I'll start by saying that the hotel is in the perfect location and is a very nice hotel. We had an overall nice stay. The breakfast is included and is one of the best buffet breakfasts I have ever had at a hotel! There is just so much of anything you can think of for breakfast! The lobby bar is great for having a drink and hanging out before or after dinner. The room was also nice. It's a good sized room. The view that we had wasn't great. It was facing a building. So not all the rooms have great views. The room didn't have a fridge. There was a little drawer with bottles but didn't seem like it kept cold. So there was nowhere to keep anything cold if you needed to. Another issue was the noise. The last two nights we stayed were weekend nights. It was very noisy until about 3 am, which made it hard to sleep. This was not mentioned in any reviews when looking up this hotel so I wanted to make sure that people are aware of the noise when staying over the weekend. Also, for a 4 star hotel I wished they would have offered to bring up our luggage for us when we checked in and out and also would have been nice if they gave bottles of water for free in the rooms like other hotels do. Lastly, the spa is not actually an included amenity. It costs money to even just use the spa area itself. And, in order to use the spa, you need to make a reservation. In addition to this, you cannot use the spa even if you book a massage. So, overall, I would recommend this hotel, but would suggest a room that does not face the side of the bars and would not recommend staying on a weekend.

I hardly make time to write a review ever, but for this hotel I gladly make an acception. Beautiful hotel, terrible service and too expensive for what it offers! Parking prices through the roof and they promote with beautiful pictures of the pool and spa area, but you can use them only if you pay extra and only if you book way in advance. If you come there for a swim and there is nobody in the pool, you still can't use it. Fix your crazy policies! If you're looking to get ripped off, this is the right place for you! Addition: so I read the spa and pool are not controlled by the hotel management. Fine, but don't advertise with/for them when their rules are so crazy. Especially when they don't have their own website and I can't review them. It's just a scam!

We stayed for two nights in September 2023. I have stayed at Hotel Norge a few times before – but this was the first time after the renovation. The check in area is stylish and check in was fast and we got room 519. The room was quite stylish with wooden floor, lights walls, modern lighting and with sofa, table and a comfortable bed. There was a large flat screen TV (with quite a few channels not working for some reason) and an ironing board hidden behind a mirror. The open wardrobe had a few hangers, and a cabinet hid the small fridge (with a few bottles but I could not find the price list), an iron and a safe. The bathroom was in grayish tiles and had a great shower area and the soap/shampoo and conditioner had pleasant scents. We had a view to a street outside and as there were a few bars and restaurants in the area, it was a bit noisy at night. As we walked out of the room, it seemed like we had to lock it with our keycard – I’m not sure I understand the logic in this! The breakfast area is large and has avery good selection of food. But this is a large hotel so if you come at peak hour, it is tricky to find a place to sit. The location of the hotel is great – just a short walk to the tram (that you can take to the airport) and just a short walk to the harbor. In the basement there is a pool, sauna and steam room that you can pay to get access to. This was perfect for us as we did a hike after we checked out of the hotel, and it was great to be able to swim and relax a bit before heading to the airport. All in all, a great hotel experience and I would not mind staying at this hotel again when I go to Bergen – and I would happily recommend it to friends and family.

The rooms are a tad small and for the basic option there was no view at all (just into other rooms) but the location and staff more than made up for it! Great breakfast as well with lots of variety. Would not recommend the spa as its quite expensive for a small area and rather busy. I read in some travel guides that this was a luxury option for bergen and while the rooms are pretty it didn't feel particularly luxurious. There are quite basic amenities (eg only one mug in the room for coffee, no tissue box or water on arrival) and generally no frills. We also only had housekeeping try to visit once in the 3 days we were there, and it was quite late in the evening which was really odd. So we didn't have our room cleaned at all in 3 days. The reception staff were super friendly and lovely, thank you!

