Best restaurant experience we had in Albania. The food is amazing but you also go for the experience. Lili is an incredibly sweet and energetic man, the most hospital man I ever met. Lela, his wife makes the food and it is such good authentic Albanian food. Definitely recommend it but it is advised to make a reservation. We were lucky and could get in without one.

Lili is a must do in Berat! It's not just dinner, it's an experience! Lili will welcome you in his backyard where you will be seated on homemade tables and chairs. The food is homemade by Lili's wife and is delicious!! We can't recommend this place enough. We'll definitely be back again.

Best food experience you can have in Berat and Albania altogether. Lili is a lovely man, super energetic and makes everything to make you have great time. The food cooked by his wife is delicious, all typical and very well prepared. Ask him for suggestions and you won’t fail. It’s a small place, so make sure if you go in summer to call for reservation.

If you don't visit Lili while in Berat, you're missing out. This is about as authentic an experience as you'll find anywhere in Albania. I highly recommend the cheese-stuffed pork!

Best meal I had in my trip to Albania. Rickety tables, a family home full of ancestry and wishes, great local dishes cooked very well. I had the baked eggplant, byrek (burek) with zucchini, and their honey cake (a bonus for the table), plus lots of red wine and raki. The owner is hilarious and friendly, speaks multiple languages, and tries to get to know people's names and keep everyone happy. This is fine dining in a different sense. Don't think of white tablecloths and aperitifs. Think of honest hospitality and making do with the things you have. At any moment if you leaned forward too far, you could break the table or chair you're sitting on, so Lili has had to make do with 'tables' or recessions in the wall that are flat, where you can keep bottles of wine or water that won't spill. It is worth the wait. Prices are quite reasonable. Everything is cooked to order by Lili's wife, who comes out at the end to rousing applause. You get a real peek into Albanian culture and family life here. Highly recommended!

Thank you so much Lili for the incredible experience. I recommend to make a reservation on time to avoid disappointment. Even our phone call was very fun and Lili really made me laugh. The food and ambiance was the best Albanian experience we’ve had at our entire vacation (2,5weeks). You get unlimited water, free homemade cake and raki (his father made!). He only has 6 tables and explains the menu to everyone at once, which made it feel really cozy.

After reading so many positive reviews on Google, we made a special trip to Berat just to try this spot. After dining here, it’s easy to understand why everyone loves it! The food was the best and freshest we had during our 2-week trip around Albania. There were plenty of vegetarian options for me! The owner, Lili, is a very accommodating, friendly, and attentive host. His wife is an incredible cook! It felt like we were at a friend’s home, having a lovely, intimate meal. We would certainly come back to Berat just to eat here again! My only recommendation is to make a reservation in advance by calling or messaging the number on WhatsApp, as there are limited tables. It was one of our highlights in Albania!

Lili is the nicest and most welcoming person. Great host and his wife Lele is cooking the best homemade dish. It’s delicious, faire price and you just feel welcome at the restaurant. Bianco is the cutest dog that belongs to them and the wine and raki from his father is just delicious. Amazing local food. Will come back 🥰🥰🇦🇱

Lili’s is a restaurant in the back garden of a small house in Berat. The food is really good, but the experience itself is what we will remember. We had to wait around 30 minutes for a table, which Lili was both extremely apologetic and grateful. Once we were in the service was excellent, Lili even insists he that he joins you for a shot of Raki when you have finished the meal. We were only in Berat for 1 day, but if we ever return we will definitely be eating there again.

Cute place, charming host and delicious local food. The menu is very short, but as expected this turned out to be a good sign. We particularly enjoyed the eggplants, the pork "cordon bleu" and the lamb baked in yogurt. Homemade wine and raki were also very decent and wrapped up the experience nicely. Lili, the owner, is very hospitable, and clearly loves his job.

