Greeted by a receptionist, that quite literally throws your passport at you, we checked in. In the room, we found a horribly dirty room. Yellow! stains on the bed, dust on the floor, a used spoon under the table, hair in the shower, crumbs on the chair. When telling this to the reception, the lady just laughed and told me it will get cleaned. Having wanting to unpack our stuff this was slightly annoying. When we came back 3 hours, the room still wasn't cleaned! So another trip to the reception and finally we got another room, meaning having to move all of our suitcases again - it was mostly clean (stains on the wall, some dust on the bedside table but okayish). No reimbursement, not even a drink at the bar as a sorry. This isn't at all a 4 star hotel. Furthermore, the new room didn't have a view to the port. The next morning i was awoken at 7am by people throwing around things and yelling in the courtyard (as in the new room without water view). I can't at all recommend this hotel - the reception is a shame, poorly trained and rude. Also cleanliness isn't a thing here either. Let's end this with something good - the breakfast is pretty nice.

Excellent tourist Hotel in centre of Bergen at the waterfront, close to ferry and fjord tours. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Great level of making the guest feel welcome and important. The ladies at breakfast welcome you with the friendliest smile which is pleasant to start the day. You may find the rooms small but when you close your eyes rooms are all the same. Its clean and fits the purpose. Well done staff and management.

Stayed 2 nights in June. Worst rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Check out photos of the room we got (1st photo) vs the room we booked (2nd photo). Room was dark and stuffy and claustrophobic - no air conditioning - heard other guests complaining about it. Also, Booked a family room but got a handicap friendly room which had a unnecessarily large toilet but tiny space outside. Told reception about this and they simply said they were fully booked and the photos may not be representative. I think it is just unacceptable for the hotel to oversell a room type and end up stuffing guests anywhere without explanation. Such a bad experience, stay away!!!

Spent our wedding night here in a big beautiful room with a view of Bryggen and the harbour. Got breakfast in bed and it was EPIC! Friendly staff, lovely amenities in the room (champagne, roses, handwritten note ect). Couldn't have asked for a better hotel stay so thank you!

What a fantastic surprise! We knew the location was good but the staff were also brilliant, our room excellent for a family of 4 and the restaurant food was first class. Fish and chips worthy of a good British chip shop and the chocolate fondant was addictive. Not your normal lazy chain hotel at all. If I'm back in Bergen in the future I'm staying here again :-)

Overpriced galore. No aircon in the heat of the summer, some of the staff are clearly untrained schoolkids and the service is sometimes unpleasant and rude depending on the staff member. Family room extra bed was so squeaky it kept me awake most of the night. How this is a four star is beyond me. Apart from the prices... I've been to three star hotels that beats this any day. Not coming back.

The hotel is close to the center, the staff is ready to help with any questions you might have and the breakfast buffet is extended and delicious! The rooms are rather basic but clean. The bathroom felt rather small, but nothing too bad. The views around the hotel are amazing, you eat your breakfast with a direct view on the harbor and mountains! It surely helps to get rid of that grogginess!

Staying at Hotel Admiral was the best part of our Bergen vacation! The room was Awesome- We were given the family room with extra beds free of charge. The breakfast was amazingly delicious! The location can't be beat- lovely seating areas in front and behind the hotel! And the customer service at the front desk and restaurant were the nicest people ever! Don't forget to visit the mind blowing view from the roof of Hotel clarion collection across the river..

We enjoyed staying in this hotel. The location is perfect! However, we booked a room for our daughter which is suitable for a wheelchair. This room was way to small for the wheelchair to fit in. It was not possible to take a shower and move freely in this room with a wheelchair.

Nice hotel w good breakfast. Hot water maker in room wasn't working, and the room seemed like it was queen bed. We need king beds. We're expecting that. A bit thrown together the hotel but I'd stay again. Very nice people.

Hotel Clarion in Bergen exceeded all expectations. From the friendly welcome to the luxurious accommodations, every aspect of our stay was top-notch. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the hotel's proximity to attractions made sightseeing a pleasure. I'll definitely return for another wonderful experience.

I loved this location and hotel. The staff were great and we were successful in getting an amazing room. Our room was on the Bryggen side and overlooked the town. It was just so beautiful at night. Location was an easy walk over to the Fish market and around the town. It is a quiet location and a little further from all the restaurants and shops. Breakfast was good and had a fairly standard “English breakfast” fare - which I love.

Stay away from that hotel, they gave us a dark small room for a family of 4 persons we couldn't move around and we couldn't open our language, the TV doesn't work , the hairdryer also doesn't work, there is no phone to contact the receptionist if you need something, this is definitely a 2 star hotel, the pictures of the rooms are fake , we asked the receptionist to move us to an other room (the one that is in the pictures )and she did nothing, the hotel has two sections, one section is like leaving in hell. The breakfast area is nice and the lobby as well

Pretty much centrally located. bergen is a small town so everything is a walkign distance. from the airport you need to take a bus and train to reach here. the rooms were compact but i think its a very scandinavian hotel feature. the receptionist was EXTREMELY warm and jolly. Really liked the way she greeted us with such good vibe and energy. its a 2 min walk to the best retsaurants bar and shopping street. 10-15 min walk to various places u want to explore for sight seeing. we couldnt get a lake side view as the hotel was 100% occupied. but totally would recommend it.

It’s not really a 4 star hotel, there’s no room service, the room was pretty dusty and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned thoroughly (still small items left from the previous guest on the window sill). The beds were ok but very slept in. Breakfast was great and the people working there are nice. The view from our room was fantastic and I guess that’s what you’re paying for.