It’s a very nice bar, with very polite and Nice staff, the only minus for me is that if you are not really tall and loud the waiting time to get a chance to order a drink in the bar can be to long, i have experienced my friends leaving because it took forever to get in touch with the bar people…so there should be more barmen there, especially on busy nights. The plus is that when you do get your drink it is good, they know how to make them correct, and if they are empty of some ingredients they are quick to find a substitute 😁. The place is always clean and it has bit more classy atmosphere then other nearby places, with a lot more people over 25😁year then under!!! It is not a nightclub but more a lounge bar with possibility to 💃🏻 🕺🏽 a little if you want to….

It's a beautiful hotel located in absolutely best part of Bergen. The crew are lovely and friendly and always ready to help you. Although because of high traffic of passengers they are really busy, but they have good control and can handle everything as they should. We had two rooms for some nights and the only thing was that the rooms were warmer than they should be and we had to borrow a fan from reception to make it cooler. And the trash bin in the bathroom had no pedal so you had to open it's door by hand which I think is not good. Else, everything was very good indeed and we really enjoyed every moment of our trip. Highly recommend 🌹❤️

Great location and lovely staff with the most amazing breakfast spread and choice you could imagine but the hot food was all cold - even the porridge! Also there was no milk in our room for tea and coffee and we had to request it twice. But the main reason for the low score is because the pool cost extra to use. What nonsense. No-one was it in the whole time we were there. Disgraceful waste.

Hotel Norge is a luxurious and sophisticated hotel located in the heart of Bergen, Norway. The hotel’s lobby and first floor are elegantly designed with intimate lighting, chaise chairs, a DJ booth, and a terraced seating area that exudes sophistication and chic ambiance. The hotel offers a wide variety of rooms to cater to the diverse needs of its guests. The standard rooms are tastefully designed and decorated with contemporary furnishings, providing a cozy and comfortable space for guests. These rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV, a minibar, and a luxurious en suite bathroom with a rainfall shower. The superior rooms offer more space, a seating area, and larger windows (some rooms have balconies overlooking the heart of Bergen) that provide breathtaking views of the city or mountains. For those who seek extra luxury, the hotel’s executive rooms and suites offer a separate living area, a large working desk, and a Nespresso coffee machine. The suites also have large windows, offering guests panoramic views of the city or the stunning mountains. Regardless of which room you choose, you can expect a comfortable and relaxing stay. Hotel Norge is a perfect choice for discerning travelers looking for a luxurious accommodations. The hotel’s location, dining options, and range of amenities make it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Room nice and the morning breakfast NO WHERE To PARK YOUR CAR. So forget that. Don't go underground the hotel where there are zero spots to waste your time. We went to the closest parking garage and then had to walk over. That evening we tried to go there for dinner but no one ever waited on us for 30 minutes even as hotel guests. We then had all gotten ready for the indoor pool and walked down there at 6pm. Our girls were so excited to go swimming. We entered and then we were told kids only from 7am to 10am. We did not know that ahead of time. And adults were $20.00 per person just to use the pool. We did not know that ahead of time. So that really gave us a bad perception. Made us really sad and disappointed that we chose to stay here. Zero parking spots at the hotel. There is noo way to drop off your luggage.

Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The design is gorgeous. Breakfast was amazing too! Just to find something negative: the lack of sockets by the bed was quite annoying. There are two at the foot-end of the bed but then you’d have to put your phone on the floor… also they advertise that they have bikes that you can borrow for free, but they are not maintained (loose parts, flat tires, etc) and we had to ask 3 staff members before anyone knew what we were talking about.

Very eclectic. A mixture of different types of furniture through out the hotel including rooms. Each room furnished differently. Bed was unusual in that the footboard was "L" shape with half at the bottom and the other half on the side? Restaurant both in the hotel and attached to the hotel. Very good location.

A truly luxurious stay - the hotel's attention to detail was evident in everything from the plush bedding to the spa-like bathroom. The location was perfect for exploring Bergen, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Can't wait to come back!

Location and service was top notch for Norway. Rooms where almost falling a part with loose wiring and a bed madras that was to short for the bed. Noise volume in the room at night was decent for a central location but definitely not quite.

