot for stretching.

Very beautiful, pleasant and calm place to enjoy with friends and family. It's situated in a large area containing lakes, many gardens, glass house, small snacks & drinks stalls, public restroom, rose garden, variety of beautiful trees and plants and many more to mention. If you want to enjoy this place visit here with atleast 5 hours handy. There's a electric vehicle available which covers very few spots and gives a quick tour of the garden, but I will not recommend it, instead walking and enjoying this place is what I recommend. Overall it's very beautiful and a must visit place in Bengaluru.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. We took a guided paid tour ticket on an electric car. The driver stops and shares important points about the garden. There are so many beautiful trees that have been living for hundreds of years now including cotton, Christmas tree, Chinese bamboo and even cherry blossom tree. Good to spend quality time here with family and friends. Entry is free.

Lush green and full of exquisite trees and plants, it also houses huge number of birds, hence a delight for nature and bird lovers. The garden was a breathtaking tapestry of nature's beauty. Every corner adorned with vibrant flowers, lush foliage, adorable lake and the gentle rustle of leaves. It felt like a living poem, a sanctuary where the soul could immerse itself in the sheer magnificence of the natural world. A place where beauty blossomed in every petal, and tranquility was found in the whispers of the breeze through the foliage. Truly, a haven where one could witness the full, enchanting embrace of nature.

It is a pleasant place to travel . A garden with minimal entry fee. You will definitely enjoy the soothing effect of shades of trees, slow moving wind, the sounds by birds . Its really worthy place to visit . Sometimes festivals are there , like on this week 1 Jun 2022 there is mango festival . And dont miss the nursery there just left after reaching , you will regret if you missing that.

One of the most beautiful and serene gardens to visit. Bangalore is so glad to have maintained this gem. Lush greenery, well maintained water body with all the amazing flora and fauna. Not to miss out on the spectacular glass house, which is in its full beauty during the annual flower show. It is something not to be missed at all. Come here with your family and friends for a leisure stroll or a nice picnic.

The Republic Day flower show at Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bangalore is a vibrant celebration of India's rich floral diversity. Showcasing an exquisite array of flowers, plants, and intricate floral arrangements, this event offers a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts and tourists alike. The themed gardens, floral sculptures, and creative designs not only celebrate Republic Day but also promote environmental awareness and the importance of preserving India's floral wealth. Overall, it's a visually stunning and culturally enriching experience that captivates visitors and highlights the beauty of our natural heritage.

My visit to Lalbagh Botanical Garden during the flower show left me mesmerized by the stunning variety of flowers on display. The sheer beauty and diversity of the blooms are a testament to the dedicated efforts of the gardeners who work tirelessly to maintain this floral paradise. However, the overall experience was marred by the somewhat discourteous attitude of the security personnel, creating an initial hurdle for visitors. Despite the extended wait in line, the enchanting display of flowers made every moment worthwhile. The vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and fragrant blossoms provided a feast for the senses. It became a delightful family outing, with each step revealing new floral wonders to capture in memories. Lalbagh Botanical Garden, with its breathtaking flower show, stands as a testament to nature's splendor, even though the visitor experience could be enhanced by more considerate interactions with the security team.

Great but nothing that I haven't seen before. Went for the Republic Day Flower Show. Also an entry fee of Rs. 100 is very exclusionary - everybody deserves to enjoy public attractions. If crowd management is a concern, there are always better ways to do it.

The place is really good, but avoid visiting during the June July period as they renovate the place and may not seem as beautiful as always. It remains crowded as well in weekends. However, the nature is well maintained and feels nice. The lake is also wonderful.

This place is so beautiful , scenic and peaceful..one can easily find peace here . For nature lover it's a bundle of joy ..the chirping of birds and fragrance of flowers makes it more peaceful .the garden is big enough and water is not available inside besides water tab so it's better to carry your own water bottle ..the golf cart kind of car is available inside that take u around the garden ..covering whole garden in that takes 45-50 mins..but but but the driver was savage he will become your guide and then will ask for fees ๐Ÿ˜‚.even after u have paid 100 rs per person plus 20 rs guide fees which u haven't asked for .. besides him the place is a must visit for nature lovers and as tourist..

