Beautiful place to take excellent photos of the sunsets. Excellent family park with paid parking. Adequate amenities which include restrooms (in season) grills and a great play ground for the children. Not a safe place to swim with children. Reason for 4 stars is the limited parking spots, so if you want to make it a day at the beach, plan on being there early! Enjoy.

We love driving by the lake at stopping at Lions Park. The waves crash and splash is fascinating to watch. We also love to get out and relax on the swings. Lots of activities for the kids and usually not as busy as Silver Beach. They also have a clean bathroom. The best thing is the sunsets. Spectacular!

Visited 3/21/21, parking was free. Mostly north end of beach was our visit area. playground equipment was avail, beach was quite short and was not up to the water. Beach led to metal cofferdam with a 3-4' drop into maybe 5' of water. Blocks of concrete and erosion abatement coffer walls give something to climb on but prob no swimming. Bathroom and showers when open. Alot of equipment to play on, grilles, benches, and shelters you can rent.

Went with my mother and three children and we all enjoyed the beach. BEWARE OF PARKING - YOU MUST PAY. I learned this the hard way. When you have never been to the area and all you are focusing on is finding a parking spot you miss the phone-booth looking machine that said "Pay Here", on top of it. I saw it when we were leaving and after I got a $40 ticket. Maybe if we weren't a Boomer and GenXer, we would have thought it odd that there was a phone booth...OH...and if you are from those generations, thw booth is blue...just like the phone booths were. Maybe if it was bright orange it wouldn't have been so dismissive. Other than the $40 parking for me ($7 if you use the "phone booth") it was really enjoyable. OH....and there is a high chance you may need to parallel park...so, there is that anxiety on top of finding a parking spot on a super busy summer Saturday.

Ever since I was in high school Lions Park has been specifically my favorite spot on the beach to go for privacy and beautiful scenery. I like to swing and watch the sunset, there isn't a lot of riff raff that far down from silver beach, and its just a local person's staple beach for everything

The water was so blue. The kids had an awesome time and we didn't even get in the water. I have always loved Lions Beach.

Make sure you pay or have a county permit!! Beautiful spot, loved the playground, bathrooms and changing rooms! But we did get a ticket as not all parking spaces are marked clearly that you have to pay. So becareful!

Beautiful beach and park. Quiet enough you can hear the waves crash. Lots of seagulls flying above. No restrooms. Closest restroom is at the top of the bluff or Silver beach. Watch out for strong undertows. No lifeguards SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK. ENJOY!

Really good park and beach, I like clean water, and not fast going deep, so kids play pretty safe in the water (parents, please still attention to your kids). Also water mostly warm in this area during season. I have been here 3 times, and parking all the time was available. Make sure to pay for parking, officers driving by every hour and spread tickets so easy.

Feeding the birds...looking at beautiful sky and clouds..the power of the lakes trying to jump high and go over the wall of ice...

This is one of the best public beaches in our county, I love this place more because my grandparents had a home at the top of the stairs which is the beach access at the top of the bluff, we actually spread my fathers ashes beyond the woods out there because he used to bring us down there past the breakers when we were younger, we spent A LOT of time down there and it is a beautiful place

7 dollars to park which isnt bad. Great playground and barbecue area. The public restrooms were clean. The beach area was pretty dirty, meaning a lot of trash.

What a great little park! Not as crowded as popular Silver Beach, and offering great shade from magnificent trees, we spent a truly enjoyable day here. There's restrooms, picnic tables, and a children's park- but it really isn't ideal for littles to swim, as the approach to the water is from a platform. It was too cold and wavy today anyway- so no loss. The sunset was magnificent!

Great place to park and view the lake and it has an over look that you can also park at. It has more beach than Silver beach does anymore. And in the winter you don't have to pay to park like you do in the summer.

A great place to a sunset, people watch and/or see the waves crashing over the seawall! Plenty of space, covered to have a picnic, modern bathrooms and a large playground area. If you are going there a fee of $40 covers the season (May to October). Lion's Park is our favorite destination in St. Joe!