Lili is the most friendly Person I have met so far. It was a pleasure to be a guest in his house and to try some traditional dishes. The food was great and the atmosphere in this small place was also lovely. Instead of having a quick lunch I spent 2,5 hours there meeting other traveller's and having a good time with Lili

This place is heaven on Berat! It’s like eating on your family reunions meals, like old time. Lili is a one kind of a force of nature!! The food is prepared in their own kitchen house, made with the love as it was your mother cooking!! And Lili what a great host, can’t forget his smile when he welcomed us downstairs!! This place doesn’t have price, go go go…

This is not just a restaurant. The word 'homemade' has a meaning. Lili is inviting you to their home and his wife is cooking for you. This is the most important thing to understand. Once you know this, everything makes sense. You will have the best evening you had on your trip to Albania and you will eat the best food, best wine and best raki you can have. All thanks to Lili and his amazing family. The food, Lili and the connections you make with the other guests make this a unique experience. Thank you Lili for inviting us to your house and taking care of us! We loved everything about tonight and are so happy to have met you (and eaten your food 😋). Muchas gracias 🙏

Best meal we had in Albania! Lili is such a wonderful host, always smiling, remembers everyone's name and you can't help but smile. The food is excellent, small choice on the menu which means the quality of each dish was fantastic. You do need to make a reservation at least a few days in advance though be warned! Absolutely worth the wait.

This was the best food experience in Albania! We were so full and happy! Thank you Lili for such a great evening! We will come back with our friends and family! PS. We reccomend booking a table before coming, the place is fully booked almost every day! PS2. Again, it is worth it!!!

Absolutely amazing place!! Really small restaurant with only 4 tables but the most amazing experience! Lili is such a great host and the food his wife cooked was delicious! You will meet many other travelers when you go there and have a great evening! Tip: book your table in advance to make sure to be part of this!

Sometimes words can not describe how perfect and authentic an experience can be. Lili and his family are just the best hosts all over Berat (and maybe Albania). Be sure to make a reservation in advance and don't miss this fabulous place.

We had an amazing night. Lili is a very special character that you have to meet when you're in Berat. His show and the companies that we shared the table together made the whole experience more unique. A night to remember 🌹 thank you Lili and his wife

Absolutely delicious traditional Albanian home made food. We choose the whole menu, which was quite a lot for the 3 of us. A really intimate dining experience, where you can chat with others. Lili is the host with the most, he remembered our names throughout the night and engaged in many conversations. He’s very entertaining and genuinely a lovely chap! I highly recommended booking, as this is a very small establishment. Lots of walk ins arrived and were sadly turned away.

Lili is amazing! The food was the best we had in our trip so far. What we like when having dinner somewhere (besides the food quality) is to have a good time. Lili his hospitality is the best of the best. It’s like you are eating in someone’s home (backyard). He is kind and loving and really enjoys to serve you. Would recommend 1000% if you are in Berat. Be sure to make a reservation!

I would give 6 stars if that would be possible because everything was so good. I normally hate eggplant but Lilis Wife made them so good i may be changed now. Also all the other dishes were just amazing. The ambience was very friendly and lively. Lili is a very nice host! I will definitely come back again! Please please phone Lili and make a reservation as there is not much space and many people want to eat at Lilis. Thanks for the great night Lili!

This was the most unique dining experience we have ever had! Located in the most scenic part of Berat, Lili and his wife's restaurant is not to be missed. Lili gave us the warmest welcome, making us feel as comfortable as possible, and continuously checking in on us throughout the night, and calling us both by name. The food was some of the most spectacular food we have ever eaten, bursting with flavour. It's easy to tell that Lili's wife puts a lot of love into her food. Thank you for everything Lili, we will definitely be coming back to Albania just to dine with you again! Sláinte!

To say this place was a pleasant surprise is an understatement. It was probably the smallest restaurant I have ever eaten in but also one of the best places I’ve ever eaten in. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but Lili the host was one of the sweetest people on this planet. He explains every dish and in what way you should eat it! If you don’t come for the food, come for the company. One of my favorite parts of berat as he made it feel like home. I could not recommend more!

