Spent a long weekend (29 April - 1 May) to attend a family wedding in St. Joseph Michigan at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. What a terrific place to stay-- directly across from the Lake! It was such a nice view, even on cloudy, overcast days. St. Joseph, the city is really pretty and the Holiday Inn Express is minutes from great food, shopping or just a sight-seeing trip in the car admiring all the beautiful homes. The most impressive part of our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in St. Joseph was the staff. Every single staff member from the desk clerk to the on-site maintenance guy was friendly, helpful and genuinely nice! The folks who took care of breakfast were EXCEPTIONAL!!! They made sure there was plenty of food and that it was hot and fresh. They interacted with everyone, making sure we all had what we wanted and the area was very clean and well stocked with plates, napkins, tea bags---absolutely everything! The rooms were clean, the housekeeping staff provided us with plenty of extra towels at our request. Overall the place was quiet, not a lot of noise, so sleeping wasn't difficult. Plenty of parking with an Italian Bar and Restaurant just a stroll across the parking lot. We would certainly stay there again if we ever return to St. Joseph.

This hotel has the MOST wonderful staff !! Very kind and attentive. The rooms are VERY CLEAN and do NOT have a musty smell so I was so happy about that. The bed was very comfy!! House cleaning needs to step up a little inside with under the cushions and I noticed the refrigerator door had prints and microwave blinking at 27. Just bring your own sanitizing wipes and you will be good. Silver Beach is a 5 minute drive. Overall, you have a clean hotel with very NICE and attentive staff. Thank you so much!!

This was a nice place to stay. Our room didn't have the lake view but it was a short walk across the street to see the lake. There are picnic tables set up for hotel guests, but get there early if you want to use them! Amazing sunset from this view!! The bed was comfy, but the chair and ottoman were pretty hard, and hard to get out of. We liked the Kuerig coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was not the full option, it was continental style with no hot prepared food, as we expected. I get that it is because of short staff, but nothing in the hotel features mentioned that. We liked that there was a nice restaurant right next door.

We had a GREAT time at this hotel! It is in a PERFECT location! We had a balcony with beautiful views of the sunsets on Lake Michigan. The rooms, pool, and hot tub were very clean. All of the staff that I met during our stay were all extremely polite and very helpful!! We will definitely be staying here again!! My only small complaint is about the gym. It was tiny and really didn't have any equipment besides a treadmill and a bike.

Gorgeous huge rooms, comfy beds and beautiful lobby. Incredible front desk staff. Took 15 minutes to collect baggage they stored for me after checkout but they were extremely nice to keep the baggage without creating a hassle. The reception guy Mr Patel is who checked me in was warm and inviting. Definitely recommended if you have to be in the area for Family vacation or business .City itself is very beautiful and from hotel lake sunset view is incredible!

Arrived at the hotel after spending time at the beach. Got ready to go to sleep and went to make the bed from the sofa and there were chips left over from previous guest. There was not any extra laundry to even remake the bed. Hotel clerk did come and remake the bed and told us to talk to manager in the morning. Spoke to manager next morning and he told us the owner of this hotel is “a different breed” and could not discount us anymore. Not very accommodating and wouldn’t help us out as the “hotel was booked up”. When we closed the bed we also found bags of chips left over. Was also told “housekeeping is very strapped right now”. If I’m spending this amount of money I at least expect a clean room. Would not stay here again due to cleanliness of room and management being less than helpful.

Only 5min from the beach everything is clean and nice! HUGE shout out to the people who run breakfast, those women (and I think one dude this time) always put in effort and the head lady is the nicest person at that hotel! Her extremely friendly attitude literally was the main reason I used the same hotel again, it just feels good knowing good people are working at a place you're sleeping at. Her energy makes your morning flow so well! I love this whole area. Such a shame rich ppl keep others out by buying up all the housing and only using it for a few months :) only downside to the hotel is the price - this is a decent hotel NOT a super fancy one, the prices don't match the hotel rooms, you can stay ON the beach in Florida for the Same price as staying near a lake beach? Come on... other than that ,great experience.

We stayed here Christmas Eve. Our only complaint was the tub was broken. We had to stuff a washcloth down between the plug and the drain to be able to use the spa tub. We were offered a lake view room as a upgrade since the tub was technically broken. We chose to stick to the room we rented cause we really wanted to find a way to use the tub cause this trip was our Christmas to one another. The hotel itself is beautiful. They had breakfast sandwiches and cereal and muffins for breakfast. More than most places offer anymore. They also have a pool and a gym that overlooks the pool and hot tub. We would definitely stay here again. Well worth the price and the location is perfect.

Another time travel Holiday Inn. If you hit your head and woke up at this hotel, you would think it was 1989. They haven’t changed a thing. Here is an idea, every year fix up one room. There would be 33 remodeled rooms by now. Ok, it’s not all bad. The price is ok. The location is amazing. Right on the lake. Sunsets are incredible. St. Joseph’s and Benton Harbor are cute towns. The front desk was friendly. Also they have an indoor pool and hot tub which are nice. Kids will love the place and you can point out things you remember when you were a kid.