It's nice to go for a walk in the morning rather than visiting it as a picnic spot. Entry is free from 6 to 9 in the morning. It's enjoyable to climb the rock hill and simply sit at the top of it. However, I wouldn't recommend visiting during the occasional flower shows, as they are not worth the money.

Always love a visit to Lalbagh. Its open contrary to what Google Maps says. Surprisingly empty on a sunday morning though. Its important for them to enforce strict cleanliness rules though and important for the visitors to respect them. They should be more reasonably priced for larger groups though. It would also be nice to have a shuttle service for senior citizens and the aged who visit the park. Nevertheless the environment and the abundance of plants and greenery is a treat for the eyes.

Beautiful botanical gardens with lots of scenic spots to visit. The park contains around 1800 plant species; a staggering number. The park contains plants from across the globe - South America, Europe, Australia - all growing side by side. Check out "the rock", one of the oldest exposed rocks on the face of the earth. Park is very well kept in Indian standards. Try taking a guide or a good book to help you get to know what you're seeing.

The garden was beautiful enough to see and I wish to go there again and again in my life. The garden is aesthetically designed with lawns, flower beds, lotus pools and fountains. It has over 1000 species of plants both flowering and non flowering. The ambience inside the garden was just awesome. There are so many new species of flowers available in the garden which is very beautiful and mind blowing. It is the best place to have a peace of mind and refreshment. The entry ticket of the garden was just 20 rupees for elders and for kids it was free.It would be very beautiful if we go there with the family members or with friends. So I recommend you to definitely visit atleast once in your life.

Today i visited here with my family. It is a 240 acres of trees, plants, and flowers, this is one of the largest botanical gardens. There is even a lake inside. It is connected by metro, although it is accessible by bus and other mode of transportation. A magnificent garden in the midst of the city is a great place to visit. It's wonderful to see such large and old trees of various species. I'm glad it's being well preserved and cared for. Nature can readily be enjoyed for a few hours. You can spend time here with your family members; currently, the entry cost is Rs.30/- per person. Plastic products, including water bottles, are not permitted inside. Overall, a pleasant spot to spend your time.

All times are best to visit this place. But since they host a flower show twice a year, one on Independence day and another on republic day, that makes it the best time. On these 2 occasions since the queue is long, it's always better to reach by 6:45am to have a nice view of the show. But yes the show is usually inside the glasshouse, and they have a ticketing system for the entry during these 2 occasions, but otherwise you can go to any area of the garden without any charges. In general the garden is huge, spread over 240 acres with 4 entrances, and for for 1st timers there is a high probability of getting lost. Because I did. Within the premises there are flowers shops selling small plants, a wide variety of pots, protective items for plants, and many more. You can get snacking options also at one portion of the garden. The garden is huge and beautiful and one would have great walks inside. And it's not limited to walks, you will find various groups of people doing yoga. Its open for anything and everything. But just that we must maintain the littering situation here. If one stays close by to this, they must visit here as regular as possible as the vibe is very positive.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a real gem within Bangalore city. I've had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful oasis four times a year, and it never ceases to amaze me. In the midst of the bustling city, Lalbagh offers a serene and refreshing escape. The garden's lush greenery and tranquil ambiance make it a perfect spot to spend a day. What truly sets it apart is the stunning combination of a vast garden, a serene lake, an enchanting glass house, and a captivating floral clock. Each element adds to the garden's charm and beauty. Lalbagh Botanical Garden is undoubtedly a must-visit destination in Bangalore, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic retreat in the heart of the city. It's a real gift to have such a green and cool sanctuary amidst the urban hustle and bustle.

It's an amazing place. Visited few months ago. It's good to visit this place during flowers festival time and special occasions. Especially kid will have fun and joy. It's very huge place to roam and need some energy. It's better to bring your food and water from home. Overall it's great place. Great place to spend time with your family and friends. But before entering the park we have to take ticket which cust 25 per head and if you having DSLR camera you have to extra for that , i think during some occasions on a 15 August they will keep the flowers show that time ticket price will be more probably whole 10 August to 20 August is the best time to visit there because all the arrangement will be there for the flowers show. Apart from that there is a lots of place to explore big stone , water pound and big and old trees , and they do have your two and 4 wheeler parking facilities. Parking Everything is arranged and managed so properly I love that place.......

