We have been to alot of hotels, me and my daughter. We travel to Bergen a few times a year for intensive physical therapy and have stayed in several of the hotels here, as well as traveling abroad for surgery. Clarion hotell Bergen is by miles the best experience we have had. We are now coming to the end of our 3 week stay, and we don't have any complaints what so ever. Rooms are nice, breakfast is fantastic, the employees are all genuinely friendly, nice and fantastic ( they deserve a raise if you're reading this Mr /ms owner 😂) Today was a one of a kind experience for my girl. We came back from intensive therapy to find the door to her room wrapped in Christmas paper with 3 Xmas cards in front of it. Apparently silly Santa had dropped by ❤️. Innside we found the office chair wrapped, a little Xmas tree, gingerbread cookies, oranges, a silly Santa figurine and 2 Christmas gifts from the hotell.. She was overjoyed.. With all that little girl has had to go through in her short life, this is one gesture she and her dad will never forget ❤️ thank you Clarion

We stayed for two nights: Great location. Comfortable, clean hotel room. Heated floors in WC. Bathroom not ideal for anyone with mobility issues as tub is high. Decent water pressure but slow water drain. Fast wifi. Fulfilling breakfast; okay dinner. Very nice and observant kitchen staff. A little confused the second day: The cleaning staff must have started but didn’t finish the room earlier in the day, and came back again later when I was in the room… Front desk staff were pleasant!

We stayed 2 nights here. Pros: they are close to the center and to Bergen's tourist attractions. Also close to many eateries . Breakfast was decent. Cons: they gave us an adjoining room for the kid which had one dimly lit light, no windows and literally looked like a store room. They did not clean our room even after repeated reminders. The bathroom had a bad design. While bathing, the water will spill on the floor. They didn't provide floor mats,so we had to use towels to clean the water. This hotel caters mostly to tourist bus folks, so individual guest are not given a priority.

Great if you like dirty rooms, reception that laughs at your complains. Laughable. The breakfast is decent though

Very friendly staff, excellent location in town. Easy walking distance to most places of interest. Phenomenal breakfast. Room was large and comfortable. Definitely would stay again.

The finest hotel in the city center is truly a five-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the warm and professional staff made us feel at home. The stylish rooms boast stunning views and luxurious amenities, and the on-site dining options are simply divine. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Stayed a few days during peak summer tourist season and enjoyed the hotel. Bonus points for getting a free upgrade to a suite. At first it seemed awesome to have a few of the harbor--but the reality of street noise detracted from the overall experience. That's not the hotel's fault of course! The room itself was fine but dated--roomy, with a decent bathroom. But overall lacking closet/drawer space. Breakfast buffet was amazing! The hotel itself is in the middle of everything--or at least the most heavily touristed areas. It's definitely worth walking a few blocks south into city, outside the swarm of cruise ship folks to get a better feel for Bergen.

Lovely old hotel, very well located for activities in Bergen. Near the port, good restaurants, etc. We had two rooms to sleep 6 people. The 3rd beds in both rooms were so creaky and noisy that we had to move mattresses onto the floor just so everyone could sleep. Paying over $200 per night to sleep on the floor is not ideal and quite uncomfortable.

Loved our stay at the charming Clarion hotel in Bergen. It is very conveniently located, with great food options nearby, and only a block away from the Bergen warerfront. We had a suite for 3 people, and the room was very big, with an additional room with the extra bed. The breakfast area got crowded but had an excellent spread.

We picked this hotel because it was in the center of Bergen. The parking for the hotel was very complicated. We had to park in a private parking lot that was tiny for our big rental van. The expect you to park yourself and take care of your own luggage. The breakfast was amazing but too crowded and you could barely get your food. The room was spacious and clean.

We (me and my family of 3) booked breakfast at 9 to 9:45. We get there at 9 o'clock and start having breakfast, due to queues at breakfast we sit down at a four-seater table (there is only that table free and all tables were four-seaters) then a waitress comes up to us and asks if it was only us who would be sitting here, of which we answer that there will be one more (my father). We have time to eat our breakfast for about 7-10 minutes (it's now 09:20) and the same waitress comes up to us again and says that we can't sit there anymore because another family is coming who needs a seat. Note that those sitting at the tables next to us had been seated earlier than we arrived and they were only seated 2 in a four seater! Unfortunately, not good treatment at all!

Rooms are old, no mini fridge. Also, I went to the bathroom in the lobby and one of the toilet stalls had a broken handle on the inside, which I didn’t realize until I closed the door. The broken handle rendered the door inoperable from the inside and I was stuck in the stall until I called someone to come open the door from the other side. My phone was almost out of battery; if it had died or if I didn’t have it on me, I would have been stuck in the stall for a long time.

