Very good experience! Dr. Kline treated my pigeon very well and listened to me intently when I was explaining a concern about my pigeon’s health. He handled him gently and respectfully. The office is also very large and open and beautiful. Very comfortable waiting room and nice environment. Friendly staff. Reasonable exam cost. Definitely taking my pigeon here again!

Dr. Lyn Edmonson is a blessing! Since owning Chinese Shar Pei since 1999 I have finally found the most knowledgeable, friendly and caring vet ever! She connects with my Shar Pei amazingly! Really takes time to build a bond with my NaiRobi! She did major surgery for my girl and we had wonderful results!

They take great care of our pup and I never feel like they are trying to sell us something. They genuinely care about the pets they see and do a great job keeping an anxious dog as calm as they can!

I feel so lucky to be able to take our little boy Puffy to this VCA animal hospital. The vets are very nice, Compassionate, gentle and they actually listen and discuss what they recommend and provide all the information to you. The techs are great and so is the front staff. We have been there many times when we adopted Puffy we found out he has many health problems. I highly recommend West Suburban and everytime we go I chat with the other patients moms and dads in the waiting room n they too rave abt this place! I just want to say thanks to all of the VCA West Suburban staff because it really shows how much u all really care abt ur patients!!

After 35 years, four dogs, a cat and a fifth dog by my son before he moved away... The best you can hope for is 3-4 weeks to actually see a doctor/vet. The staff is well meaning, but once the VCA bought them, the tests went through the roof, the vets are always non-existent, and they do not call back in the timeframe they promise. Avoid this vet for anything but routine, yearly check-ups. We will no longer trust them with care of our pets.

This place is wonderful. We had a very sick hamster and they were so kind during the process of putting her down and even gave us her paw imprints and name in a clay circle!! Highly recommend them ❤️

Tank, our 9 yr old Great Dane mix has been a patient here since 2017, and has always received excellent care. He always sees his best friend, Dr Zary, but yesterday Tank wasn’t feeling his best, so we were able to get in and meet Dr. Muehrcke! Dr Muehrcke spent 2 hours of her time examining Tank thoroughly with a physical exam, X-rays, and an ultrasound to find out what was causing his unusual symptoms. She laid on the floor petting him and making sure he wasn’t anxious. She is so loving and caring. She also made sure Dr. Zary was informed of Tank’s issues. He even took some time to come check on Tank. Matt, the vet tech is also so very loving and kind. We can’t thank the entire staff at VCA West Suburban enough for their loving care and concerns. I’m happy to say Tank is doing so much better today!!!🥰

Called to get my cat in because he had a terrible urinary track infection and totally lethargic. After using this practive for 15 years they told me they could not see my cat in for a week. Goodbye to you. You obvioulsy do not care about the animals anymore. Dr Main was a great loss to this business!

Dr Child’s is a wonderful Veterinarian. She is gentle, caring and really listens. AND, she is so competent. She always explains her thinking and shares the science.

We could not be happier without our experience with this vet clinic. Our dog Zoe is scared easily to the point she needs sedation for her appointments. The staff took the time to call us and suggest we come in early for our appointment so there would be minimal distractions to Zoe. Dr. Zary and the staff were so helpful and compassionate towards Zoe and us. We trust them completely with our dogs health. We highly reccommed this vet clinic and staff . We will never go anywhete else.

I have 2 dogs, different breeds. I have been seen by 4 different veterans and they have all been amazing. Everyone at this location is friendly and helpful. I recommend them to anyone looking for a new vet.

I love this vet! I've been taking my chinchilla Butters here for years. He mainly sees Dr. Zary, but has also seen other doctors. The whole staff is so so incredibly nice and have gone above and beyond on more than one occasion to provide my pet with his prescription or critical care food when he was sick. I drive 30 minutes to come here when there are many choices closer to me!

I love West Suburban for my ferrets and the shelter ferrets I rehab. Dr Zary and Dr Childs are the best. The whole entire clinic team is absolutely wonderful, professional and helpful. I've been to a couple other exotic vets and I can't say enough great things about West Suburban. Dr Zary & Dr Childs are knowledgeable, compassionate & caring. When my adopted ferret Sybil was coming to her end with her insulinoma battle that Dr Zary did everything he could to help her, Dr Childs was able to stay a little over her shift to help me put my girl to rest. I also rehab a lot of shelter ferrets and if it is beyond my skills, their clinic will try to fit them in when possible for emergency evaluation. It is those kinds of things to let you know these vets and their staff care and will do what they can, when they can. It is those little things, that you are grateful for and always remember. From the pleasant front desk, to the caring supporting staff, onto the compassionate techs and finally to the absolutely wonderful vets, everyone has been kind and supportive. As quality exotic vets in the Chicagoland area are becoming increasingly harder to find, hoping West Suburban can increase their exotic vet staff as they are the place to go and I won't take my ferrets anywhere else now.

Fine for general issues but awful for specialized problems. VCA diagnosed my senior dog with diabetes and sent me home with zero education on how to manage it. The information Dr Childs gave me was incorrect and even harmful which I learned on my own. As an advocate for my pet's health, I did research and when I brought my findings and questions to the conversation she would become snotty and did not want to hear my input or collaborate; she only wanted to tell me what to do. Completely lacking in knowledge on the realities of day to day management of diabetes, unaware of and even closed off to alternative insulins that exist (work just as well as what they sell @ the vet at lower cost). She gave me no pointers on diet adjustment to bring blood sugar down and at one point told me i was poorly managing him. Additionally, VCA charges $50 for a blood sugar test which is the cost of a one-month supply of test strips. Outrageous! I have educated myself and been successfully managing the diabetes with a new vet office that works WITH me.

After going to another veterinarian for the past 3 years, I decided it was time for a change. I was referred by a friend to check out VCA West Suburban Veterinary Hospital in Westmont due to their great experience there, especially with Dr. McCallion. I was immediately greeted with friendly smiles from the front desk and they quickly got me checked in. Dr. McCallion takes his time to explain what he is doing and the best options for my dog’s health. My dog LOVED Dr. McCallion due to his careful and compassionate approach. Overall, VCA West Suburban Veterinary Hospital in Westmont was a 5 out of 5 stars experience. I will absolutely be back and highly recommend them to anyone out there looking for a new veterinarian.

Compassionate and caring Vets and staff. Started with the practice over 20 years ago. Very knowledgeable and reliable Team. Thank you for your care, you truly all show how passionate you are with animals. Very pleased with the care of our 2 kitties and Pepper especially as this poor pouch was a frequent flyer this year. This dog who walks into the office as if it's her second home so excited to see you guys :). THANK YOU Dr Zary and Dr McCallion for spending time answering all our questions regarding our silly dog -so much time whether during a visit, or via phone calls. A+++ vet team! I forgot to thank Dr Muercke, Kline and Childs for taking care of our kitties :)!

The best ferret vets I’ve ever had. Dr. Childs, Dr. Zary, and Dr. Kline are all so knowledgeable and compassionate, and they explain everything clearly and patiently. All of the staff is so friendly. We’re really lucky to have them in Chicago
