Okay lets begin with the most positive aspect: the location - it is perfect in my opinion. Right next to the historic city center but still in a rather relaxed corner of the entire tourist area. The rooms are small but okay (standard double room). We had two separate beds though, which we had to push together first. Service was kind and breakfast very good, but a bit busy and sometimes you had to wait a bit for refill. When you arrive by car, you have a public(!) parking garage underneath the hotel. Expensive!!! (Over 30€ per 24h - no discount as hotel guest). Overall a very good option to stay at when you want to explore Bergen.

This hotel offers a great breakfast buffet, clean rooms and very friendly staff. However, the elevator which could be modernized does not reach the underground parking garage, and unfortunately for the first night we got accommodated in a lower room category due to availability issues. The fitness area is probably a bit undersized for a hotel this size. Overall, this Hotel is a good choice for guests looking for a comfortable stay.

We had a perfect stay in a really nice room with our own coffee machine and an amazing breakfast buffet for a cheap price. Really nice location, close to the center and just 20 meters away from the water. The beds were really good so we slept pretty well after watching some Netflix on the modern and huge TV. Relaxing in the hotel felt really well after a long and nice shower in the modern bathroom

Good location but most of the staff were pretty apathetic. We arrived after 00:00 so wanted to notice the hotel about our late arriving, tried to send a lot of emails, to call them, by booking site, nothing worked, nobody replied!!! After we’d finally arrived the reception didn’t care about that (said they were too busy to answer). There is a parking down the hotel but it doesn’t belong to the hotel and there wasn’t even some discount, so you’ll pay 280 NOK for 24h. The last we got not upgraded room although we’d pay for an upgraded room so only after call to the reception (at the middle of the night) they transferred us to another room still with awful view. So the feeling pretty much bad…

Disappointingly small rooms and bathrooms. Not very welcoming reception staff, and a complete lack of Radisson Rewards membership perks (no upgrade, no water. Nice location is about the only positive from our visit so far

Very nice hotel at a beautiful spot in Bergen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is amazing an very extensive. Unfortunately at weekends or busy weekdays, you have to follow a certain time slot system to attent at breakfast. The rooms are good, bathrooms not luxury but okay.

Really lovely, clean and smart hotel. Room was lovely, could do with a better window as it was only small but it was spacious inside and lovely. The Nespresso was a really nice touch. The chap who checked us in was really friendly. There’s parking opposite which is expensive but easily accessed. Only limited spaces though.

The sweetest staff ever! Everyone is so nice and helpful. Extra shout out to Malina for helping us get umbrellas and a small screw driver for my glasses. She made my trip yo Bergen. The rooms are clean, organized and comfy.

Wonderful stay! The staff were all friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean, and the breakfast each morning was delicious. We especially enjoyed that our room on the top floor had a ceiling that matched the pitch of the rest of the buildings of Bryggen.

Excellent location, fantastic breakfast, nice staff but rooms are small. We struggled with 2 mid size suitcases, if you have more than that then order a larger room...seriously, the double room.s are two small.

I can’t speak more highly of this hotel. The service was exceptional! We couldn’t figure out how to operate the lights and they upgraded us for free to a business suite even though it was no fault of theirs. The location is idyllic and is probably the best spot in Bergen. The food from the restaurant was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended stay and we will definitely be back!

I can not recommend this hotel enough. This was my first trip to Norway and unfortunately I broke my ankle and required surgery while hiking. The hotel helped me change and extended my stay. They helped my sister with my bags and even found me a wheelchair to use while I was in town. At every step they helped me try and continue my dream vacation while I was hurting. I want to thank each member of the staff I encountered. Your hospitality is the best I have seen in my travels.

Excellent location very close to the coloured buildings next to the pier that appear in all Bergen photos. Easy access to the centre is quite convenient. The rooms and decor were a bit dated but clean and functional. Reasonable wait time for check-in.

Nice hotel, very nice location. Unfortunately we faced an issue with our payment with a Revolut card leading to a situation where we were charged twice for the room. Since I face difficulties to get some support from the hotel.

The location of this hotel makes it a top choice for tour groups setting off for cruises (which I was also doing). I also had dinner here one evening and it was very good. But here are the downsides: 1. checking in was a nightmare with hundreds of people attempting to get rooms and 3 people working the front desk; 2. the room I was initially assigned had a really foul odor (not cigarettes but something very rancid), and 3. I was kept awake all night by seagulls squawking as loud as they could. Next morning when I asked about it, I was told the gulls nest on the roof right by my room and they've just had their babies and are busy all night long feeding etc. And seagulls are protected animals so there is nothing the hotel can do to move them along.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Bergen. The location is central and the service is fantastic The rooms are nice and the restrooms are modern. The breakfast is excellent, so plan on spending a while at the breakfast corner! I will be back :-!