It's got tress, a Waterfall, a lake, a beautiful view of the city from the top of a hillock and statues made from dead trees stumps! It has been a long time since I visited this place. Used to come here as a kid. Don't quite remember what it was way back then but I like the way it is now. The place has been very well maintained and is definitely a great place to come for a nice long walk any day of the week. ๐Ÿ˜

The Independence Day flowers show was a vibrant and patriotic celebration of nature's beauty intertwined with the spirit of freedom. The event, held on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, showcased a stunning array of flowers, each carefully curated to represent the colors and diversity of the nation. Upon entering the venue, visitors were greeted by a breathtaking display of red, white, and blue blooms that echoed the flag's emblematic hues. The meticulous arrangement of roses, carnations, and orchids formed intricate patterns, paying homage to the national flag. The fragrance of the flowers wafted through the air, creating an atmosphere of reverence and unity. The show featured a diverse range of flowers indigenous to the country, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage and regional diversity. Marigolds and lotus flowers adorned the displays, representing various states and traditions. Additionally, floral installations of historical figures and landmarks evoked a sense of pride and nostalgia. One of the highlights was a mesmerizing "Floral Freedom Wall," where visitors could pin notes of gratitude and aspirations using petals. This interactive exhibit beautifully captured the essence of the day, fostering a sense of communal spirit and remembrance.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is covered with lush green trees, flowers, and more. There are three entry points from different aspects. To enter this place, you need to buy a ticket at the entrance. There is ample parking space, and parking is only available at the east gate entrance. In the guest rooms, you can see various types of roses in the rose garden, glass house, and flower clock. We recommend visiting this place in spring to see the gardens filled with flowers and green grasses. Entry: 30/person

Really enjoyed my walk through the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens! They have monstrously large trees on display here, very impressive! The grounds, gardens and paths are kept clean. Relaxing way to spend an afternoon walking around or even just sitting amongst the trees. Sadly, the glass house and Cacti buildings were closed when I was there (the glass house looked permanently closed); but that didn't take from my experience here. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Recommend everyone to go through the map before entering as it will help you enjoy the various geographical features and distinctions made inside the park.

These gardens are a huge expanse of land that can be enjoyed on oneโ€™s own or with company. It surely would have been more helpful if a guide could have been assigned to explain the parkโ€™s history (which Iโ€™m not sure of but must go back a few hundred years), but since this is missing wear something comfortable, tie those sneaker laces and explore the park on your own. Walk along the huge rocks and paths through the park, with intermittent green patches, including a band stand and greenhouse that took me back to a different era. The park also has trees that are hundreds of years old and labelled by their scientific name. It also shares a common boundary wall with the Karnataka High Court and areas that are frequented by lovers and families alike. The park even has a tranquil lake to sit by and enjoy the day. I was fortunate enough to witness the flower shower in the park this year, which was spectacular! Entire scenes and forms were created with live flowers which was lovely to watch.

One of the oldest Botanical gardens in the India.. Started by the Hyder Ali and continued by many others.. Main icon of the Bengalore.. rare collection of species of plants.. Flower shows conducted during independence day and Republic day are most attractive.. Some parts of the garden has more crowded and less maintenance.. The floral clock in the main entrance is one of the main attraction..

You will find families and lovebirds more; hardly you will find any species tagged with a it's scientific details. But yes! Great place to relax with loved one. Easy access from Metro (green line). Inside park lots of small food kiosks, although they sell with quite high price, sometime higher than MRP.

