😠 Very nice view and good location. But I had BEDBUGS, my arms and Back was all covered in bites and the owners and volunteers didn’t do absolutely nothing. I wanted my money back and they never gave me an answer. Please DO NOT STAY HERE! People often mention hostel, stayed, staff, beautiful, nice, room, private, rooms, great,

You should definitely stay at this hostel. I stayed one night in one of the private rooms. I wish I had stayed longer! They have really beautiful common spaces and helpful staff. The breakfast is delicious, it includes local pastries, fresh fruits and really good cheese. Location is perfect!

Loved this place, stayed in the room with private terrace which had an amazing view of the town. Clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was plentiful and varied including fresh pastries, cheese and seasonal fruits. Staff were so friendly from the moment we arrived, whether we wanted information or a chat and a beer. Wished we could of stayed longer! Thanks again guys!

Great first impression. On the second day, which I had already paid for, the staff moved my luggage to a different location without informing me. This is the first time that has happened in 10+ years of traveling. Not acceptable.

Really nice hostel located in the old part of the city in a beautiful old house, it almost feels like you are traveling in time when you enter the rooms...The staff speaks perfect English, they are extremely friendly and helpful they will give you a really nice map with all informations you need and will help you to go for a free walking tour and canyon tour, DONT MISS IT! I never do tours like that but they were really worth it, we enjoyed it so much ! They also have breakfast included in the price, it's very tasty and you really have big choice what to eat (it was vegan/vegetarian). Outside the house is a lot of space to chill and you can really have your privacy if you want to. One of the best hostels I've been so far! Thank you !

Incredible so far. In such a beautiful area, up on a slight hill, with beautiful views. You can see the cliffside church & citadel / castle from the rooftop balcony of the hostel. Free breakfast. The staff are fantastic. My bed is comfortable and dorm room is big and bright. Showers look good. Lots of chillout areas :) It's about a 30 min walk from the bus station, so if you have a big backpack like me n don't wana pay for a taxi, just take a little 5 min rest break halfway.

I spent four nights at the hostel in a private room. The house has a special otomam charm. The garden is peacefull and really beautifull with a lot of trees to chill and relax. The room was very clean and with amazing views. Huge breakfast with all types of food. The location is in the historic centre of Goriza, one of the UNESCO neighborhood. The staff are very helpfull, specially Mier the owner, who organizes stunning trips to the Canyon and Bogave waterfall. We also visit a winerie (Kantina Nurellari) that I strongly recomend. If I come back to Berat, I will stay again at the backpackers.

Planned to stay for one day but eventually slept for three days because of the chill atmosphere, beautifull view and interesting people. The bathroom and bedrooms are great. The staff is fantstic and Ennie is a lovely person, great to talk to and as a surplus she cooked an amazing Albanian meal for us. I want definitely want to go back here soon.

When my friend and I arrived we were warmly welcomed and immediately shown the spaces. We quickly settled on the bunks and to our surprise, were only 2 of the 3 total guests. It made for a chill and relaxed experience as we spent most of our time in the garden. Overall, great experience and will recommend to all my friends traveling to Berat.

This was by far the best hostel I stayed in on my trip to Albania. The house/rooms are gorgeous, the bunks are sturdy, mattresses comfortable. But the best by far was the staff. They help to create a community environment that makes you feel a part of the group from day 1. They also offer a canyon/waterfall tour, and a vineyard tour. I tried and loved both of them as well. This would definitely be my choice of hostel if I come back to Berat. Thanks for a great stay!

Positives: hostel is in a beautiful old building in a great location in the city and you get beautiful views. Rooms were full of character if slightly shabby, and a really good size (stayed in a private quad room). Breakfast was excellent - by far the best in all the hostels we visited in Albania. The garden and range of outside spaces was also really nice. Negatives: No obviously lockable storage in private rooms - although the door technically locked it was very old and would have been very easy to open without the key so it didn’t feel super secure. We were there in May so pretty quiet time of year, and there wasn’t really any sense of community along guests - I hardly saw anyone else even though the hostel was about half full. More evening activities other than the very expensive tours would have been nice. Our main issue was with the volunteers, who never seemed to be around. We tried to buy drinks at reception on multiple occasions but there was never anyone there, and although there would be notes saying they were in the garden we could never find anyone. Volunteers were also much less knowledgeable about the local area, including day trips, bus routes etc and unlike in other hostels we visited made much less of an effort to introduce themselves to guests so it was really hard to know who was working there. Might have been different with other volunteers or at a busier time of year.

A volunteer-run hostel in the scenic neighbourhood of Goric, we stayed one night in a private double room in July. It was a shared bathroom, but again with clean and the shower was excellent. It's a beautiful old house, and our room was cool, comfortable and clean, complete with a fan and small terrace. Breakfast was included and consisted of bread, jam, cucumber, tomato, fruit and borek. We did a washing for an extra 600lek. Only downsides is the volunteers are not super knowledgeable about the area, and there's no bag storage so we had to just leave our bags at reception upon check out.

1 star because of the local boy working at the reception. He gave twice wrong information to my friends and was rude with another guest. Then with me he said he was booking the taxi for me to go to the bus station but did not find a taxi and let me wait without telling me… I almost missed the bus going to Gjirokaster because of this. With my friends he sent them to the wrong bridge for the walking tour and to the wrong side of the bridge to get their bus to Gjirokaster and like me almost missed it too. It seems he is giving wrong information to guests on purpose :( it’s a shame to work in tourism if you do this and it gives a really bad image of the hostel. The manager is never around to see this unfortunately… apart from that cute hostel but rooms not so clean and very quiet and peaceful ✌️

NO CAMPING. it may be a nice hostel, but unsuitable for camping (as indicated in the guides) it cannot be reached by car and you have to go up and down some stairs for the entrance. the indication is misleading, and unfortunately not even the managers give this indication correctly.
