It is not easy to find Burmese restaurants outside of Myanmar. I definitely miss the mohinga, their national rice noodle dish, and there was no mohinga in Mandalay Sushi (or did I overlook that?), so I had the tom yum and chicken curry instead. The seafood soup of tom yum was creamy and aromatic, mildly spicy with a tasty coconut flavour. The curry was fine, pleasantly thick and flavourful sauce which tasted close to what I had tried in Myanmar, though the ingredients were not in the best form - chicken was dried and bland in taste. It was great that the curry dish was complimented by Japanese rice. This is my favourite type of rice which is fluffier and slightly stickier than the others.

Very good sushi and a great range of vegetarian options! Not really the cheapest Asian food in Bergen, but worth the price.

What a lovely dining experience in the heart of downtown with a clean and cute upscale decor. Very unusual sushi whose flavors mingled in your mouth just enough to bring a slight sense of joy. Their Gyozas are very tasty but their sushi is nothing special to be honest. We ordered four different sushi and all of them taste the same… Their fish is fresh, no problem there. The service is poor though, had to go to the cashier and pay for my bill, we were missing soy sauce plates, had to get up and grab it myself. If you really really crave sushi, yes you can go here, but if you don’t, I’d recommend somewhere more local, like Fish market.

I feel like every review that we've posted about food in Bergen has been positive. Mandalay was no exception. I ordered the Chicken masala and my wife had the roast. Both were packed with flavor! One warning, the Chicken Masala...even when asked to be made with mild spiciness...packs a spicy punch. Still worth it! Wait staff were very patient while figuring out what we wanted, gave some excellent recommendations and made our dining experience a quality one. I can't speak to the sushi, but the other items were fantastic!

The best tom yum soup with the freshest and largest chunks of seafood I've experienced with this dish. Sushi was also mouth-meltingly fresh. Quality was top-notch and generous. Highly recommend supporting this small business.

The restaurant was great. The food was awesome. And the Chef did some customization of the food we've ordered that suits our palate. We had one of the best fried rice at the restaurant which was makes us reminisce of our mother's home-cooked fried rice. We really had a very good meal here and we chatted with the Chef. He is a very cheerful and friendly guy. If we were to be back at Bergen, definitely the restaurant to be back.

Absolutely amazing place. The chef is a total sweetheart, and the staff are friendly. The sushi is mild in taste, and very well prepared. They offer a nice selection of asian beers that taste amazing with the fish.