An extremely well maintained, nicely cultivated, spacious and protected botanical garden. This wide spread colorful garden is ideal for a fantastic fulfilled family picnics amid the greens, for a soothing, refreshing, active and fun time with friends and also for morning and evening walks, jogs and workouts. There are plenty of gazebos and benches to sit back, relax under the shade of massively tall trees and enjoy the pleasant view of the greenery, colorful flowers, bids chirping and flying around, small animals swiftly moving around or climbing trees and breathe fresh air. There is a small hillock on top of which stands one of the four cardinal towers constructed by Kempegowda II. One can enjoy a splendid view of Bangalore from up there. There is a wide spread lake, a rose garden, an aquarium, a glass house where flower shows take place, a bonsai garden, a topiary garden, a lotus garden and a nursery from where garden supplies, manures and medicines for gardening, seeds, ornamental plants, flowering plants and many other saplings can be purchased. It has four gates. The western gate is situated near Siddapura circle. The eastern gate is close by to Jayanagar. The southern gate is near Ashoka pillar. The northern gate leads to the glass house. The annual mango mela takes place here in the month of June where farmers sell a large variety of mangoes and jack fruit. This enchanting garden has a beautiful lake, variety of birds, a few small animals, enormous number of trees, shrubs, herbs and flowering plants so, this place is a sweet treat for nature lovers and photographers.

Flower shows are conducted every year during the week of Republic day and Independence day, to educate people about the variety of flora and develop public interest in plant conservation and cultivation.[ A bonsai garden has been added in 2002. Apart from this, there is Topiary Garden, Rose garden and Lotus garden inside Lalbagh. An artificial waterfall has been commissioned in 2017 at the far eastern edge of the lake. Lalbagh is a good place for bird watching both in the lake and on the ground. Lalbagh also has a "Garden centre" where citizens can buy ornamental plants. This is managed by Nursery Men's Cooperative society. A geological monument for theย peninsular gneissย formation is also a tourist attraction at the gardens. This monument has been designated by theย Geological Survey of Indiaย on the Lalbagh hill which is made up of 3,000 million-year-old peninsular gneissic rocks. One of the four cardinal towers erected by Kempegowda II, also a major tourist attraction, is seen above this hillock. This tower gives the full view of Bangalore from the top

You can have casual visit if you like, but it's not worth for the 30rs entry ticket. They have mentioned many garden areas inside the botanical garden, but most of them are either locked or empty. Rose garden had only plant and no roses. Japanese garden was plain with few trees. Fossil tree garden had a tiny Fossil tree which is not attractive. No Lotus in Lotus pond. Glass house, Cactus house, Bonsai garden are all locked. Only nice portion is the lake view where it is pleasant. Not a worthy botanical garden for tourists to visit unless there is any flower show or exhibition or event. Didn't visit during a flower show or an event, but expecting it to be nice.

Lalbagh botanical garden is a must if you visit Bangalore. It's a beautiful park with a big lake, gardens and numerous exotic flowering plants and fruit trees. The bonsai garden opens at 10 am and is surely worth a visit. You can also see variety of birds nesting in the trees of this green, enormous park! People exercise here and enjoy being in the park either during early morning hours or before sunset, or throughout the day. It's a truly refreshing feeling. So, I highly recommend it!

Security unnecessarily frisking during this COVID situation. Security checkpoint is becoming place of gather. Outside home made food not allowed packed in lunch boxes, Inside food is being served in disposables. getting badminton, ball not allowed. Too much restrictions are not good for visitors. Most importantly visitors roaming around without mask and no one is questioning. Very badly managed. But, Park is good.

Heaven for lovers of nature. Its very huge in size and the air feels so fresh and refreshing โฃ๏ธ.Sitting under the tall lush green trees with cool breeze gushing through your hair and birds chirping non stop feels so good,it cant be put into words. It boasts of an extremely diverse species of plants.People in the vicinity are lucky to live near this oxygen bank.It also houses a very large (almost a small hill) stone which is claimed to be one of the oldest stones.I visited it during some other time of the year but I have heard highly of the flower and fruit shows that are held at specific times of the year from locals.