We were very happy with our stay. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly, our room was a bit worn but still in a clean and comfortable condition. Particularly noteworthy is the great breakfast buffet. There was everything you could wish for in the morning. We also consistently experienced great service staff - whether checking our room number (best wishes to Simon! :-)) or during the hustle in the restaurant. In addition, the location is unbeatable and everything you want to experience in the upper side of Bergen is within easy walking distance. The express bus to the airport leaves right in front of the hotel door and you have everything you need in the immediate vicinity of the Hanseatic district of Bryggen. We would only see the accessibility via e-mail as something that could be improved. Upon arrival, it was not clear which booking number was assigned to us, despite repeated contact by us and the hotel. We can’t wait to see Bergen again and we’ll definitely come back!

I am a Radisson member. We were in room 312 between 23-27 September 2023. General service was good. Location of hotel is excellent. Staff professional. Rooms: Beds & pillows were too soft & uncomfortable. On 26 September, our beds were not made. The covers were simply thrown over them. When I pulled back the covers, the sheet underneath hadn't been straighten up. The pillows were exactly as we left them. They were not fluffed and/or straighten up either. Had the beds been made then the paper on the floor between the beds should have been picked up. Basically, the bins were emptied & towels changed, nothing else. When guests are paying big $$ for a room then, they expect at least the basic room service. In addition, lift 1 required maintenance as it was not opening flush with the floor but there was approximately 3-5cm step. This was extremely dangerous as it was a trip hazard. Although we brought it to the attention of staff, the lift continued to be in service.

Booked the standard room with a double bed that was advertised with Air Conditioning. Checked into a stuffy and hot room with a non working air conditioner. Informed the front desk about the AC and was told half of the room in the hotel have no AC. The only solution offered was a small little fan as they claimed they were fully booked. Miraculously after kicking up a fuss, they were able to offer me a room with a twin bed with AC. I suspect that the available room is of a higher tier. (Bigger room and bathtub) Terrible experience.

Was double charged for both room and breakfast. Getting in contact with the hotel by phone or email is an absolute nightmare. Two months later they still haven''t returned my double charged breakfast costs or responded by email or phone.

It's a Radisson so not much to say. They are all the same. Good rooms. Although the shower was in the bath and I'm 5'9 and my head was near the ceiling when I stood in the bath so Radisson please modernise the shower in room 442. Great breakfast. Super friendly staff. We didn't eat dinner there. Location in Bergen is perfect for everything

The rooms are basic. What is very disappointing is the snow clearing around the entrance. The amount of snow in Bergen is always very limited and even this small amount was not cleared. And as such there is a high risk of slip and falls when entering this hotel. Breakfast is good. And the location is close to the city centre.

Fantastic location. Extremely tasty breakfasts with a big variety of food, set focus on the local kitchen, so you must try their fish and cheeses. Tidy and cozy rooms (nice looking interior with pictures of local attractions), but a bit small. Very comfortable beds. Good service. Highly recommending.

I picked this hotel thinking it’s away from the busy street. Requested quiet room with window and hotel arranged accordingly. However, note that there’s a nightclub down the street and you can hear drunk people at night especially on Saturday night. Great selection of breakfast, you can also order from the ale carte menu. Hotel main entrance is not facing directly at the pier and there’s a market in front of the hotel for your convenience. Safe is broken in our room. Minor cosmetic in the bathroom that’s not pleasant to see. Overall, comfortable stay.

This hotel is far from the standards you would expect from a Radisson hotel. The rooms are disappointing, the room had a mini window and a shower curtain hanging in front of the window!? Furniture is tatty and worn. The room was dirty and the bathroom has only shortcomings. Water glasses in the room were used. The common areas such as the hallway and elevators are filthy and there is trash on the floors. Breakfast was good and breakfast staff friendly. Wifi works ok.

During my visit, I encountered several issues with the room provided, which significantly impacted my overall experience. Despite being upgraded to a higher-tier room, I regret to inform you that my stay was far from satisfactory. Firstly, the television in the room was not functional, rendering it impossible for me to enjoy the amenities provided. This was particularly disappointing, given my Premium membership status, which usually ensures a seamless and comfortable stay. Additionally, the washroom presented a major inconvenience. Upon using the facilities, I discovered that the washroom turned into a pool due to what I believe to be plumbing issues. This unexpected situation not only created discomfort but also raised concerns about the overall maintenance of the hotel. I promptly informed the staff at the front office about these issues, seeking assistance to resolve the technical problems and a possible room change. Unfortunately, I was informed that there was no one available to address the technical issues, and there were no alternative rooms available for me to move into. As a loyal member of the Radisson community, I am disheartened by this experience, as it does not align with the high standards of service I have come to expect from your esteemed establishment. I believe that prompt attention to these matters is crucial to maintaining the reputation of the Radisson brand.

According to the dear price we wanted a good room. We received a room that looked like a roof. And you do not see landscape at all. On the 5 floor. With a small window that cannot be opened. And almost no air goes. Birds build up all the time nest by the window. The rooms are not maintained. They invest in beauty of the lobby and more entrance from the rooms themselves. The only good thing is the location of the hotel, but there are many more in the area, checked well before ...

Stayed 3 nites as a pre-cruise stay on 2/14-2/17 before boarding on a Viking cruise. Very pleased with our stay. Front desk was very welcoming and eager to help. Breakfast buffet was excellent with wide selection. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Will definitely stay again.

