Original
but
not
so
good.
We
went
to
this
restaurant
on
a
friday
night
and
ordered
the
8-courses
menu.
Although
the
plates
were
very
original,
and
we
could
sense
that
the
chef
was
trying
to
let
us
experience
new
and
elaborate
cuisine,
the
result
was
unfortunately
disappointing.
The
main
problem
was
the
fact
that
most
of
the
plates
were
not
balanced
in
term
of
taste.
There
were
too
many
ingredients
which
didn't
mix
well
altogether,
often
resulting
in
a
asymbiotic
taste,
with
one
(strong)
ingredient
altering
the
taste
and
quality
of
the
rest
of
the
ingredients
in
an
unpleasant
manner.
This
was
often
the
case
with
the
sauces,
which
instead
of
adding
an
interesting
and
pleasant
colour
to
the
plates,
did
not
integrate
well
with
the
very
good
quality
of
the
local
ingredients
(cooked
with
many
interesting
and
diverse
techniques)
and
reduced
the
potential
of
many
plates
(special
mention
to
the
veal/anchovy
sauce
with
the
beef
or
the
plum
sauce
with
the
crab
which,
in
my
opinion,
completely
destroyed
the
initial
good
taste
of
the
two
courses).
Some
other
ingredients,
known
to
be
rare
and/or
delicate
(caviar,
truffles,
scallops,
crab)
were
not
enhanced
enough
but
rather
hindered,
disappointing
our
expectations.
Some
plates
were
still
quite
good
and
we
really
enjoyed
them,
like
the
reindeer,
the
salmon,
the
hallibut
and
the
dessert.
However
none
of
them
were
unforgettable.
The
service
was
ok.
The
personel
had
good
knowledge
of
the
menu
and
its
ingredients,
spoke
many
languages
and
interacted
with
us
in
a
enjoyable
manner.
However
this
was
not
a
perfect
type
of
service:
some
of
them
had
dirty
fingernails,
which
is
quite
unpleasant
to
see
when
knowing
that
they
will
serve
our
food.
Some
of
our
requests
(wine
types
on
the
menu,
bread
at
a
certain
point
in
the
evening,...)
were
not
available.
We
were
a
group
of
7
people
and
not
even
a
little
digestive
was
offered
at
the
end
of
our
meal
(which
is
not
at
all
a
requirement
but
can
contribute
to
make
the
client
feel
special,
which
is
not
how
we
felt
in
this
restaurant).
Finally
the
price:
it's
too
much
for
the
quality
of
the
food
and
the
service
experienced.
We
have
eaten
in
other
restaurants
with
far
better
food,
for
the
same
price
or
even
less.
We
have
to
say
that
we
are
not
from
Norway,
and
if
like
us
you
come
from
abroad
you
may
have
experienced
the
pricey
lifestyle
of
this
country.
But
even
when
taking
this
matter
into
consideration,
the
price
is
too
high
for
the
experience
offered
here.
To
finish
on
a
positive
note,
the
presentation
(i.e.
dressage)
of
the
plates
was
exquisite.
All
of
them
were
very
beautiful,
a
real
pleasure
to
watch
!
Overall,
we
won't
come
back.
If
I
had
to
give
one
advice
to
the
chef:
the
more
is
not
always
the
better
and
balance
is
the
key.
Please
consider
other
restaurants
if
you
are
looking
for
elaborate/
gastronomic
cuisine
in
Bergen.
In
1877,
you
may
easily
be
disappointed:
it's
not
so
bad
but
it's
not
so
good,
defnitely
not
amazing!
