Chill place to have something to eat. We stopped by here for dinner and ordered fish soup & blue cheese burger. The fish soup was fine. They served fresh bread with butter which I enjoyed a lot. The burger was below average as it was told me. Overall, the food was average. But worth giving a try if you are just looking for something ordinary. Also, the prices are a little more reasonable compared to many places in Bergen.

Lovely place, very pleasant ambience, just perfect for our late lunch/early dinner. There was plenty of seating both downstairs and upstairs, and all the staff were perfect. We had a mini burger, an opera burger and shared an apple cake and coffee. Reasonable prices for Bergen, and I'd definitely come back again.

Popped in for lunch as we were walking by. Good menu with plenty of choice and not mega expensive. I had the beetroot burger which was lovely. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Food was good, staff was really unfriendly, almost gruff. Never have experienced staff treat people like they were non entities before. Guess because you went up to order they thought there was no reason to be nice and friendly?

We ordered 2 fish soups and a pasta dish. One of the soups arrives 10 minutes later than the rest. The soups tasted like store bought instant soup with some poor quality fish and a little extra cream. Great little place and quite reasonably priced too, if you’re looking for good food, nice vibes and cost effective Cafe opera may have you sorted. There’s plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating and the cafe is situated across the road from the opera house. The food was great the only negative was that I only received four small potatoes with my burger. Other than the quality of the food was fantastic.

We were recommended this café for dinner by an adorable Norwegian grandpa after being practically kicked out of many other places in the area when inquiring for a table for 6. But what a pleasant surprise it was! The café staff was welcoming and the service very effective even though most tables were occupied. And most importantly, after more than a week spent in the Norwegian countryside having to settle for fries and fast food most of the time, the food at Café Opera was absolutely delicious, do try their seafood dishes and you won’t be disappointed. Definitely worth it if you happen to be staying in Bergen!
