Good coffee, really good red velvet cupcakes. The set up is very modest, but it is a nice spot.

The wonderful aroma of freshly baked treats greets you when you walk in and that's when you know, this is the type of bakery that used to exist as standard back in our parents' time. We were quite late in the day so most of their display was finished but managed to get carrot cake, some bread, cheesecake, cinnamon roll, and some decadent looking cake with whipped cream on top and I have no idea what it is but it was the last one left and it looked fantastic! We shall definitely return but at an earlier time of day where I hear the queue is long but worth the wait. Great service from Joleen.

Best bakery in Randburg! Or even joburg. Small and quaint but delicious treats and good prices too. Pies are great as well. If you are around the area do yourself a favour and pay them a visit

A phoenix rises from the ashes. So much nicer than it used to be at the old location (which was gutted by fire, for those not in the know). The coffee shop has a lovely atmosphere (wood burning fireplace!), tasty food, very reasonable prices! It was extremely busy when I was there, so the service was a little slow, but it didn't detract from my experience at all. You can also take-away sweet and savoury treats, and there is a take-away meal of the day for those who don't have time to sit down.

The hidden gem of jhb. A quaint, cozy, simply marvelous restaurant with unique and delicious home-made recipes. Inside and outside seating in a beautiful garden. I wish I could eat there every day.

This is a wonderful little cosy bakery that offers a good sit down experience. The waiters are attentive and welcoming to all that visit them. Not the sort of place one would visit if you are looking for a vibrant dining experience, but for others you can't deny the authentic genuine nature of this bakery and the quality they bring. They were amazing. The pancake was DIVINE 👌 All food here is top quality and service is excellent. There is definitely abit of chaos with everything going on if you sit in, but besides that it's lovely!

They also have a seating area with tables where you can enjoy a cup of coffee ☕ with any of the delicious delicacies from the bakery or order breakfast or lunch 🥓🥪🥞🧇 from their restaurant menu. Nice little Bakery, big on pastry. Their croissants are incredibly good. Picked up a loaf ciabatta and it was really good. Great for takeaways , sitting in not so much, although the delicious all day breakfast menu.. it’s homey and cozy, but lacks the vibrant atmosphere. Will be going back for bread.

It is busy on a Saturday Morning with the breakfast run. We had breakfast which was average with the exception of the freshly baked bread. Great coffee. But the confectionery items are litteraly in a class of its own. The range is awesome. Made with only the best products and reasonable prices. Please go and check it out.

We went to Not Bread Alone for coffee and ended up having breakfast. The inside was warm with a fire going and was filled with people. The coffee was served so quickly - and hot. The breakfast came equally fast despite their being busy. They still blessed my husband with a cupcake for his birthday. Such a pleasant, affordable experience, thank you!

So aptly named Not Bread Alone but rather on cakes and lovely pastries. I was just in pastry heaven guys. The manager/owner ( not sure which) gifted my friend and I with a chocolate Danish. Oh so delish....on the house! And just because it was our first visit! We both got ourselves the baked cheese cake tartlets and pies for lunch. Can I tell you even more Heavenly. They have a coffee shop as well if you're in the mood for a sit down. Prices are reasonable.

Wow, found a little gem. Could not believe all the yummiest eats. Everywhere, all around you, and reasonable prices. I had the bobotie pie with gravy and ordered another to take home.

Popped in this morning quickly as I've driven past there multiple times. Not disappointed at all. Nice variety of baked goods. We tried the Pepper steak pies as well as the chorizo quiche. Really fresh and has a distinctive homemade taste to it. Highly recommend, will be back again.

They have a variety of delicious baked goods but unfortunately everything seems to constantly be sold out. The premises are also very cramped and it can be a bit awkward to get to the items you want.

This is such a lekker place. Freshest pies and pastry ever. Only thing they fall short on is space. It gets way to crowded and cramped inside.

I took my young son on a journey to buy some pies. The bakery is a little out of the way for us, but we had been told the pies were definitely worth it. The place was certainly busy. So, I guess it has a reputation. Oddly enough - No sooner had I placed a single foot over the threshold, a staff member found it prudent to shout at us in Afrikaans, something in the vein of “Get to the back of the line”. In my defense, this was my first time visiting the store. From the outside, the non-restaurant side of the bakery appears to be self-service – meaning, you grab what you would like to purchase from the shelves and THEN join the queue to pay for said items. Considering only a quarter of my being was attempting to enter the store at this stage, I would have appreciated a polite greeting and perhaps an explanation of the system in place - far more than having someone irritated with me for not automatically being aware of the system itself. Anyway, we made bacon rolls at home instead. I’ll award one star for having saved me some money today (barring petrol). Perhaps a great deal of money in the long run had the pies been as good as we were told.

They have the most amazing treats. A special shout out to their custard slice, it's one of the best things I've ever eaten. The staff there is also really friendly.

Almond croissants and nutted brownies are only served on the weekends, come early before 9:30 because they run-out quickly. I have to say this place is a heavenly, from the moment you walk in the staff is so attentive and helpful. Then there's the baked good...woah this review can't do justice to the heaven you taste in those baked goods. Just a heads up you be going back there alot...one doesn't simply visit Not Bread alone once...don't say I didn't warn you.

The product is excellent and quite honestly I don't know how they cope with such a huge range. With COVID precautions service is understandably not as fast as one would like but the product is well worth the wait!!!

Had the best chocolate croissant on Wednesday. Flaky with a crunchy bite on the outside and super soft and fluffy on the inside with the perfect amount of chocolate ooze. Yum!
