Disappointed to have to write this review. Hotel was in an excellent location. It was dated but looked like the decor was recently renovated so it was nice enough. Paid $500 for the room for 1 night & found 3 long strands of hair & sand in the bathtub. Later found a used contact on the bathroom floor. Clearly the bathroom was not cleaned. Reported this to the front desk & was told the manager would speak to me. I waited with my 2 young kids. The manager walked past me but never spoke to me & instead told the front desk to discount the room $30. I paid full price for a clean room & that is not what I got. The manager should’ve spoken to me & the discount given was so insignificant to be meaningful. Would not stay here again & do not recommend.

The hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, and the room was good sized, but I was honestly surprised at how dated and grungy it was for the price tag. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and felt a bit like a dungeon. And while we were there for two days, Friday and Saturday, only one elevator worked. And various doors were locked in the stairwells so it was a major inconvenience to get downstairs and back up with breakfast. Also the hotel decided that the weekend would be a good time to paint the front door and block off an entire entrance?? I don't understand that at all. Overall the experience wasn't terrible and if I had paid $150 a night for the room it would have been fine. But for $300? I will never be back.

If anyone is paying $460 a night and getting taken advantage of the season, the rooms better not be very outdated like they were. Stuck in 1990’s. Bathroom was small. We should be able to get in a restaurant, get discount or at least offered a free breakfast for that price. No views of water. Family chose place for family trip so we had to stay here. But after stay, we thought it was not worth it. We will not be back. Zero perks for all that money.

The Bistro - MAJOR props to the chef. The Shakshuka was on point and amazing. 5/5 every breakfast was fantastic. Service was good. Location 5/5 Bistro 5/5 Room 2/5 due to the rock hard furniture. I am pretty sure they reserve the better rooms for clients who pay full price and reserve the 'lesser rooms' for group rated clients. Doesn't make sense to me that this room would be considered 3 star. But I could be wrong. Bistro Service 5/5 Hotel Service 2/5 This whole experience would have been a 5 star review... Except they messed up my pre authorization and booked me a day short. The customer service gal (manager I believe) was very short and a bit pretentious with me regarding it when I asked for a new key. When I checked out because I was just not feeling it from the service. They charged me a late check out fee. Even though my prior authorization form explicitly said the following day was my actual check out time. Cordiality should be universal if you're working customer service at a hotel check in. Not selective based on your clientele. I had a great stay overall... But the final day customer service dropped the ball majorly.

Beautiful hotel. Almost all of the staff was very kind. Great rooms with a great view. Very fair nightly rates. Room Service breakfast was quite delicious. The complimentary breakfast was good as well. Did have a few small issues. Overall room cleanliness could have been a little better. Unfortunately a used (Wet) towel from a previous visitor was still hanging in the bathroom. Also had a minor insect issue in the room (Ants). Other than that mostly enjoyed my stay and would probably return again in the future.

Great hotel. Beautiful but when we found out our room service should not be accepting cash we knew we were taken for about 80.00 bucks. The person bringing the food said it must be cash. Found out on the next visit that way a lie. But besides that wonderful hotel

Our first time here and we absolutely loved this hotel! Last minute stay and there was room availability so we didn't even realize til we got here the wonderful location across from the lakefront, beach and walking down the block to the cute town! Easy free parking adjacent to the hotel - our room was a king suite with park view and very clean and spacious. We did not get to try the restaurant which we hear is very good as we were walking around town and also drove to the nearby towns to explore. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely plan to be back!

The location is about as convenient as you'll find. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room (6th floor, city view) was pretty large and very clean. The operable window was a big plus. It's a pretty solidly built hotel, as we didn't hear any noise from people next to, above, or below us. Great experience.

Highlight was the front desk woman (Marissa) who helped check us in and answer any of our questions throughout our short stay. Definitely an asset to the Hotel! Rest of staff was very friendly and accommodating as well but Marissa shined and stood out. Room was comfortable and perfect for our needs of 3 people being there for a family wedding.

Beautiful old style classic hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the location was really nice in this pretty town on the water. Sunset views were amazing. We would definitely go back again!!!

Stayed here because we wanted someplace on the water. WOW!! Rooms were great for the price and the food at the restaurant is INCREDIBLE!!! We've stayed here 4 times now for the food and service. Blown away by the food, it's impossible to get better food somewhere else. Front desk is always helpful, Bob and Greg pour a great drink, Ann is a wonderful waitress and the Chef is five star!!

Rooms are from the 60s with new tv's. Paying 180 a nite I would expect newer style room. The restaurant got remodeled but not the rooms. It's a shame to charge close to 200 dollars nite with old nasty rooms. The only thing nice about this hotel is the lake being across the street. The holiday Inn has new rooms and only 3 blocks away.

This past weekend, our organization hosted an appreciation event in the "Library Room" at the Boulevard Inn. It was one of the easiest events I've ever had to "coordinate" - the Events team at the Boulevard Inn did all the heavy lifting. I arrived an hour early to check out the space and set up my welcome table and easel display to find that everything else was already prepared: the Library room set up was beautifully done, well organized, and showed attention to detail -- down to the ambient music they selected to play in the background which perfectly suited our event! The drinks served at the bar and the selection of nibbles laid out were fresh, delicious, great quality, and attractively presented. Everything went smoothly -- our guests had a wonderful time and we received many compliments. All staff my group encountered were professional and helpful. Special kudos to Natalie, Bob, and Katie for their special attention that helped make this informal event an elegant success! Thank you, we will be back!!

