Great hike! There was still snow and ice so it made getting up the mountain significantly more difficult. If you have crampons or Yak Trax that would be incredibly beneficial.

Approximately 900 stairs. 20-40% gradient. Nice view at the top!

My favourite trail among the nearby ones I tried, Ulriken and Trolltunga. Nice steepness gets you feeling your gluteus maximus contract. What makes it more appealing to me than those other trails is the walk path varies between soil, tree roots, and stone steps. Plenty of pretty views while looking down for your next step, and ofcourse more views when you look around. To enjoy the other trails, you would have to really look around for pretty views, then look back down at the boring road or ice (Trolltunga), or stone steps all the way (Ulriken). Do take my opinion with a grain of salt, as I did not complete ALL of Trolltunga, nor did I do the mountain peak to mountain peak hike between Stoltzen to Ulriken.

Really nice hike just outside the city center of Bergen. You can get there by walking or by bus. It’s a steep flight of steps and it takes around 25 minutes for a normally fit person. The view from the top is amazing, especially at sunset. Until late March it’s better to use spikes cause there could be a lot of ice/snow. From the top you can choose to continue to Floyen or Rundemanen.

Extraordinary walk, absolutely must do. Beware that if it rains (which is always) there are many uncovered parts so bring the right gear.

Really is 800 steps. Lots of locals use as an outdoor stair stepper. So you'll have company rain or shine. I would not recommend if its icy. If you need a knee break after getting to the top, walk to floyen (1-2miles?) and take the tram down.

Gorgeous hiking trail. The steps can be slippery in rains so wear proper shoes. Not very difficult

Stoltzen has a nice view if you want to take it easy and a hard session if you want to give it your all🌟 Good steps all the way up. Nice to go up Stoltzen and down the tailor's valley or further over to Fløyen.

Here it starts, hundreds of steps, a sweaty process all the way up, but the view is worth every drop.

Nice hiking area, there are stone stairs all the way to the top. Be prepare to get tired, some climbing areas can be a bit steep and the stairs are very tall. The view from the top deserves 5 stars, you will forget about the pain in a second 😅

Worst set of steps I’ve ever had the misfortune to traverse. And to top it all off, they lead nowhere. I advise you crawl your way up this famous Bergen ‘attraction’. What’s attractive? The fact that there is an end. Why award it five stars? Because I think I imagined the whole thing. I’ve never been back and never will go back, which makes me think…nay pray it doesn’t actually exist.

It's a beautiful hiking trail. The stairs can be steep, uneven and slippery. Maybe nothing special for experienced hikers, but clearly not the easy tourist stroll. At least wear proper shoes for the way.
