Arrived and asked if we could get a booth. Waitress said she had a table for 3 and I asked if we could wait or switch if one became available because one of us was not comfortable in a chair. She said I’m not sure when that will be and walked us over to a very small table. A booth opened up immediately so we moved before we had even ordered. She came running over and said “I told you you can’t switch tables” in an EXTREMELY RUDE MANNER so we left. The comfort of your guests should be your primary concern. I have never been to a restaurant that doesn’t accommodate a guest’s physical needs.

My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time today and it was a great experience. The food was fresh and everything was cooked well. The price is a smidge on the high side for breakfast food but the quality makes it worth it. We would definitely come back.

Great food breakfast and lunch. You won't go wrong. Fair prices. Great friendly outgoing staff. If you are in town for a visit and want a great breakfast / early lunch place downtown St Joe give them a try!

We love this place & the staff (Nikki & Crystal) we’re these best. Nice small hometown cafe with good food. My husband & I were very saddened when we learned they were closing. Hopefully another similar restaurant will take its place & continue to cater to the locals like they have for so many years. You will be missed.

For the price, portion sizes were small. Also, there seems to be a problem with the kitchen. It took 30 minutes for our food to come out. It was busy, but a diner should be able to get orders out more quickly.

Place has some good character and the waitresses were friendly. Food was good. Giving a mixed review because there is a fruit fly problem. Bathroom was absolutely gross because of the fruit flys and we had numerous flying all over our table and food. Perhaps I’ll give them another try in 6 months to see if it’s any cleaner.

Thornton's Hometown Cafe, a place so hidden it makes you wonder if it's part of a government conspiracy or just shy. Stepping in here is like falling down a culinary rabbit hole into a world where breakfast is king and the clock always reads 'morning'. The food? Served hot enough to make you believe in miracles, or at least in the power of a good griddle. This joint is buzzing like a beehive on a caffeine kick, and the server? Friendlier than a politician in an election year. It's a true local gem, the kind you stumble upon and then can't stop bragging about, like discovering a secret society or a new planet. It's like a rite of passage into the realm of real breakfast. You don't just eat and leave; you become part of a tradition, an unspoken club of satisfied stomachs. Will we return? It's not a question, it's a certainty, like the sun rising or taxes. Thornton's isn't just a cafe; it's a breakfast odyssey.

I can't believe I've been coming to St Joe for 25 years and never knew about this place. A great little old school breakfast joint. Just your standard faire, but good. Reasonable prices and we thought the service was very good by today's standards. A friendly young man as the host and the servers were very friendly, authentic, and attentive.

We stopped for a late breakfast. The food was outstanding. Perfect diner comfort food. The biscuits and gravy fueled me up for a day at the beach. Good prices and service. Sorry that I don't live closer to stop again.

Super good place to eat at. The workers there are very friendly and the breakfast was a 10/10. Pancakes were very large and very good. The portion sizes were on the bigger size but don't let that stir you away. This was a plus in my opinion! The cost for the food was purportionate for the food size. Wonderful place and definitely going back! It's also locally owned by a wonderful lady. Next time you're in the area looking for a place to eat definitely consider going here!
