Dr. Wiesener

Restaurant Bar Pub

👍👍 As the reviews say. No table service but that isn’t a problem. Menu on the boards in the bar area. Free water and sun scream if needed too - a nice touch. Food was fresh and warming. One of the best we had in Norway and very local. Well priced. Happily recommend People often mention good, nice, beers, service, Bergen, staff, fish, local, atmosphere, selection,

This place is fantastic!! Come on Thursday for the traditional Raspeballe, but come early before they run out! Really lovely local atmosphere in a very nicely renovated and clean setting. They have great beers and they're so nice!

(Translated by Google) A very nice place. The best service you can think of. The city's best cuisine, especially the fish dishes, and the pickled fish are in a class of their own. Recommended at the strongest😁😊 (Original) Eit veldig hyggeleg sted. Den beste servicen du kan tenke deg. Byens beste kjøkken, spesielt fiskerettene, og plukkfisken er i ein klasse for seg selv. Nice place, Cappuccino was very tasty. Sitting outside is possible but due to the Bergen weather conditions, only Norwegians do so. Huge selection of local beers at typical prices. €€€€.

Had a tasty meal of sausage and potatoes at this local establishment. There were many locals here which is a good sign :) Just remember to go to the bar to order your food. There is no table service. We enjoyed the relaxing outdoor deck space. A great place to go to get away from the busyness of Bryggen.

There are so many hairs in the food. We found 7 Hairs in 6 plates. The food is also very expensive. It is 200 NOK for one little plate Pasta. I don’t want to go here again. DONT COME HERE!!!

Great pub serving a wide selection of craft beers and freshly cooked meals. We visited on Thursday for the raspeball special - book in advance to reserve a portion!

Really a nice place. The food is cool but tradicional, and cheap but the norway cost. Thanks to the personal service, for e.g. Carla, who help us to understand the menu.

Dr. Wiesener is a nice place to relax and talk. It seems to be a meeting point for those who live nearby. The food is good, and you get "value" for your money so to speak. They have some norwegian craft beers as well, and that's a plus.

I think you get the perfect Norwegian comfort food at Dr. Wiesener. You could hear Norwegian at almost every table, which is a good sign. We had a delicious dinner and will be back next time we visit Bergen.

A great spot for lunch that seemed to be filled with mostly locals. Lots of outdoor seating. I had the fish stew and really enjoyed it. A decent selection of local beers on tap as well.

Friendly people, cozy atmosphere, and I love the recommended beer🍺. The portion of the fish soup is fair enough and the taste is fine, just a little bit too salty though.

Unfortunately our group of 16 was unable to eat there. We had reservations, planned months ago, and had confirmed the reservation earlier in the afternoon, then also 15 minutes before it was to start, and were assured we would be served. We had looked forward to authentic Norwegian food. They did NOT seat us, and informed us we would not be able to eat there because they were busy. It was very difficult, and took an additional hour to find a place for our group to eat, and it was not authentic food.

Excellent experience. I ordered take out for the Norwegian traditional soup and Mussel soup. The soups, bread and mussels were nicely packed in seperate containers. The food was really tasty. I will definitely want to dine-in when I am back in Bergen again.

By the feel of it, this place does not need any reviews because it is so popular with locals and guests of the locals :) But we want to leave a note of our pleasant experience in this small but mighty place. I enjoyed my Persetorsk which is essentially cod that has been cooked until it flakes easily and resembles pearls. It was served with boiled potatoes with eggs on top, sliced carrots and a wonderful purée of some green vegetables. The Menü of the place can change based on the ingredients available. So my husband wanted to try sausages, however they were not on the menu. Luckily, the restaurant was planning to serve them to showcase new beer and had already prepped for that, so we were served sausages, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. It’s away from the cruise crowds but full of relaxing atmosphere. Treat yourself!

Good meat soup but it was a little bit salty though. The local apple juice was amazing and the beer was good. Thank you!

We came here following suggestion of our friend Grete. Plenty of local people enjoying many different beers. Food was also good but the best undoubtedly the friendship ambient and far of crowded tourist core.

Menu on the board. A great meat soup and cool history to the place. Great to relax and warm up. Order at the bar

If you are looking for traditional Norwegian food and drinks then this place takes some beating. We got spare ribs and cod/potatoes and both were delicious. The food was reasonably priced and the bar staff were very helpful when ordering drinks, even offering us a sample to help make up our minds. The atmosphere was very cozy and you could definitely stay there trying out a few of the selection of beers on the board. As the reviews say, there is no table service so you must order from the bar but that is no issue. A must visit when in Bergen.

Local restaurant /pub which would be a great diversion for travelers - a short walk uphill. Two pages of beers (their own is excellent) and simple menu with excellent food. Outdoor seating if weather cooperates. Menu available in English if you need it.

I visited Norway and Sweeden from the United States with my family, and a late visit here was the highlight of our trip. We went after 9 or 10, so the kitchen was closed, except for the meat soup - sounds nasty, but incredibly good. Staff/locals we're amazing, provided the best experience of an amazing trip that included seeing the Aurora.

All around the best establishment we visited during our week in Norway! Has a well-curated (if brief) wine list, as well as plenty of beers, cider, and liquors. Appears to be frequented by many locals, though we were told tour groups come through as well. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. On our first visit we arrived after the kitchen had closed, but they brought us some soup and bread anyway. Later our server introduced us to an award-winning Norwegian gin, which was a real treat! We came back a few nights later, and several of the staff sat with us and chatted at lengths about U.S. politics, Norway's political system, etc. A wonderful experience; don't miss this spot if you are in Bergen!

This place is located up a hill just behind the Bryggen wooden houses overlooking the Bryggen area of Bergen. This restaurant/pub is located in what looks like a local home. You walk up to the stairs into this charming house with inside and outdoor seating. The menu is small which I love because it usually means whatever is on the menu is going to be pretty good. We enjoyed a yummy late lunch and treated ourselves to the delicious cheesecake after. There was a good selection of beer that we enjoyed as well. Service was very pleasant and everything served up in a as timely manner. Wish we had found tor’s place earlier on during our stay, definitely would have visited more than once. Would highly recommend and hope to return someday.

(Translated by Google) When I was a little boy in the early 1950s, Dr Wiesener Kurpad was the only public bath for us in Sandviken. Over the years, new owners have come up with new ideas to attract customers. Today - 2016- we focus on good and solid farmer's diet. And of course Raspballs "with everything on". Spacious rooms with distinctive interiors. Great enclosed patio when weather permits. Romslige lokaler med særpreget interiør. Flott innelukket uteplass når været tillater.
