It’s a really cute cafe, filled with origami and lots of plants. They have board and card games to play as well. Even though most of them are in Norwegian but it’s nice to see people sitting around coffee and drinks playing games. Warm vibes. They look small from outside but they have a lot of seating space and a nice backyard too. I loved their carrot cake and coffee. Would definitely be coming again.

My husband and I came here twice during our visit to Bergen. The first visit (6/5) we had beers on the patio, lovely - no complaints. The second visit (6/6) we ordered a glass of Prosecco and a focaccia sandwich. The sandwich was delicious, but the champagne glass was only filled 1/4 of the way, if that. I assumed the server would pour more after the foam subsided and when I asked she said only if we paid more. I was absolutely shocked that’s the “standard pour” as we were just at Folk & Róvere and were served a full champagne glass of Prosecco and it was much cheaper. Same at Fløien Folkerestaurant - very generous pour. What a rip off…stick with beer at this place!

I was surprised when I walked into this bar. It was a late sunday, all coffee shops in the city were closed, Vågal was kind of a last resort to try and get some decent coffee. And I was really impressed! It’s hard to tell if I simply lucked out on the bartender/barista or if Vågal actually requires barista skills for the job, but nonetheless I was actually really impressed with both the Kenyan pourover I ordered and the latte my girlfriend got. The milk had nice texture and the latte art was great! Overall I’d highly recommend going here. The coffee is great and it had potentially my favorite atmosphere of any coffee-shop in town. My only slight criticism, more a recommendation than critique: they only carry BKB coffee, which although it’s gotten better and more «specialty» over the years, it still is far behind the top dogs like Jacu, Supreme and Langøra. So maybe having those roasteries featured as well could be an idea? But then again this is a bar after all, any specialty coffee is far beyond the others. Keep up the great work guys! This was my first visit but it’ll be far from the last.

We had coffee and some beers here. Unfortunately, one of the crew broke some glasses near our table and took all our drinks (in fear of contamination of the shards). Our favourite café/bar in the whole city of Bergen. Very nice ambiente inside and it also has an open air area in the back. Furthermore it has sockets at most tables to charge technical devices.