The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable (lost one star for some wear and tear in the bathroom plus the thinnest, grey towels I've ever seen in a hotel). The staff are all friendly, hard working and competent. Breakfast (included in the price) was plentiful, varied and tasty. Location is perfect in the middle of the Bryggen but not noisy at all.

Particular style of the rooms. Strange bath tub draining upon the door tiles and then into a metal grill under the sink (not a happy solution..). Fantastic and hugely generous breakfast

Parking underneath the building was challenging however the quality of the stay was superb! Great breakfast spread and so comfortable! Totally recommend this hotel for a small family.

Awesome location right at the centre of almost everything! Great breakfast spread (and the extra care on plating made it feel more special) and very caring staff. The rooms could be brighter, especially with Bergen being the wettest city in Norway.

Inclusive breakfast was varied and plentiful. Room was poor. Needs lights other than minimal dull lamps. Bath plumbing in need of repair. Room is better suited to be a storage closet or office. No baggage assistance. Out of a four day stay, asked for cleaning only once and did not receive it. For the money spent, will not return and would not recommend as four star.

Loved this hotel. Everything that needed to be updated was but it still had the charming bones of an older hotel. Very good breakfast. Very clean. Amazing location. Very VERY comfortable beds.

One of my my best hotels experiences so far! We were travelling with our two small dogs and that sometimes leads to some bad experiences because some hotels are not very pet friendly as they claim to be, but thankfully we had absolutely no issues here. The extra fee charged for the pets is fair, the staff were super helpful and friendly, and they even offered us a dog's bed and water/food bowls! The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. We were in a group of 3 so we booked a family room and it even had a separated room with an extra double sofa-bed. Breakfast was great and with a decent variety, nothing extraordinary but certainly above the average. Location is also perfect for tourists, it's located within 5 minutes walk from the most important touristic attractions in Bergen and there are more restaurants than we could count nearby. Was definitively a very positive surprise, highly recommended hotel!

Very large clean room and bathroom, comfy beds, 2 chairs and a desk chair. The location is perfect, walkable to the water, shops, and funicular. Excellent restaurants nearby. We walked across the street for delicious Indian cuisine. The breakfast was full of options and some traditional Norwegian foods. I'd definitely stay here again.

The room itself was really comfortable and clean. We felt very cozy and the bathroom was just great. The building itself is old, as is the upholstery, but it doesn't take away from the comfort level. Amazing location. Breakfast wasn't so great, and the parking underneath was very expensive. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is in a fabulous location, breakfast was not very good and had to go to the reception to get it even if it was advertised that they bring it to your room. Bathroom was dirty, tv was breaking down every 30 seconds so was unable to watch any channel out of 6 available ones. They advertise parking but be aware that it is at an additional charge of 250NOK. Cant get back to your room from the parking spot as the key card doesn't work properly which was a new nuisance. Hotel needs to be updated a bit and then i will stay here again

Great views and in the center of the popular tourist spots. Beds are incredibly soft, but this seems to be the standard throughout Scandinavia. Would be nice to have facilities in the room (Kettle and tea). There is a coffee station in the lobby but both the evening and the next day there was no milk in the coffee machine. If you are taking the shuttle service from the airport it is a few blocks away from the drop off point, and quite a steep walk up hill and challenging when you have luggage to drag up the hill. No Uber available, taxi's a good option.

Could say, reasonable price hotel. Maybe because of Corona, but room was not clean enough, restaurant , can't even call it restaurant because of food choice and quality. But, prices , they are low. Quite old interior of room also. From good things, frendly stuff, easy to check in, perfect location, room was big and nice ,if not dust.

The rooms are a little older. Most rooms will not have a refrigerator or coffee period although they do in upgraded rooms. Close to reception is an area where you can get free coffee tea and sparkling water. The breakfast setup is good and traditional for most hotels in Norway and includes Norwegian pancakes. The hotel is very close to the waterfront and centrally located .

Great experience! Room was clean and nice, even had a bathtub and products from rituals (shampoo, conditioner, lotion...) Breakfast was extremely delicious! They have a variety of vegan options (hummus, "milks", granola) but also different salads, cheese, cold cuts and gluten free products. There is also a gym in the basement, the equipment is really good (free weights, rack, tower, bicycle, stepper, row machine) Staff was super friendly, thanks for the pleasant stay :)

Rooms need to be wired for USB charging receptacles. Every one now has a smart phone that needs charging. Also wash rags were not provided.

Very comfortable hotel in a location close to the fishmarket and beautiful harbour area in Bergen. We stayed for a conference and the staff were incredibly helpful. The best feature was the food! Some of the best hotel food I have experienced. Well recommended and will stop here again when I come to Bergen.

I highly recommend Clarion Hotel Bergen! I was there for a week and enjoyed everything about this hotel! The staff is very friendly and professional, my room was very clean and attractive, and the food is very delicious! I'll never forget their Norwegian Pancakes! Next time I go to Bergen, I'll go back to this hotel!
