The staffs were really nice and friendly. There were some interactive games among the exhibits and we also enjoyed the 2 short films. We spent about 1.5hrs there.

Great museum for learning about the history of the fishing industry here, in particular the process for producing Stockfish. On the top floor there is a wonderfully produced video of three guys discussing what it was like to be out on the sea fishing and the dangers involved. The oldest guy in partivular reminisces about the old times. Also a very good documentary detailing the collapse of the seal trade industry as a result of highly charged public opinion across the world. Plenty to see here, I've just highlighted several things I enjoyed.

The museum itself is fun, but what I strongly recommend is to book the excursion to a fish farm! The ride was amazing, the guide is a marine biologist ready to answer all your questions and the view is incredible. After, you will have plenty of time to explore the museum anf learn even more about the fisheries in Norway.

Interesting museum but so confusing in the explanations, rythm and visitor experience. No titles to the panels, graphs and charts without descriptions and legends. The overall chronology is not well explained and we left wanting to understand more. Fun activities for children but these remain somewhat superficial compared to the panels intended for the adults. One great aspect of this museum though is the location and building.

Great way to spend a few hours and learn about Norway's rich fishing history. I especially enjoyed the bit about seal hunting. The woman at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Interesting little place and a nice 20 minute walk from the main harbour area. Probably better for families but some interesting and varied displays - I also learnt a thing or two which is always a bonus. Nice coffee and souvenir shop.

The red bearded Danish oceanographist guide that took us to the salmon fishery was great: widely knowledgeable in any topics related to sea as well as salmon, from science to business. He elaborated on many questions we asked and made the visit really interesting and fulfilling. The trip by RIB speed boat was thrilling in itself, by the way.

The place is presented as if it is the end of the world in terms of history and historical rendition of dishes in the Scandinavian region. However, it is so horribly boring that a visit to this place is a total waste of time. The place may be good enough for little kids but for a group of adults, it was unbelievably boring and full of ennui. The place is huge and filled with one or two fish models plus a few fishing boats. The rest are a few tv screens playing boring documentaries and movies.

Very nice little museum, you can also get on the green kayak website and volunteer to pick up trash around the bay on their kayaks!

Comprehensive description of history of fishing in Norway and Bergen area. Interactive and extensive explanations of the factors influencing the fishing industry. The separated part of the museum contains all the info related to fish farming industry. We enjoyed the visit greatly.

There are many small games for kids here. Very attactive for kids. Fish farming done in Norway is explained. We quickly skimmed through the museum. Bergen card made us visit this place for free.

Great balance between content and activities for kids and for adults. Super friendly staff, and fascinating insights into the politics of the fishing industry throughout history. 100% worth the walk or short bus ride — highly recommended!

I mostly went for the green kayak location and it was a really nice experience. Got a nice view of Bergen from sea and helped remove trash in the meantime :)

Neat museum that takes an honest look at the history and future of fishing/whaling/seal trade in Norway and the world-wide impact. Impressive interactive exhibits, I would have loved visiting as a kid as well.

This was a great way to spend a few hours on a cold rainy day. It showed old equipment and techniques used to process fish. This is what made Bergen famous 700 years ago.

Great museum with many interactive rooms. My 3 years old loved it. I liked that the kids activities are close to some great panels for adults so you can make the most out of it!

Must see Museum in Bergen ! Very friendly, helpful and motivated team there, which take the time for the visitors - which made this museum visit very personal. You should really plan enough time for this very nice and modern - but also historical museum - i would say at least 2 hours minimum. i liked the mix between the history, culture and modern way how the museum is built up. and also - i would pay more than 90 NOK to see this museeum ;) I higly recommend to take the Heritage Ferry to the City Center - its only 65 NOK and it feels just great to be on such a historical boat.

A great musuem just a little outside the citycenter. My partner and I had access to this musuem thanks to the Bergen Card. Without it, I don't think we would have gone. You learn a lot about the fisheries industry in Bergen and Norway. It's connected to a very nice restaurant where we had stopped by for a quick snack.

Very unique museum located in a former wooden warehouse by the sea. Very informative exhibition and interactive fun games for kids (and adults as well). Fee entrance with Bergen card.

Had great fun here, learn lots and the children had fun. The café serves good latte and even better Danish apple pastries.

Interesting museum with a lot of information about the fishing world but if you are not really interested it can become boring. Other problem are the opening hours because they open at 11 to 15, but this is a problem of different museums in Bergen. By the way is very nice and in a historical building.

The exhibition is nice and interactive. It is not large, but few hours can be easily spent there. The museum is located in old wooden buildings, which are already impressive by themselves.
