Amazing, but was boring for kids due to the lack of facilities and activities for children.

The unprofessional attitude of one of the staff really spoiled our day there , Mr Lars which was the staff upon returning from up to down was unprofessional at all , he was really rude. I have tried to be realistic with him , but he is extremely stunt minded . I don’t think he should deal with any customer, unlike the extremely gentle employee who was down, the employee down was extremely friendly and helpful. The unfortunate incident happened on 4 July at about 3 pm .

If you have the money, you should do it. It is about 60 euros if you do the round trip. But the view you'll get from that station is incredible. And the restaurant at the top isn't that expensive. And if you are brave enough, you can go outside the station to walk a bit on the mountain :)

The views from the top are stupendous, but there’s not a lot at the top apart from the view and one restaurant. If you plan to go on a serious hike, then this is the place to start, but I wanted a more gentle walk. So, I enjoyed the view, bought a bun to rent a bit of table space and then came back down. Getting there is easy if you use the cable car shuttle bus – but that is an additional cost. I used public transport (free with the Bergen Card) but google was a bit bewildered by the construction work that had barred off part of the recommended route. On the third attempt I found a local who gave me cheerful directions. There are absolutely no indications at the bus stop about how to walk there, but it’s only 10 minutes away. If you have time to do both, then both this and the funicular are worth it for the views. If you can only do one of them, then the funicular is cheaper, easily accessible from Bergen centre, has a range of refreshment outlets, an adventure playground if you have little ones with you, and has pleasant trails at the top that make for easy walking.

Best view is from the top obviously and the cable car ride is quite short so I recommend to take a walk (unless you know that you couldn't make it). In my opinion the cost of tickets is to high. But certainly you have to get on top when you visit Bergen. Except the view you can get good coffee with cake. Nearest car park has very limited spots.

Cable car takes you up to Ulriken, which takes app. 5 mins. It’s not that cheap but still worth it. Still there is a 900 stairs hiking path. If you think to have the suitable outfit and shoes you can also experience that.

The Ulriksbanen is a fantastic trip in Bergen. I highly recommend it. Up there, you get the most spectacular view of Bergen. The trip up and down takes about 5 minutes each way. It is clean and tidy on the Ulriksbanen. There is a restaurant and toilets available. There are also hiking trails for those who want to walk. The downside is that there is nothing for children. There is no playground. And the food at the restaurant is expensive. But if you want a fantastic view, and it's a sunny day, I recommend this wonderful trip.

Gorgeous! Must see. We enjoy a simple breakfast in the cafe on the top of the hill. I saw some tourists walking down the hill. You may take the cable car uphill and walk down. It takes about 10 minutes one way in the cable car.

Nice view over Bergen and, of you are fit and eager, the walk up (our just down) would be good to do (we didn't do it).

Probably the best viewpoint of Bergen! You can also see the snowy mountains behind Bergen, to get a 360 view of the whole region. The cafe at the top has food, snacks and drinks. Lots of trekking paths start here, so you can spend the whole day in the surrounding area.

We hiked from Floyen to Ulriken. Amazing hike, very long and tough near Ulriken. There was not much signage on where to go near Ulriken. Cable car was fun and views were great.

Not cheap, but well worth it for the beautiful views. Nice restaurant with freshly prepared food and great macchiato lattes at the top. Stays open late most days, so you don't need to rush.

Best views on Bergen. Pricey since ride to top is only 5 minutes (you can hike up, about 1 mile to top); rt ride is $36 US/ person and bus from center/ waterfront was another $10.... if it's not clear skies, skip it as this is a bit over priced...funicular ride just as good and much cheaper.

Expensive, but worth it. Great scenic view over Bergen and the mountains surrounding it. The ride up went fast and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the view from the top. We walked down again, and it was a great hike down 1333 steps. Worth the trip for sure, but the price up could have been less.

Hiking is easy but stairs are tough. Nice view from the top but check weather before you go. It is extremely windy, take windbreakers and gloves to protect yourself. Many hiking trails leading to different points with clear instructions. The restaurant staff at the top was super friendly and cheerful.

Amazing place to see. Incredible views, truly breathtaking. Highly recommended the experience. You can get Ulriken express bus (small yellow bus) a street away from the tourist information centre by the fish market. It is 280K for a return bus and cable car fare.

  • 5/5 Thiago B. 4 years ago on Google
Amazing view! It is possible to see all the city, the harbor, football stadium! It is possible to get there by walk (1 hour in average) or by cable car. I really recommend to visit this place in Bergen

  • 5/5 Aazu .. 5 years ago on Google
The place is beautiful. Breathtaking views from the top. You can either hike or take the cable car to the top. There can be long queues for cable car because there are only 2 cars. But the place is totally worth it.

  • 5/5 Paul V. 4 years ago on Google
An amazing view it to be seen of Bergen and the surrounding landscape on a cold clear day. Be prepared for the steps if you are not using the cable car as it can be quite hard going in some places. But there are several spots to stop and take in the view and a rest from lower down the mountainside.

Astonishing view for bergen and the fjords, a lot of tourists in addition to hiking guys who are trying to reach the peak and explore the lovely nature of the cliff. Too much cold and windy area even during summer season so it is Best to have rain coat and to put winter outfit when planning to go there

(Translated by Google) If you want to make a wonderful trip, take the cable car on the Ulriken. Here you have a magnificent panoramic view and many hiking trails invite you to move something. At the mountain station there is a restaurant and a flagpole with the Norwegian flag. On this mast you can hold on, if you are not afraid of heights, because there is pretty steep downhill and there is no railing. So be careful. Also Vorsicht.

Pretty new cable car station up to Mt. Ulriken's top (643 m above mean sea level). No more than 10 minutes for each way, so quite costly (approx. 70 euros for two persons, back and forth).

