Not enough time here to take it all in. Fascinating Harbour frontage. It wasn't that they did not have spirit levels and squares but a big ship explosion so those houses left standing were a bit out of square.

It is one of the most popular tourist spots in Bergen. All the ferries and cruises leave from here. Tourist Information Centre and famous Fish Market are here. There are a lot of hotels and restaurants nearby. A great place for people watch.

visited in 1996 as part of us navy cruise. a picturesque area filled with colorful buildings, bustling fish markets, and charming cafes. the harbor is a hub of activity, with boats and ferries coming and going, and locals going about their daily routines. visitors can take a stroll along the waterfront, watch the seagulls and boats, or explore the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town. the area is also home to several historic landmarks, such as the imposing bergenhus fortress and the charming hanseatic wharf. with its unique atmosphere and rich cultural heritage, bergen norway harbor is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to the region.

Nice area to walk, enjoy a drink or food, and shop. Only detraction this trip was due to no wharf vendors as we had experienced in the past and was looking forward to sampling smaller food options. Still, the Bergen area is friendly to visitors with a wide variety of food, drink, shopping, and site seeing offerings. Expect a few up and downhill streets to navigate if touring the town on your own.

Fantastic and friendly harbour both for sail training ships as well as for smaller yachts. Berthing right in the historic center. Absolutely brilliant place and a gate to a brilliant cruising ground!

Beautiful harbor, made even nicer by the low light of a summer evening. We were there late (22:00) so pretty much everything was closed but enjoyed our walk, photos, and sights of the buildings and people.

The port of Bergen will not leave you indifferent. It is beautiful both to walk through its shops and markets selling fresh and traditional products, and to sit and contemplate the city and the mountain of Floyen. It is full of life even on gray and rainy days.

Full of bars, restaurants and souvenir shops, can walk around in an hour, similar size like the Marseille old harbor.

The harbor provides a very cozy flair to the city center of Bergen. You can find lots of restaurants and shops around it. Walking around it is definitely worth it and will take 15-30 minutes for the entire „U shape“ :-) We enjoyed it a lot.

Bergen's harbour is a magical place to be as the sun sets. As the sun goes down behind the endless sea, the lights of thousands of wooden houses dotted all up the tree-lined mountains go on, illuminating the city like fireflies. The feel of Bergen is magical yet natural - a delight to have visited.

I was fortunate enough to take the high speed catamaran from Flåm to Bergen and was greeted with this view as we came into the harbour. The tourist information centre is behind me in the first photo and has some great ideas and free wifi.