The Lalbagh has always been Bangaloreโ€™s flagship attractions and it surely is worth the hype. It's a good place for a picnic with family and friends. Located at the center of banglore. It will take approx 4 hours to see Lalbagh by walking. Better to use a hired battery operated cart for tour(40 min tour -100/head). Main attractions are glass house and lake. Can find different varieties of plants and old tress, it's a heaven for biology major students. Entry frees are budget friendly, but no options for taking digital cameras inside, only mobile phones allowed. Better bring food and water, if planning to see the place by walking. It's a must place to visit, if you are visiting bangalore. Kk

Great place to spend time. Huge area, even though big crowd was there, it was still spacious. Suitable for all kinds of crowds, from families, friend groups to couples. Amazing walks under the huge mango trees. Lots of healthy snacks to chomp on, fresh fruits and juices. Mango mela is going on right now. Only issue is that area is very big and there aren't many maps/signs giving much info about the layout/attractions. So it can get tiring if you want to explore the whole place, they do have a vehicle you can sit and they give a tour and give information.

Good place to chill out. You'll feel calmness, even though it's in middle of Bengaluru but you won't feel the hustle bustle of the city once you're inside this garden. Trees and plants and grass with water bodies and very small rock plateau with a temple on top makes this just beautiful. Must visit for a calm, chilled experience. You can play badminton as well cause there are lot of empty places so being that if you want to.

It is a nice Place for a scenic view of different plant species. ๐Ÿ˜ The place is well maintained.๐Ÿ‘ It's clean. You can feel really peaceful after being here. ๐Ÿ˜Œ Sign boards are in Kannada. I wish they could have also placed English Sign boards.๐Ÿ™† I would also suggest to put map at varies locations. Few water sources are not maintained well. ๐Ÿ‘Ž It's a good Family destination. There is a transport facility by which you can go around. ๐Ÿ‘Œ My overall experience was great. ๐Ÿ˜Š

There are a lot of trees and it's a nice place for morning walks and for kids. There a very big lake inside it. There's a pond inside. To visit the full garden you need 3-4 hours. It's very pleasant. There are few gates, if you enter from main gate, there will be a rock just after you enter. The entry fee is nominal too.

Nice experience of visiting such a mass collection of greenery that can give you pleasant mood......there were pruned bushes, small statues, a huge glasshouse, large trees especially a gigantic silk wood tree, Flowers, rose garden....... Food packets and bottles are restricted in the premises... ..try to walk in groups as the entry gates and pathways may get bit confused Try to avoid off season visit. . Also before visiting try to understand the interesting facts and history behind the spot

They have a wide range of plants there, however, they do not last much once you bring them home. I've other plants from different nurseries and they're better than this one. The rate of every plant is so high, it's as much as a private nursery. The staff is not helpful at all, in fact one of us asked for tips for just giving some information about a plant. They have a supply shop claiming to have all the garden needs but they don't even have basic things like a scissor. Would not recommend it at all.

The place is simple peaceful to visit on weekends or after hectic day tasks. Ancient trees are clearly giving us a feeling that we're reached in the museum of live trees. Fresh washroom facilities, restroomms and dining should be provided. Entry fee is okay.

A scenic lush green beauty. Lake view is also magnificent. It is a pleasure to roam within nature and breathe fresh air to calm and soothe the mind. However, there are some neglects. The Bonsai area is closed. Lotus pond has no lotus. Cactus house is also not properly maintained.

The place was aesthetic and soothing. It's quite massive in terms of area. The place was well managed and you could easily find fruits and drinks which were available after every 200 m. I couldn't visit the entire place because I was kind of short on time, but I would highly recommend everyone to visit this place. It is a great tourist attraction.

Place is good to visit. But there are snakes inside the park, be very careful watch your step. A big and dangerous snake came accidentally under my feet. The Gardner said it doesn't do anything. Maybe it is a non venomous snake. Be careful if you are taking your kids to this place.

Our school had taken for a trip to lalbagh (5th std ) overall the scenery were good we enjoyed but the reason why I am giving this place 2 stars is restrooms didn't have water the staffs near the washrooms were way too rude and when we reached the food zone there was a shop named "hopcoms juices and snacks" when we gave the money we didn't get the product by saying that we did not give them money and the products Overpriced than the actual price.....also the shopkeeper were also rude so I don't recommend this place....๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

It's a good place to visit in Bangalore. It has an artificial waterfall(timings are specific) and many small parks inside. The price of a ticket was Rs30 till my last visit. Its a must visit place for nature lovers. I had a great experience with my college friends there. The lake was calming and the environment was good. I really love this place and I would recommend for you too.
