LOVE this beach!! If you’re looking for a relaxing, intimate and special place, definitely hit up Rocky Gap Beach! The water was incredibly clear, revealing the multitude of smooth, colorful stones and beach glass (if you’re lucky). One downside is that on a busy day, the parking lot will be full and you’ll have to park up the street. To me it’s worth it, but a good thing to note.

Found this beach gem on a fall girls’ weekend. Easy parking, great sand and really beautiful rocks! We found a neat teepee structure along the beach and had fun walking up and down while the waves crashed. Definitely will try it out in the summer on our next visit!

As its name implies, this is a rocky beach which is great for rockhounds. We bundled up and picked rocks here for a couple of hours on an overcast January day. Pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Path has a lookout bench where you are rewarded with pleasant views of the lake. Latrines closed in winter.

Rocky Gap Park is a GREAT beach that isn't nearly as populated as other beaches in the Benton Harbor / St. Joseph area! Soft sand, plenty of room to run and waves to dive into. Our family loved our beach days and are sad for this vacation to end!

Plentiful parking, vault toilets, ramp and accessable mat for strollers and wheelchairs to the waters edge. A really beautiful park, interesting human made elements and very little trash. One of my favorites.

The beach is nice. Sand is soft. The walkway to the sand from the parking lot is paved and flat. The public beach area got pretty crowded as the day went on. The sunset from this beach was gorgeous

Wonderful small beach. Parking is limited. The beach is a short walk down a ramp. There are several areas divided out along the beach. Plenty of great areas to look for rocks and lake-glass that has been nicely smoothed by the sand & water. The beach is backed by the overgrown cliffs behind it. Solid find and a nice beach in the area to keep in mind. Sunsets are very nice on the beach.

Smooth walk down to the area, lots of Beach area and space to walk. It's called Rocky Gap for a reason, because it's Rocky but it's also one of the best places to find Beach Glass. The only somewhat downside to this beach, is that there is not a lot of parking-but then again it's also first-come-first-serve and free. Not OVERLY crowded.

I LOVE this beach! It's handicap accessible at least down to the beach and is very clean. Isn't as busy as other beaches unless it's a holiday. No playground, or food, but the beach is fun and we take our own food.

Very cute little beach! Nice sandy beach with rocks scattering the shore and shady spots to sit and take a break from walking in. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it was a little hard to park. There isn't much parking for how popular the beach seems to be, so just watch out for that.

Such an awesome beach for rockhounding. Have been there a few times and will continue going as often as we can! Quick 90 minute drive from the Chicago burbs.

A small, secluded park located in a quiet residential area. There are picnic tables and benches next to the parking lot, bathrooms, a paved path down to the beach, and- best of all- free parking. The beach isn't very big and therefore gets crowded fast but if you catch it at the right time this is a great little spot.

We came here on our last day of vacation to take in the views and have a picnic with our dogs and weren't disappointed. Beautiful views, nice well kept overlook area with picnic tables/benches. Its in a quiet residential area and was very peaceful! Parking is free at the lookout and the beach access is just a short walk down the hill!

We come here instead of Silver Beach. It is WAY less crowded. The beach has more sticks and rocks because it isn't combed, and there is no lifeguard, but is just as beautiful.

If you have a passion for collecting colorful rocks, beach glass, and intricate fossils, or perhaps want to avoid a crowd Rocky Gap is for you. Overlooking Lake Michigan from a bluff in Benton Harbor Township, Rocky Gap County Park provides a wonderful place to enjoy the Lake Michigan shoreline. The lower park provides easy access to the sandy beaches, and the upper part presents spectacular panoramic views from the Lake Michigan Overlook Deck. Visitors can also watch the waves from the bluffs in the upper Park which also has benches, picnic tables, and a picnic shade shelter. I have enjoyed a myriad of beaches along the shoreline of Lake Michigan but Rocky Gap has always had a special place in my heart.

Thanks to the new figure of 93,000 people thanks so very much 1st time was there with my lady beautiful even though was rainy it's still fantastic. Has a handicap parking and ramp to the sand then there's a walk pad wheelchair can travel on to the water . So for the honest and truthful reviews just keep reading . Try it and have fun and be safe and always remember pick up your trash and if you see more please pick it up . It helps the parks , and the beautiful state and the wildlife . So the beaches and the water is safe for all.And thanks to all again .

Such a beautiful beach that is extremely easy to access and has such an amazing view! Just a reminder that the water is always a bit cold but on a nice warm day it’s super refreshing to take a dip!

I enjoyed the beach at Rocky Gap on memorial day thus year (2022). It was clean and peaceful. I liked the way they made Ramp down to the beach. It is beautiful there and was free for the parking. Thank you.

I come up to Rocky Gap every summer with my mother and we enjoy a few hours at the beach and I make a lunch for us and we picnic and wade in the water and I take photos there too with my Galaxy Note 20 that's in a waterproof case and I sit and draw and color on my Note 20. It is a relaxing place to come to and feels therapeutic to be there.

Lovely little gem of a beach! Theres not much parking, but the beach is small 2. If your looking for a more quiet, relaxed, soft sand, and surrounded by beautiful trees...this is definitely the place!

Love this beach. There is plenty of beach but not overpopulated. It's also a great spot to look for cool rocks and beach glass.

Beautiful area, never too busy and long stretch of beach area for such a small park. Perfect amount of waves for kiddos and the sunset there is perfection every time! Super clean sand and handy cap accessible for the most part, very nice ramp. Sand may still be a struggle for chair users (not handicapped myself. Home health aide for 12 years so I always think about it )

For swimming or relaxing at the beach. No dogs allowed on the beach. Beautiful area and you can see St.Joe lighthouse in the distance.

Lovely spot on Lake Michigan. Horrible parking availability. Though parking being at a minimum keeps the beach at a reasonable level of pepple. Bathrooms in the parking lot are horribly disgusting. Appeared to be a mild rip-current that pulled out toward the lake when I was there, could have just be that day's conditions though.
