Found this place by accident. Interesting old restaurant motif. Servers were every nice. We had the whale carpaccio and a plate of the grilled scallops for appetizers. Whale was really good, but scallops were slightly overcooked. We tried 5 of their entrees (2 were the special of the evening: Grilled Salmon and the wild meat stew), along with the reindeer, pork and the beef. Reindeer steak was excellent. I would get that if that was my options. Second best is the grilled Salmon. Flavorful and nicely grilled. 3rd best would be beef, very tasty and perfectly cooked for Medium rare. Pork was a bit over cooked, so not as juicy as could be. Meat stew is a huge portion and I would have preferred boiled potatoes with it to mashed potatoes. I am use to 1/3 of the portions of the stew on a plate with a few boiled potatoes and broccoli to offset the sauce amount, but the dish was tasty too (sauce was slightly too much salt for me. Beefy brown sauce), just not to my expectations. I would go again, but get the reindeer steak.

plukkfisk is possibly the best plukkfisk in town (left). Lutefisk does not get better than this. Generous portion even before 16:00 for 299,- (RH photo). Xmas plate at 269,- Top service, location, localities.

Very disappointing First of all, there was only one vegetarian option which is not normal especially if it's a vegetarian burger. Secondly, it would have been okay if it tasted better than a McDonald's burger. The bread was cold there was one piece of tomato and salad, which were not fresh at all. And finally a basic fake vegetarian steak. I could have done a better burger on my own. This was clearly not worth 23€. It's a shame because the dishes my friends ordered looked and were very good. Please improve your vegetarian options AND your vegetarian burger.

The service is good but can disappear for times. I was offered a local beer that was tasty. The reindeer was very good but the potato latkes they sat on we're divine.

Skip this! Money better spent elsewhere. The food quality is decent, and the waiters are polite, but you can get better food for less elsewhere.

Chicken salad was off, medium waiting time, old school interior, good food but not great. I tasted the chicken salad, nøttesteik and raindeer steak. I waited over 40 minutes, which I do think is on the longer side. The heavier dishes tasted good, the sides complemented the meat very well. So overall good but not especially great in my opinion. The chicken in the salad seemed to be off, as it did not digest well and in fact did not digest at all.

Food is scarce and very expensive, Not good enough quality to justify the price. The place and the decoration is very nice, antique style but nice. The atmosphere is provided by the decoration and there are no special issues to point at. The waiters are sourfaced and not too friendly. This is not a place where I should go back. The beer prices are out of this planet, go for a jar of plain tap water, othewise you will become poor very quickly.

we booked what we hoped would be a traditional Norwegian restaurants and we were so sadly disappointed in our visit because of the appalling quality of the food. Our female waitress was very sweet and friendly, her colleague was not!! The food was luke warm for 5 of us and cold for one of the group. The male waiter was not happy with us asking for it to be redone but he reluctantly arrange this, when it was served again it was still just luke warm. The quality of the food was well below par for what was being charged, the waitress stated they had been really busy the night before and so chef was tired !!!!!!!!they took some money off of our meal to be honest they should not have charged us at all. Very disappointed and would not recommend

Decor a bit old-fashioned though that could seem part of it's charm, but the food was excellent.

We had dinner before Christmas eve. There was quite and a few more table were taken. I experienced one of the worst service. the waitress was busy with his mobile during the entire of our stay. We wanted to order dessert and other but he didn't pay any attention at all. It was pricey restaurant with average food and terrible service.

Food was quite nice, but the service was a mixture of patchy, and in one case, unpleasant, when one of the waiters became confrontational and notifiable annoyed that we couldn't remember the food we'd pre ordered several weeks in advance. Our company paid a lot of money for us to eat here, so such behaviour would put me off returning with my family.

Old school traditional restaurant near the theatre in Bergen. Dark, oak chairs and tables, thick walls, small windows. You go back in time. Nice.

Nice atmosphere, a true ol' Bergen tavern. The food and beer is good. The chef must have had a rough day cause the potatoes wasn't properly cooked, luckily the waitress was very nice and serviceminded so she pulled in that third star for wesselstuen tonight

I spent a good amount of time trying to compare this dish with the best dishes I ever ate, and honestly I can not think of ANY other that tasted better. Meat was perfect, cooked just as I requested. Sauce had so much good taste and the shrooms and vegetables just completed it all. I'd recommend this dish any time. The atmosphere were quite nice and the waiting time was just as you'd expect from a dinner of this caliber. Very welcoming and nice waitress that took good care of our table. Gave one of us a good recommendation also. They know their stuff for sure. I'll come again next time in Bergen for sure to try another dish! And can't wait! 5/5 😊