  • 4/5 Maurice F. 2 years ago on Google
35 euro is a bit dear for a ticket (yes there are nice views) given it is only a mountain with an antenna station and small cafe on top

  • 5/5 Grace X. 5 years ago on Google
Must go if you are in Bergen! Best views of the city, tallest mountain in the city. Cable car takes you up and there's dozens of hiking trails along the way. Dress warmly, with good shoes and a good camera. Not littered with tourists is also a huge plus.

  • 5/5 Anand R. 4 years ago on Google
The tallest point of Bergen. I wasn't sure what to do in Bergen so booked a trip. Spent about 30 mins. But it's worth. The climate was cold in June at the top. If it was little ok, could have explored more. There is a place for kids to play. Trekking is the best activity here and they have different trek to different places. The city view was just mind blowing. That one view is sufficient to visit Bergen.

  • 5/5 Samantha L. 1 year ago on Google
A great place to visit if your in Bergen. You get discounted price if you purchase the Bergen card ( highly recommended as lots of discounts and free entry to some museums) The views from the top were incredible! Able to see all of Bergen and the surrounding mountains

  • 4/5 Rodrigo C. 1 year ago on Google
Impressive view of Bergen and the surrounding Fjörds. A bit pricey for the short ride and massive problems for parking. Much better to take the attraction bus from city center however it may have a cost.

  • 5/5 Mona L. 1 year ago on Google
Fun to take the cable car uphill and hike on top of the hill. It connects with a few more hills. Them take your time to walk down those 1333 steps.

  • 3/5 Ahmed K. 1 year ago on Google
Quit pricy for nothing special, I pit expensive journey for 345 NOK ($35) for round trip, kids have discounted rate not free. The view is okay but nothing much else to do up there. I have tried similar cable cars around Asia and Europe where there will be some activities and places to go on the top, this top was empty and almost neglected other than a restaurant / coffe shop.

I cannot rate the aerial tramway itself because I couldn't use it. The weather in Bergen can be brutal at times, when I visited during 'typical Bergen autumn' the cable car wasn't even running then! Imagine if I bought the annual pass! I did do the 1500 something steps hike instead and I was dumbfounded that there wasn't much to do at the top. There are no trails and walkways, you have to make your own way through the rocky and mushy soil, just picture Bergen very wet and you know. Besides the view isn't really that great. Lots of reviews are raving here, but I'll guarantee you that the same attraction was significantly better in Tromsø which is very similar. The views are three times more worth it only the hike is more grueling. At least the bus to Montana brings you 1/4th of the entire walk, in Tromsø your start begins at the landmark church. Also I totally despise that the Ulriksbanen is hidden somewhere behind the Bergen Sjukehus and you need a tacky tourist service to get there. Giving you guys this as tips!!!

Awesome view. Nice cosy cafe. Frequent service to mount and back.. Shuttle service is until around 1800 which isn't a great help. Expensive parking

Best view of Bergen! It was quite snowy when we went so we decided to take the cable car which was a great option. Amzing views all the way up. The Cafe was open but did not have any vegan options (other than coffee and tea). Regardless it was a great trip up and highly recommend to anyone at any time of year!

We thought it was awesome on top of Mt Ulriken and the view cleared up 4 us too! Delicious cinnamon buns, view, great use of time!

Wonderful trip on a lovely refurbished cable car that takes you to a point where you can view the whole of Bergen and its surrounding Fjords and islands. The added bonus is the bar and restaurant at the top, where we enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine, and the views were breathtaking. There is still snow up here even in May, and my wife and I have to indulge ourselves in our time-honoured tradition of launching a snowball or two at each other. If you can avoid the self-centered selfie and running commentary people walking and talking to themselves, good luck as this makes for a better contemplative place to be.

After a nice ride, we could park the bikes very close. Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy and rainy, the clouds blocked the view from above. The cable car ride is quick and provides a nice view as well.

Went both ways with the lift. It had snowed the day before and luckily it wasn't windy. Excellent views at the top. Had fish soup at the restaurant

Amazing views of Bergen and surrounding areas from this viewpoint, reached by the mountain cable car. Pay attention to the schedules, because sometimes the cable car is not operational. Everything is automated, so it's better to buy tickets in advance. Plenty of mountain hiking opportunity once you are up there.

Wow. Just wow. The ride up the Ulriken643 cable car was a great ride. Once you get atop the mountain things just get better. The views are beautiful and the mountain itself is another great experience.

Quick and convenient service to the top of the mountain. All facilities were clean and well maintained. But AVOID THIS PLACE DURING BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS!!! Standing inside thick, wet fog and not seeing anything is not worth NOK 365. It would be nice if the operators of the cable car could inform the people about possible bad conditions on the top before buying the tickets.

The price for the lift is super expensive but the view you get and the hikes you can take is truly worth it. Make sure to bring hiking boots and have some food with you

Beautiful place to see sunsets in Bergen. A must go. Remember to bring warm clothes. It's really cold when the sun sets. U won't last if u just bring a sweater.

Something to do away from the tourist crowds and have a magnificent views of Bergen and it’s surroundings. If you come with the car, be easy to have troubles finding parking. If you walk from the city (about half hour), be ready to be tired. Price - one way €18 per person (not peanuts, but the banen was completely renovated and is very smooth and comfy). Do not attempt to climb to the top!!! It’s super steep and second half has very uneven basalt steps - overall 1333 of them. Views from the top spectacular! We went up with the cart and came down walking - my knees are burning :( and I cycle and lift weights.

👍👍 A must visit when in Bergen!! Delicious fresh, local fish. A varied menu to suit anyone in your party. The best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Light and crispy batter, super quality fish. The oysters were amazing! All the staff are so lovely. Special shout out to Lina for making my multiple visits so...