Thank you so much to Lili and his wife. 🥰 We didn't understand how it was possible to get a 5/5 rating on a restaurant. We soon understood! Lili is adorable, he is funny, attentive to his guests, responsive. His wife's food is excellent, traditional dishes of great quality. They make a wonderful couple. I highly recommend them. Thank you Lili and Mireilla for the people you are. We're continuing our trip with our bellies full (of food and raki) and our heads full of good memories of Berat.

“Out of this world” is the best expression to describe the food, service and atmosphere of Homemade Food Lili. I spent 10 days in Albania and I did not eat something so delicious as I ate in this restaurant. You can feel the love and dedication they put into every dish in every bite.Even better than the food is the service. The kindness of the family managing this beautiful restaurant makes you feel at home. My recommendation: if you are going to Berat, do not miss this places! But book via whatsapp way in advance (weeks if possible), because it’s extremely difficult to get a spot there!

Amazing experience, simple as that. Best food we got in 7 days in Albania. Lili (the owner) was so nice, friendly, funny ect. I would recommend everyone to try this restaurant. BUT - BOOK A TABLE! We were lucky to get a table. In the time we were at the restaurant, I think over 30 people tried to get a table. Thank u Lili for a great experience.

Lili is the most amazing host you can imagine. He is extremely friendly and welcoming, what an amazing man. The restaurant is at the back of his house and his wife makes the best food we had in Albania. I will never forget our visit to Lili’s place.

This place is as much about the experience as it is about the food. You are seated in the backyard of Lili and his wife’s home. Lili explains menu and his wife cooks. Quirky tables and chairs and rock shelf’s for your wine and water are strategically placed for the 14 or so guests lucky enough to get a table. The food is traditional and highlights were the eggplant and lamb/yoghurt bake and pork fillet stuffed with cheese. I think Lili is the happiest man alive..his energy is infectious & he finishes the night sharing a raki with you. Book to secure a table 3 days out or risk missing this experience.

I saved this place as a must visit 6 months ago when we were planning our trip and I was very fortunate to get a table (via reservation) after a couple had cancelled. And it lived up to expectation. Lili is a very energetic (maybe too much for some!) and passionate man. He speaks about 6 languages fluently! The food was absolutely delicious and well priced and the homemade wine was yum. The raki shots were an added bonus at the end. As an introvert, Lili still made me feel very comfortable and included even with his bubbly personality. He’s extremely kind and seems to love what he does. He’s definitely not your “traditional and typical” Albanian personality but for us that was fine, we actually enjoyed his hospitality and upbeat personality more. What a treat!

All the comments you can read below are right! Best experience ever. Perfect eggplant with garlic. The best ricotta I've eaten. Strongly recommend to anyone. Mind that you might need to make a reservation for the evening earlier during the day. Especially in the season. It is worth to climb up there twice though :)

The best meal I had in Albania! Lili was such a kind and fun guy with lots of charisma. The shared table was fun and the small restaurant made the meal a special experience. Next to that, the food was super delicious. If you eat one meal in Berat, make it this one.

  • 4/5 K K. 9 months ago on Google
The food was delicious. A small menu with traditional food. There’s a few vegetarian options. There’s two seatings per night. Reservations are pretty much required to get a table. This spot is really about the experience although it’s not for everyone. The owner is attentive, almost too much so it can be a lot to handle if you’re an introvert. Definitely not the place if you want a quiet night.

👍👍 Good choice if you're going to have dinner on an open terrace above the city. Great view of old Berat! In general it looks like a super expensive restaurant. 👍👍 Really delicious traditional Albanian food, sarma/japrak was absolutely amazing, cold soup as well, we got nice toasted bread with cheese on top as a side. Not that easy to find because Google shows wrong location but there is a sign from the square/parking lot and it’s 30 metres up from that place....