One of the most centrally located hotels in Bergen (Bryggen next door) for discovering the city on foot. Parking is available for a fee, e. g. in the underground car park directly in front of the hotel (approx. 29,00 €/day) or in the surrounding car parks. Clean and comfortable rooms (in this case Superior Room) with enough storage space. The bathroom incl. open shower also offers enough space. The breakfast is a buffet with a rich selection of breads, cereals, drinks and juices, as well as many other delicacies such as cold cuts and cheeses or fried food (eggs, bacon, etc.) from the kitchen counter. In general, the service staff was very friendly and attentive.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Nice amenities. Allowed us early checkin. Restaurant was closed for a business luncheon, so had to walk to find food, and Bergens cobblestone streets, while quaint, are nit wheelchair friendly, nor are most of the shops and dining on the waterfront.

Rooms only get a four due to the problems that I had. Service was fantastic, I had an issue with my room, outlet did not work, and then another one with the room they put me in after, sink clogged up, but they handled everything well. Also being on the water is fantastic!

Nice view and location.Clean rooms.Very tasty with a lot of varieties breakfast. The restaurant has tasty food but wasn’t organized so we wait a long for the order and our meal.Helpful and polite staff eventhough the most times was difficult to understand each other because the level of the English language was low.

Excellent location, rooms are standard, there is no ventilation in the room in this season, just a standalone old fashion rotating fan 😔

A short city break. Comfortable hotel in ideal location for exploring Bergen on foot. Added bonus the airport bus stops here.

The good - The location was great for me. Short walk from the light rail, close to many restaurants and stores, and close to the Floyen (wonderful forest). The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The room was good sized with plenty of closet space, spots to put luggage, and plentiful plugs. Shower had good water pressure and nice big towels. We didn’t have to wait for elevators which is nice. Things I didn’t love - The bathroom was just kind of sad looking. The shower gel was water not gel so guessing it was refilled. I assume this hotel gets a cruise guest influx so don’t plan on checking in early. Or for us, on time. We couldn’t get into the room until 4. You could store luggage but not with a tag system. It was a locked room (but one any guest could access). Overall it was fine.

Check in was very slow. Rooms were basic with no cooling capacity. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was not cleaned apart from bin emptied. Beds were not made, towels as we left them. Hallway smelt of cigarettes. Breakfast was plentiful but did not open until 7am. Hotel is in a great location, close to everything.

I stayed first week of Aug 2022 the stay was very pleasant but the remarkable lady name Marjory made our breakfast time so charming with her friendly, warm and beautiful service. For sure Miss Agnes touched my daughter and I hearts because when she knew she was sick on her holiday and did not eat any thing when she woke up she wanted some fruits she got my all the help to get recovered.

We were given a sub-par room, broken amenities, bad housekeeping, but the breakfast buffet was awesome (for extra charge). Broken sauna, broken mini fridge, broken mirror, malfunctioning hairdryer, broken elevator next to our room, and the room was located in a distant corner. The lack of air conditioning is normal, but do expect to be woken up in the early morning by seagulls gawking loudly in your ear. We were very disappointed about the broken sauna, as that was a selling point for us. The first day, housekeeping came in twice and we let them know they could skip us for that day. But we didn’t mean for the rest of our stay. The next couple days, we came back to an unmade bed, dirty towels everywhere, dirty glasses, and yet they replaced a coffee cup of all things? How strange. The buffet had a little bit of everything; salmon, veggies, fruit, English breakfast, pastries, cappuccino machine, etc. The waffles made to order were also delicious! Definitely try them the local traditional way with sour cream and jam! Great location, in the heart of the cute historic shopping area, the nightlife, and great restaurants.

The room did not live up to expectations. The beds were too soft and thus not as comfortable as I would have liked. The shower/bathtub was truly awful, especially for taller people, at 190 cm I could not fit under the shower head, and the angle of the tub bottom provided for a miserable experience. Otherwise the hotel had an excellent location and breakfast was good.

  • 4/5 Christine C. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel was in a great central location. The included breakfast was great and the service was outstanding. The room was small and very, very hot. There was no way to control the temperature. An early morning shower was cold. If showering after 9am, it was warmer.

I was here for three weeks for business. Very nice hotel. Spacious room, very good breakfast. Very friendly staff. Steam room and sauna free of charge. Cons: There is not much choices in hotel restaurant; Room temperature is fixed and it was a bit chilly for me.

Friendly staff, good breakfast with lots of choice and in the Bryggen area. We had two nights here and would recommend. Did not est at the restaurant which has had some bad reviews lately. But there are some very nice restaurants in easy walking distance.

Lovely hotel. Lovely rooms. Good food. But service at the hotel reception is a disaster. The staff at reception 1)are so unbelievably slow and 2) they have learned the fine art of totally ignoring customers. A smile with the words, "I'll be with in a second" would help so much. But alas. When l was there they had a group of students working in reception. I asked where the stairs were to the conference centre. She knew not. Absolutely no training at all before putting them on the job. It took three people to make someone a cup of coffee, while we others waited to be helped. Why staff at reception are serving guests coffee is anyone's guess?? It really was bad