Excellent location, walk across the street for a beautiful overlook of Lake Michigan. Overall the same as most Holiday Inn express rooms. 75% more to stay here than a room without a view. It was worth it for the location and the staff was friendly with a clean and safe atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Complementary breakfast could have been better compared to the South Bend Indiana Holiday Inn express location we stayed in the night before. No bacon, no cheese omelettes, boiled sausage patties, no sausage links, no bananas. May 17-18, 2022

Overall an okay experience. The woman at the front desk was sweet and helpful. We were in suite 104. The room is spacious and wonderful. The patio is nice and perfect to watch the sunset. The room overall feels a little grimey. The edges of the room were dirty, especially the bathroom. There were 6 hairs in the bathroom, not counting the extra hair that could have been mine. The tub walls were anything but clean. Same with the shampoo/conditioner dispenser. We chose not to get in the hot tub as it appeared to have a green tinge along all the edges.

Large clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly and very helpful staff, delicious free breakfast, well kept pool and hot tub..amazing bang for the buck! Across the street you can watch beautiful sunsets on a cliff by the beach! Definitely will return if we go back to St Joseph.

The hotel is located across the street from a Lake Michigan bluff overlooking the beautiful lake. Nice hotel, but quite pricey. The rooms were clean, the staff was super nice and the included was a, well, Holiday Inn breakfast. Efficient and good. There are a few rooms with the lake view, but if you dont have one, it is an easy walk across the street to watch the sunset.

Right next to Lake Michigan. Was so wonderful waking up to the view of the lake and then taking a 4 min walk to Lake Michigan. Best hotel I’ve stayed at on this vacation. I love the staff and the hotel. Worth the extra money to experience a sunset like that. 4 minutes and just stand in awe and all your stress melts away beholding such a wonder. Love love loved this place will be back. Also amazing bed. Very clean room and very romantic and relaxing place to stay.

The location is wonderful just a 6 minute drive to the beach and downtown! View of the lake across the street. The breakfast was great and the manager of the breakfast buffet was wonderful and so helpful and friendly. The rooms need some major cleaning and updating! Our air conditioning units were full of mold along with mold on the curtains for the units causing most of us be up coughing all night.

Nice location for our winetasting plans and lakefront view with bonus of sunsets. Not finest of furnishings but very comfy bed and pillows so I slept great. Plus microwave and fridge kitchen setup to accommodate our carryout while we enjoy the view and another front row seat for the sunset.

This was a nice stop. We got a king room with balcony and lake view. The hit tub was nice and hot. It felt so good. The room was clean and comfortable and the Breakfast was very good. The best part was the customer service. MJ (Michael) went above and beyond to help us. Good Customer service isn’t very common anymore so we really appreciated his help. Thank you again Michael. 🙂

I was so impressed by the hotel and its staff. It was a wonderful place to stay and we will come back. In particular, I would like to thank Virginia, the Kitchen Manager. She was amazing!! She greeted us and everyone everyday and made sure the food was always stocked and hot. I can honestly say I don't recall this ever happening anywhere else we have stayed. Wonderful person. Holiday Inn Express is lucky to have her!!

Great Lake view balcony room was awesome! Had our free breakfast with a great staff serving it up. Fun in the sun at Silver beach and quiet night in our room on our balcony with the summer breeze blowing in! Felt like a tropical vacation without the flights near to our Indiana home! Unfortunately the cool restaurant that was on site has closed. Pool was warm.

The room was nice and beds were comfortable. The only problem I had is that there were ants in the pool area. My son stood still on the edge of the pool for a minute and ended up with about 10 ants crawling on him.

Incredible attention to detail! it's the little touches that make this ideal-location and luxury-like hotel the place to stay. I've lived here all my life, and it's one of the top hotels in the county. Highly recommend!

Recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in St. Joseph for two nights while on a road trip. I can't say enough good things about the staff and management at this hotel. Upon checking in, we found out that a duplicate reservation was made via our AAA travel service and management went to great lengths to help us. They were honest, kind, and transparent with their systems. The hotel had plenty of parking and the room came standard. We expected there to be a better lake view (if not for all of the trees&brush), but enjoyed the complementary breakfast on the picnic tables across the street overlooking the view. While the hotel is overpriced for the experience and distance from downtown, I was very impressed by the human touch of the staff. A big shout out to Tyler and Paresh who made our trip memorable instead of dissapointing. Thanks again!

Great family hotel. Got a bunk bed suite. Kids loved it. Comfy bed with lots of pillows. Premium shampoo and conditioner. Awesome shower head. Nice pool and hot tub. Excellent hot breakfast with eggs and sausage. Easy check in. Nice staff. Great all around and will come back.

Great place to take children. Friendly staff. Pool area was nice. Small pool but warm enough for me to swim (most are too cold for me). Hot breakfast was good with many different options. There was also a nice courtyard. The room we had was well worth what we paid for the weekend.

We needed a last minute place to stay due to weather/long road trip. The price given at the desk was certainly higher than we tend to pay (we usually find deals with Priceline, etc.). But the location was ideal, safe area, and old school charm of a unique hotel. There’s car, dog, and horse carousel statues for pictures & kids to climb on in the lobby. Breakfast was good—yummy cinnamon rolls, protein options, and plenty of seating even with a good crowd. The first room we had was musty/smoke smelling, but we were given a different room that worked well. Beds were great, and the room could have been a little cleaner/better (vacuumed better/newer towels/better shower water), but the hotel all in all was good in a pinch. Staff at front desk and in dining area were helpful and positive.