Absolutely fantastic hotel! Book the spa and in advance! After a long travel day, spa was absolutely necessary! Breakfast was wonderful and lots to choose from. In the city center. Has self pay parking which worked out for us great.

Great positioning, big variety to breakfast buffet and really friendly and helpful staff. The staff was not polite to the Norge cafe where we waited for 30' for a coffee. The room was clean but they didn't change the towels during our 4day stay and there were no amenities at all.

The only reason I’m giving such a low star review is, sleeping was terrible for me. It was way to hot in the room and the door/window would barley open. No AC, I could barely sleep it was so warm. And second the pillows were not right. One was way too big and uncomfortable and the other was too small. The hotel was awesome, location was great, food was good. But for sleeping the hotel was terrible. Was up most the night.

Amazing place to stay. The rooms are small but updated with a modern feel. The included breakfast is amazing, the best hotel breakfast buffet spread I have experienced. The location is walkable to everything. The gym has a lot of useful equipment including a squat rack, bench, cables, and free weights.

This is NOT a four-and-a half-star hotel. It is understaffed and some are rather indifferent to customer service. This evening at 11:30 another customer (Scots) and I stepped outside to the patio and were refused an ashtray -- while there was a party on the street!!. I explained that this hotel is a highly rated establishment, and that yes, I'd like to sit in a chair and enjoy a cigarette, We finally got our ashtray, and sat on a railing on the street, while another guest, a very nice lady, was left to STAND while she smoked her cigarettete. It may seem a minor detail, but it's an important one: (And, like it or not, guests DO smoke; in particular it's very common in Europe.) On the bright side, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Four stars at most. This hotels appears to be a staff-deprived corporate profit center rather than a customer-focused refuge for weary travellers,

Hotel Norge exceeded our expectations. We stayed for one night but wishing i could extend the trip just to experience more of this place. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The lobby, rooms, dining and other areas are all beautifully designed. There is a convenient parking garage below the hotel but with limited spots. The location is great as it is just outside the square and about a 5 minute walk to the wharf with tons of restaurants, shops and boat tours nearby. The room was very cozy and surprisingly spacious as in the pictures it can look quite small. Finally, the breakfast buffet was amazing, so many delicious options, definitely would recommend anyone to stay here!

Right in the middle of Bergen city centrum, cool and modern decor. Excellent breakfast with a wide selection of cereals, smoothies, breads & other baked goods. Wide selection in gluten friendly baked goods as well.

The rooms are like a cell block. They say they're a "green hotel" but the rooms have A/C running 24/7 and YOU CAN'T TURN IT OFF. Doesn't sound quite green to me. Anyway, the lobby is nice and modern, and that's it. The parking doesn't belong to the hotel, and you have to pay extra if you want to use the swimming pool/spa. But this isn't the worst: the rooms are not properly cleaned and you can find stains, hairs ... (see the photos attached). They have a customer service chat unattended and a reception telephone unanswered. Huge disappointment for us.

Nice hotel with great staff. I called at 1 am looking for a last minute room, although no housekeeping was available the lady at the reception went on to find a baby crib for us. Breakfast has a good variety and promotes well local products. Rooms are quiet and bedding is comfortable. Location is central and convenient for tourists. It is a real pitty that the hotel charges extra for spa entrance.

Nice hotel within easy walking distance of the main attractions in Bergen. Comfortable rooms, helpful staff & a very stylish decor. Most of the essentials are there for a pleasant stay, although at times there is an element of style over substance & practically. Only had breakfast in the hotel (food wise) but the buffet had a significant variety of food to tempt most pallets. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and indeed our overall stay at the hotel. Would recommend.

Fantastic hotel. Room was spacious with a large corner balcony. So much choice for breakfast! Spa was lovely, made even better by it being very quiet. Staff were very friendly. Only slight downside was booming music from a nearby bar could be heard till late at night, but then the hotel is in the centre of a lively city.

Good location in the citys shopping area. Interior and design for that good feeling. Good food but a bit expensive compared to same quality food in the area.

