This was me and my husbands first time ever at any bed and breakfast and it did not disappoint. We were greeted by Andy who showed us around and you could hear the pride in his voice about the property. It has great history and he had wonderful stories. He had his version of afternoon tea which was wine and homemade cookies. 😍 everything he makes is homemade and amazing. He had delicious coffee waiting for us in the morning with the most amazing breakfast. I could not have been happier with the stay and service and can’t stop telling everyone about it! We stayed in the Michigan room, bed was very comfortable everything was beyond clean. Nice comfy robes for relaxing and walking to the hot tub in. 🙂 go see Andy at Duncan house! It won’t disappoint

We had a great experience at Duncan House. As others mentioned, the food was AMAZING. We stayed in the upstairs beach escape suite, and everything was very comfortable and up to par. I really appreciated that Andy went through a town map with us when we got there, highlighting his favorite restaurants and best places to see the sunset. He also gave us detailed instructions on how to best hike Grand Mere state park the morning we left, and we had an incredible experience that we wouldn’t have known how to do on our own! Oh and the location is great—a cool historic neighborhood in easy walking distance to downtown. Don’t even question it, you just need to stay here!

Andy has made our first trip to St Joseph and stay at the Duncan House so much more than we could have ever hoped for. We were greeted with delectable freshly baked cookies, infused waters and local wine. We had the entire 2nd floor to ourselves and had no issues making ourselves comfortable. Not to mention, he was able to get us a last minute reservation at a local restaurant (Best ribeye ever at 221 Main!) We also were able to enjoy the outdoor hot tub with plush bath robes provided. Our breakfast the next morning was prepared impeccably, truly a luxury experience. This was our first B&B experience and we had so much fun. We loved hearing about the history of his family - thank you Andy for letting us experience all that the Duncan House has to offer!

Our stay at the Duncan House was incredible. When we arrived, we were greeted by the innkeepers, Andy and Nita, and given a tour of the property. The landscaping was beautiful and the interior was spotless. We stayed in the Michigan room and all of the decorations added to the experience. The four-post queen size bed was extremely comfortable with an ample assortment of pillows so you are sure to find the one that meets your needs. The attached bathroom and closet were amply sized and the multi-jetted tub/shower was great way to begin and end the day. The breakfasts were incredible. My favorite was the yogurt with fruit parfait, homemade cinnamon rolls, blue cheese, sweet pepper omelet and toast from homemade bread with butter and jam. Andy prepared the meal and gave us more information about the history of the house and St. Joseph. The B&B is located on a tree-lined street within easy walking distance to St. Joseph’s downtown area as well as two beaches, Lion’s and Silver Beach. The porch is a nice place to sit, relax, and enjoy cookies and fresh squeezed lemonade. It was a great first experience staying at a B&B. We will recommend this place to all our friends and definitely plan to stay here again.

My wife and I stayed overnight on a Friday for a quick, hopefully romantic getaway. What we found at the Duncan House fit the bill perfectly. The house and the room we stayed in were beautiful. Everything was extremely comfortable, particularly the bed. Nita and Andy were very helpful hosts, and there was always a treat: salsa, guacamole, fresh-baked cookies, homemade lemonade, and wine upon check-in. We enjoyed the snack in the beautiful and very relaxing back yard, although unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to use the hot tub for two, but it looked nice. The location is the best, a beautiful, quiet neighborhood a block from beautiful bluff views of the amazing sunset. It's a half mile walk to the beach, bars, restaurants, wine tasting, and other shops, we loved the walk. Breakfast was top notch, not only were the fresh fruit parfait, fresh-made croissants with home-made jams, and egg souffle awesome, but Andy also had some great stories about his great grandma's famous recipes. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks Andy and Nita for a memorable weekend getaway.

Seriously an amazing stay at The Duncan House! The house was very charming, very clean and modern. The owner, Andy was so nice and hospitialtble. He told us the background story of the house and shared a photo album. He created ya with homemade croissants/cookies and wine from local wineries. The breakfast was out of this world! He used locally sourced ingredients- and you could tell it was very fresh and delicious. I told my husband I want to move in!!! We will for sure be back.

We were passing though St Joseph and needed a place to stay for the night. A last minute call to the Duncan House and the owner, Andy, was able to secure us a room. Right from the start of our visit we were made welcome with the offer of wine and fresh baked treats. Andy is an awesome, talented host with an attention to detail. From the super comfy rooms to the superb locally sourced breakfast everything was perfect! The Duncan House will definitely enhance your visit to St Joseph!

What a delightful experience my husband and I had at the Duncan House in Saint Joseph, MI! The house itself is lovely - warm and inviting, and lovingly and painstakingly restored by innkeeper, Andy Sawyer. Nestled on a tree-lined street surrounded by beautiful historical homes, the home is an easy walk to quaint shops downtown and the beach. Andy and his wife, Nita, are gracious hosts - attentive to every need but not overbearing. We enjoyed talking to Andy as he bustled around the kitchen preparing his amazing gourmet breakfasts that were to die for. Coming back in the afternoons to freshly baked cookies or scones was a greatly anticipated treat. We stayed upstairs in the Beach Escape - a lovely, cozy room with a separate sitting area. Andy and Nita have thought of everything to make sure all our needs were taken care of. Andy is a wealth of information about the house and Saint Joseph - a town he clearly loves, and he made sure we were armed for our day with a list of activities going on in the area, as well as excellent suggestions on places to eat. We so enjoyed our stay at the Duncan House and getting to know Andy and Nita - two very remarkable people. I could probably go on and on, but suffice it to say that I hope we will be returning again and again. The experience still brings a smile to my face...

A stay at the Duncan House was part of my 50th birthday celebration, and it was a great choice. Andy is a wonderful host, and we enjoyed an amazing breakfast including great coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. Equally enjoyable was the conversation. Andy has a wealth of local knowledge and life experiences to share, and is the most gracious of hosts. St. Joseph's is a cool place to visit, and a stay at the Duncan House would perfect for a romantic weekend.