My boyfriend and I booked here same day thankfully they had a cancellation on 7/29 and got us in to stay and it was great we love it here! We had got screwed on our original hotel we booked based off fake photos and reviews online for Silver beach hotel, we walked in and had to walk out it was so bad, it was my birthday and we were excited to stay so close to the water. Thankfully we called twice on Saturday morning to try to see if the Boulevard Inn had any openings as it was in a great location in the heart of downtown and SO close to lake. Mary got us in and said she just had a cancellation so we were able to get in for the day/night- she was sooo sweet. She upgraded our room to a lake view room suite instead of city view for no charge and got a bottle of wine for my birthday. Needless to say this place was awesome our king suite was huge, clean, smart tvs and the bed was so comfy! Thank you Mary!!!!!

Staff was very friendly and courteous, hotel was clean and well kept. Furniture left something to be desired, the couch in our room was awful. Bathroom was really small for the overall size of the suite. My biggest complaint was the lack of a 'park view' that we reserved. Both windows in our room had a tree right up against them blocking the view. Hotel was not busy at all, so there was no reason to assign us a room that didn't have the view we paid for. They were using a new reservation system which was taking forever, so we figured moving would have been a huge hassle and we wanted to get to dinner.

The bistro was beautiful and accommodating. Our server was this perfect blend of attentive yet allowing us to buoy our meal. Food was good and great portions. We both felt our proteins could have been slightly more seasoned but was nothing tan complain on. Bed was comfortable, lots of pillows, and friendly staff. Definitely recommend

Great location and decent rooms. Hotel would not allow us to rebook at a posted better price. Had to cancel reservation and rebook. It was worth it considering I saved over $50.

My company had out yearly board retreat here recently and it was such a great and easy experience from start to finish! Natalie and Allison were such an incredible help throughout the entire planning process and I cannot speak highly enough about the customer service, amenities, and food! The Bistro has DELICIOUS food!

My stay at the Boulevard was amazing. All staff members were attentive and welcoming. The rooms were very clean. The restaurant staff was exceptional, specifically Cyler and Greg. Greg tended to my boss and I and gave the best customer service. He is a true asset to the team and really went above and beyond to give us exceptional service. He noticed I left behind my sweatshirt and I was able to pick it up the following morning from the managers office. I will definitely be coming back for Greg’s witty humor and espresso martinis.

It's an absolutely exquisite Hotel & Bistro with amazing views, the service is excellent and the front desk was very welcoming. The Bistro is a restaurant located in the Hotel only open for dinner, they also offer a free basic take & go breakfast and you're welcome to order a (paid) pre-oredered room service as shown in the picture. The room service was impeccably on time and also called our room ahead of service to make sure they're wasn't anything else needed and the breakfast was fantastic! Definitely will be returning sooner than later.

This is one of my favorite hotels by far! Can’t beat the location. The lobby renovations look great, and we love the outdoor patio. The rooms are cozy and the staff is friendly. I do miss the complimentary breakfast that used to be offered pre COVID, I hope that returns !

The employees were one of the nicest parts of the stay. The room had a loud refrigerator and a rattle in the air conditioning system. If you are a light sleeper(guilty) In the room we had, you will be awakened.. We tried the Keurig and it had missing parts, which necessitated getting dressed and going to the lobby early in the morning . The room was very clean and well appointed . I am sure you will be satisfied with the place we just had a few problems.

I didn't stay there we just went to the restaurant. And the food was awesome with the exception of the Corn puree which had the sweetness of corn but the breading was kind of bland so it didn't really taste like anything but besides that and the it was like a corn salad that was next to my steak that ricotta cheese mix in there did not go. But I had the wagyu flank steak, it was phenomenal. My wife had the steak and fries in that steak was super moist and flavorful as well as the french fries. A definite plus in my book

Great weekend get away. Right on the beach. The rooms are a bit outdated but still very comfortable. Teriffic restaurants within walking distance. No need for your car. We love it. Have visited multiple times over the past year and will be back.

Three and a half years ago I brought my family to The Boulevard Hotel. The food and hospitality was excellent bar none! The location is fantastic for walking to most everything (: So, a month ago I chose to bless a couple with a couple day getaway and received a note of thanks that states in part; "What a glorious getaway! The Boulevard was fabulous, very friendly, very accomodating, and the suite was so comfortable! The view was stunning looking over the beach [on Lake Michigan] with a perfect view of the sun and the [St. Joseph] lighthouse. St. Joseph was so lovely, we walked all through town 2 different days, walking each pier at sunsets was so pleasant (we had perfect weather). We had a rejuvinating time. We see why you and Sally love the place. (My wife that went Home to be with the Lord in 2018 and I grew up and raised our family in St. Joseph.) People were great, atmosphere was great!!!"

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night. We got a package that included a suite, coffee cups filled with candy, dinner credits, and a late checkout. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Cozy king side bed. We had a corner room with a lakeside view that was fantastic. Nice amenities. Full size refrigerator! Grab and go breakfast was pleasantly surprising with good protein options. We were very pleased with everything and left happy.

Nice clean and cozy rooms. Pay the upgrade for the lakeside and get a room in an upper room. The sunset from there is amazing! Make sure to get reservations for the bistro downstairs. A bit pricey but the food is absolutely delicious!

Our favorite local restaurant. Elegant meals with flavors and ingredients we haven't seen elsewhere. We've ordered a variety of items on several occasions and have never been unhappy. I've also stayed overnight for a personal retreat and my room was very comfortable with a great view.