From easy parking to magnificient breakfast and quick departure, a joyful experience. The hotel is situated right in the middle of Bergen and has a great view from the rooms. The food is also a good reason to stay here, and the friendly and helpful staff is the icing of the cake.

Perfectly nice, well thought of hotel in the middle of Bergen. Honestly one of the best hotels I ever stayed at. The room was squeaky clean and the layout just about perfect with everything in reach and at places where it should be. Take a room with a balcony for a perfect view over Bergen, while drinking a glass of wine. The only thing I missed in my room was some creamer or milk for my coffee. Oh and I never had a hotel breakfast buffet as good as the one in Hotel Norge. 5* for me

This hotel was recently renovated and the rooms are exceptional. The rooms are spacious, well fitted with amenities. The hotel location just couldn't be any more perfect. It is surrounded by excellent restaurants, closer to the Wharf, Airport Bus drop/pickup, train station. Just too convenient. The rooms were very clean and cleaned everyday. The breakfast at this place is truly exceptional. The restaurant staff both at the breakfast and other times, were just friendly and service oriented. If I have to knit pick, then the front desk staff is tiny bit less than exceptional, because there is always a crowd at the reception desk and one can service only so much. They were still great, but too much activity there. If I ever visit to Bergen, I cannot imagine myself staying anywhere else but this hotel. (May be there are other exceptional places, but I was totally charmed by this place).

Central location, ALL the staff made this stay 1st Class seriously! Everyone very helpful and had cheerful nature. The hotel was was very modern and ultra clean. We used the pool and this was very well presented. The food in the restaurant was superb and he bar waiting staff even made a special drink not on the menu which was delicious. Would definitely stay again.

This is the first time I write a review while still being a guest at the hotel, lets start with the good things. The hotel has an excellent location, nice and newly renovated rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was fine and had good variety as well. However, the upsetting part is that the bad things exceed the good ones. The hotel has a very loud bar/club on the ground floor and plays loud music even on weekdays until late at night, the loud music can be heard in the room. The bed isn’t comfortable, the one I had was used a lot probably and had an inside curve in the middle. The room service menu says that it’s available until 11 pm. However, if you try calling them after 10 pm nobody answers as the kitchen closes at 10 pm but its not written anywhere. They also charge for getting you tap water!! The reception desk, although they say its a 24hours desk, they wouldn’t pick up the phone if you call them after 10 pm. Once I asked for a fork at 10:15 pm the receptionist had to check if room service team would accept as the kitchen had already closed. And had to call the reception twice to get hold of them. The parking garage is operated by a third party, its very small and has probably spaces for 20-25 cars. So most probably it always full, in my case, the hotel staff asked me to go park my car in another public parking garage and walk back to the hotel. The housekeeping team doesn’t clean the room properly, I had hair in the bathroom and the shower drainage is blocked. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, this night is my last and I keep getting disappointed every night. I think the hotel has to offer better services and quality. You even have to greet the receptionist as they would answer by hello rather than “good evening” or “how can we help?” But that’s not important anyways. For the price I paid, I expected much better services from this hotel. I would definitely come back to Bergen, but never to this hotel, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Its not a 5 star hotel according to the global standards. I wouldn’t even give it 4 stars if the staff didn’t help me with my luggage.

  • 5/5 Or M. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent hotel! Good quality rooms and facilities, great breakfast. Would definitely come back here. Prices are not cheap but the quality is worth it. BUT BE WARNED! The hotel has an independent dance bar on the front ground floor and if you're above/near it you will hear the bass music until late at night. In most rooms that's not an issue so just pay attention to that.

Very good hotel in a great location, clean rooms, accommodating staff and an excellent breakfast buffet. I really appreciated the gluten free section in the breakfast buffet & all of the allergen information detailed for each item. The only issue I had was during the refresh of our room some of my toiletry items had been knocked down, even rolled under the bed. Our trash bag was also removed from the bin & left on my luggage without removal. This was only one issue so I did not want to remove a star for it.

