Our stay at this central Bergen hotel was exceptional. The location is prime, making it easy to explore all that Bergen has to offer. The staff was attentive and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Our room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. This is the perfect place to stay for anyone visiting this beautiful city.

We loved our stay at Hotel Oleana. The rooms were very comfortable, and the breakfast was incredible. The staff were lovely (especially our friend Thomas) and we would absolutely stay here again, especially considering the cost relative to other accommodation. The decor is a bit strange, but did not impact our quality of stay.

The hotel has a nice modern decor, the breakfast was great, and the staff ranged from friendly to aloof. The room was of decent size, but the bathroom lacked privacy. The blackout curtains didn't block the summer Sun well at all.

Delightful hotel - great ambience and professional, friendly staff. Rooms are stylish, with excellent use of space. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel has an excellent restaurant (their burger is a must-try Better than any American burger I have had). The neighborhood is active and vibrant with several restaurants and live music in the plaza at night.

stayed at the Hotel Oleana with a group in August. One morning, I laid out some clothing and noticed a pair of jeans was missing when I returned. I spoke with the manager and was told they would check with the housekeeping staff. After hearing nothing, I asked again. Upon checking, I was told the most ridiculous story. The cleaning lady said she found my jeans stuffed in the trash can, and they were full of holes. Not knowing what to do, she asked a member of the bar staff to verify whether she should throw them away, which she then did without consulting me. I told the manager they were brand new, never worn, and bought specifically for this trip. The hotel manager promised compensation on August 4, 2023. Since then, I have sent 12 emails, each time receiving a reply promising to do something or asking for more information. I've provided them with every piece of information they've requested, but they will not send payment. They insist they need an IBAN, which I told them the US does not participate in. I have offered them multiple alternative methods to repay me, none of which they have done. They reply to every email I send but never follow through with their promise to repay me. I advise everyone traveling to Bergen to avoid this hotel as the risk of theft is high, and the hotel will not uphold its promises.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Oleana in July. The staff are amazing and very helpful with answering questions, assisting us with filling up water, ordering drinks, etc. The restaurant staff are equally amazing. Our first day there, we had Pedro in the restaurant, and he was so friendly, professional and kind. I don't remember the last time I had such great service. Our water glasses were never empty. The next evening we had Josue, who was equally as friendly and professional. Also a shout out to Azhar, who was so nice and helpful on the front desk. The rooms were clean and quiet, the restaurant cozy and delicious, and the location was perfect. The one small criticism was that the light came through the blinds due to additional sunlight in the summer. Just remember to bring your sleep mask. Thanks for a great stay!

We had the most lovely stay at Hotel Oleana. I had mixed up my reservations and they were beyond accommodating and even upgraded us to a suite. Room was spacious and had a beautiful view overlooking the gardens. The breakfast was probably my favorite that I have had in Norway with huge variety and delicious hot and cold options. Outstanding customer service and stay - thank you!!!

Really nice, stylish hotel right in the heart of Bergen. It is excellently located within walking distance of all the main attractions and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The rooms were also really nice, clean and stylish. However the single beds were really too narrow and therefore not very easy to sleep on. The breakfast buffet was also very good with lots of options to cater for all. I definitely recommend it and would stay there again without any hesitations.

Phenomenal location and world-class service from Azhar. He made the experience smooth, friendly, and welcoming from the second we entered. I hope management reads this and recognizes the positive impact he has on the guests here. Also one of the best breakfasts I've had to date. Unreal spread. My one recommendation would be for the hotel to provide fans in each room as it got quite hot during our visit (June 26th). However, I never asked them for one so it's possible they do have some lying around. Nevertheless, we deeply enjoyed our stay here and cannot recommend it enough to anyone spending time in Bergen.

A charming hotel in the heart of the town. Lots of restaurants, cafés, bars and tourist attractions within a walking distance. They serve an excellent breakfast with a wide variety of options. The bed felt comfortable, but the bathroom was really small.