The hotel is top. Top everything. Location, rooms, especially breakfast - no doubt the best i have ever had in hotels. Rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable, descently sized. Loved everything about it. Great!

The Clarion Admiral is located in a perfect spot with easy walking access to central Bergen and great views across the water. The room was comfortable and breakfast nice.

The location is near perfect and the staff are superbly helpful. We stayed here as part of the Hurtigruten cruise and it made the logistics of getting to the ship a breeze. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good, so take advantage of it!

we had a spectacular room on the edge of the harbor. Wonderful location downtown Bergen inner harbor. Restaurant and bar area both excellent, and the buffet breakfast was incredible.

Rooms very basic, although the beds were very comfortable. Good location for town and getting to the port.

A nice welcome in this ideally located hotel in the city center of Bergen. Overlooking the harbor with a very nice view in the hills around the harbor. The rooms are very clean and we'll furnished. Warm atmosphere, hot water and staying here by 0/-5 degrees outside did not felt in the rooms. The breakfast is very well served with many choices of cold cuts, cheese, pastries, fruits... Just one negative point for breakfast the coffee is not brewed and served at a poor machine and the orange juice is industrial, for such a nice breakfast we would expect freshly squeezed oranges. The pastries are fresh and tasty as well as the breads. View if the restaurant on the sea is really nice...

Very nice hotel, great location, there are lots of restaurants and shopping possible within walkingdistance. Staff is friendly and serviceminded, the rooms have a nice size (coffee and minibar available in the room) (Gym available at comfort hotel) Admirals restaurant have a good selection of breakfast, and a la carte menu for dinner (nice and well tasting food) Parking is possible in nearby public parking house.

A good, modern and friendly Cityhotel with a very Good breakfast buffet. I have been there for one night and learned an always friendly staff. Only the top mattress in the bed causes problems as it moves out of the bed Düring the night and you can fell off and get hurt. Please change that immediately, thank you. I appreciate your assistance in organisation the Bus Trip issued to the Quai...

Stayed 4 nights post-Hurtigruten trip. Very comfortable hotel, great breakfast choices, superb location for touring Bergen. Will be our automatic choice for our next Bergen visit

Nice, slight quality feeling. Ice dispenser on every floor. Walking distance to everything in the city centre and the port area. Bed was surprisingly comfy, but 10-20 cm too narrow for a couple imo. Good breakfast. Biggest disappointment was the extreme noise from the road outside, even if it's not a big street. Noise continues all night - bring ear plugs. Bathroom shower was not very well aligned, so water flowed all over the bathroom floor. Friendly staff.

A little disappointing--but it got better! I read many great reviews online before booking. Location is great, on the water with a great view. Our room on the second floor on the water was tiny, dark and beat up, and not that clean. I had to wipe off a few places with gunk on them. Bed was very small. Breakfast is just ok. Big crowd, food not that fresh. My fruit salad was mushy. We finally asked for another room, since our bed was really too small to sleep in comfortabley. The front desk manager quickly moved us to another room on the third floor which was VERY NICE. Great view of town and the water, bigger bed, seating area, nice modern bathroom.

Fantastic views of the Bryggen. Good rooms with Clarion standard, although a tad dark and the bathroom layout is not ideal. Could be cleaner, the cleaning staff seemed very busy. Also great restaurant with top notch presentation. Love the care for details.

Excellent place. Breakfast was packed and so many delicious options. The view was amazing depending on what room you get. Location is so close to old Town that its less than a 5 min walk. I would stay here again. The floors to get to your room were uneven and wonky for the different builds the hotel now occupies.

The breakfast buffets are excellent. The kitchen staff and reception were very good. These two comments apply to both Bergen Admiral and Oslo. The house keeping of the rooms could have been better. There were water spots on mirrors and layers of dust on edges of art work and cabinets. We liked the heated floor in bathroom since not much isolation between toilet and shower. We didn't stay for dinner at the hotel, but heard from others that it was excellent as well.

Very nice and cute hotel. Also the employees were very friendly and nice. Free hot chocolate and coffe for everyone. Only the way to the elivator is kind of dangerous because there is a "speed trap" which you may not see at the first time. I fell over it with my hot chocolate in my hands but maybe my mistake. All in all a very good hotel

Wonderful views over the river to the Old part of Bergen. Main Street almost across the road. Easy to find funicular railway with breathtaking views. Lovely rooms with beautiful decor, soft large bed, fully tiled bathroom with necessities. Breakfast large selection (luv the smoked salmon). Just a lovely place to stay. Would stay again if I had the chance to go back

Location is superb. Parking garage (city park) is just 200m away. Hotel room was fine looking and decent size (we picked the family room to the same price as the normal room), and breakfast was good. Nothing to complain about, but it's missing that last wow factor for me. Strong 4.

Got a tiny room for three people and no extra bed. This was normal procedure according to reception staff. Phone didn't work. Iron was barely hanging together. Dated and worn interior. A three star hotel at best.

Lovely helpful staff. Great breakfast with nice views from the restaurant. Evening meals there are well worth having, very tasty and lovely presentation. Small but functional rooms in a very good location.

A great hotel for a short stay on the water. The views at breakfast were spectacular. Check in-out was super speedy, check in was very friendly and welcoming, check out lacked that a little. Nonetheless a pleasant stay, clean room and an average breakfast.