Nice hotel, the rooms are modern and clean, has friendly staff, and a good breakfast servive. However for the advertisement of luxury i feel the hotel does not deliver. None of the extra amenities like the minibar, spa or pool is included in the stay despite the room rates being on average higher than elsewhere. In addition, the inclusion of a night club on the street level of the building, really makes staying here on a weekend bothersome. My room was luckily on the 6th floor, and i could still hear the club noise. I dread to think if i was allocated a room on a lower floor. In addition, the TV in my room did not work, and i was unable to get anyone to assist me with this. The Hotel is nice, however given its high rates and advertised luxury experience it fails to deliver in my opinion. 300€ for a room just to have to pay extra for everything else and have loud night clubs keeping one up is just not worth it. You get better value for money by going someplace else.

A good place to hold a conference. A good place to stay for visitors from foreign lands if you are able to afford it. You can find food in the same place. Staffs will arrange for everything you need in case of emergency and normal situations. Only Norwegian food will be served. A stage or a scenery to take a beautiful picture while waiting for getting the rooms to stay.

One of the best breakfast in the world!!! See the pictures! Very good hotel, excellent location in the very city center of Bergen in a walking distance from everything. Clean rooms, comfortable bed and linens. The only thing missed in the rooms -- robes and slippers.

Beautiful Hotel in Bergen. We stayed for 3 Nights in a Grand Balcony Room. The Room was perfect. Every detail well planned and executed, with a spectacular view. The breakfast ist absolutely amazing. Everything is fresh, delicious with an impressive selection of food from around the world. Truly the best Hotel breakfast I ever had. The staff is friendly, accommodating and professional. Great place to stay!

Very nice and stylish hotel. If you’re spending time in bergen, specially in the city center, it’s so recommended. Try to have the breakfast, Scandinavian style, with lots of fresh food and juices. Here you get a fantastic breakfast. On weekend you get longer breakfast. The view of the suits are amazing.

Stayed in a single room which was cosy, very well-heated and had a nice balcony. The housekeepers are good at their job and very friendly. The spa is clean and relaxing and the girls who work there are good- one of them gave me a very nice facial treatment. The gym is great too. The breakfast has so much choice, I enjoyed it everyday. It is refilled so you don't have to worry about getting there early. But the salmon tasted quite cheap and plastic unfortunately, I think they should upgrade the quality of the salmon since tourists expect good quality for fish in Norway. The waitors and chefs were all very welcoming and hard-working.

Beautiful hotel great location to visit Bergen. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had - but extremely busy it was a free for all way too busy to really enjoy it. Little disappointed we needed to pay to use the pool.

Hotel Norge in Bergen exceeded all my expectations for a truly memorable stay. The panoramic views of the surrounding fjords were breathtaking, perfectly complementing the hotel's modern design. The attentive staff went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met. Our room was elegantly furnished and boasted top-notch amenities. The on-site restaurant served delectable local dishes, which paired wonderfully with their impressive wine selection. I couldn't have asked for a better base from which to explore the magical city of Bergen.

Very good location in the heart of city centre, close to all what Bergen has to offer. High room standard and super clean. Staff is friendly and breakfast superb. Also short walking distance to the city line and train station. Price was well justified. The only thing that disappointed me was the swimming pool. Here I was asked to pay 250 NOK / 30 USD for a quick dip. There was no one in the pool. That price is far too lofty and really tells the customers: Yes, we have a pool for marketing purposes. No, we don’t really want you to use it. All in all a very nice experience. I will stay here again, but I will remember it not for the great service but for the pool price.

  • 4/5 A. G. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed at the Norge for 2 nights while visiting from the UK. Location is excellent. Close to the tram station, the train station, and the wharf. The common spaces felt upscale. The included breakfast buffet had lots of options. Our room was not cleaned well prior to our arrival. The surfaces were quite dusty and there was hair and dust balls under the bed. House keeping did clean the room after we spoke to the front desk. We were also sad that the pool and hot tub cost extra to use despite the high cost of the hotel.