We took the scenic train from Oslo to Bergen. By the time we got to the hotel all they had left were suites. Nice big rooms. I wasn't crazy about the decor but large rooms are always welcome. Staff was very helpful and the location is close to dead center. Who can ask for more. Just remember Monday hotel restaurant is closed. Bergen is a acute town to walk around in. Then up the coast to see the fjords. Be aware that it rains a lot up here!

Hesitated to book this hotel due to the eccentric interior but it was actually super clean and good value for your money. Breakfast was also great, only negative was that there should be more smaller tables at breakfast. Right now it gets full because two people will sit at a table for four or more people and people don't really enjoy sharing tables with strangers (me included). Even putting dividers on the tables could make people actually fill the tables better. Also the room to store bags was full when we checked out so we had to take them with us.

We loved this hotel! Great location and the rooms are stunning. Ours had slanted roof windows that opened onto a picture perfect scene of the city and surrounding mountains. The hotel also had one of the best breakfast spreads of our trip. Special shout out to Richard Thomas, the chef, whose humor and warmth made the breakfast experience one to remember!

Stayed here as was working the week in and around Bergen. Great location for lots of restaurants and bars at walking distance. Breakfast was very good and staff were nice. Bed wasn't very comfortable, one night the lights were doing their own thing which was very strange

Menu simple but excellent. Very welcoming. Splendid and original ingredients matches, the food is delicious. The restaurant is worth it, even when not staying at the hotel.

Great hotel! Nice staff. Modern and a perfect location. Good cleaning. The breakfast area can be crowded during "rush hour", but good selection of food and drinks during breakfast.

Perfectly situated boutique hotel in the heart of Bergen. If you enjoy going out for a drink, you will appreciate the location of the hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the layout of the rooms make the most of the small square footage. Easy walking to the fernincular, the fish market, and the visitors center. Good breakfast included and a big screen in the lobby to keep you updated on the news. Very helpful and friendly staff

The room was very modern. Bed was comfy and we had plenty of room. There was really no view out of the window, but that is the luck of the draw. The room had a small fridge and a nice TV. It is the first hotel I have been in that used instant coffee, bit it was actually pretty good. The bathroom featured one of those overhead rain showerheads, which I liked a lot. We went to breakfast pretty late our first day and they had run out of milk, eggs, croissants and other things and did not refill them. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly situated in the city to get to all of the tourist destinations in short order. All and all, this is a solid hotel in a great location.

My wife and I had made plans to travel to Norway before the COVID virus hit. Because my wife has a weak immune system (and because most of the world was shutting down), we decided well in advance of our trip (scheduled for May, 2020) to cancel our plans. While airlines and hotels were all being hurt by the shutdown, we were impressed and grateful (we are retired and live on a fixed income) by the almost universal approach to our situation. The airline granted us a full refund. Whether we went through Orbitz or Expedia, it didn't matter -- EVERY hotel in Norway granted us a full refund -- with one extraordinary exception. Hotel Oleana insisted on keeping our full deposit. They have it to this day. I just wrote to them one last time last week (a YEAR after our first request for a refund). They didn't bother to respond. Dead silence -- with our money in their pockets. Stay here if you wish. It's probably a pretty hotel. But if I were going to visit Bergen, I suspect there are plenty of hotels who genuinely understand customer service -- and deserve our business more than these folks do. All of Norway should be proud of how supported we were.....yes, with this one exception. Shame on Hotel Oleana.

Nice hotel, very nice interior. Good breakfast! Missing heat in the bathroom, and in our room there was a lightstrip over the curtains that turns on when you turn the lights off! Mandatory nightlight? Extremely annoying...

Maybe the highest quality hotel in Bergen for the price you pay. Also gives you the ability to use a gym card at the closest gym plus a great breakfast included in the room price.

The hotel is a little old but it has lots of style, friendly staff and a great location. You will need to park the car a block or two away though. Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from.
