This
hotel
is
basic
in
many
ways:
They
only
run
the
reception
from
0900-21:00,
there's
no
breakfast
or
food
available
on
site,
and
they
only
make
your
bed
for
you
once
a
week.
You're
pretty
much
on
your
own,
but
most
seasoned
travellers
won't
need
much
support
anyway.
There's
a
reason
why
there's
an
earplug
dispenser
in
reception
and
more
earplugs
waiting
for
you
in
the
room
-
The
nightclub
below
can
be
heard
but
it's
not
too
bad.
If
you
have
a
room
above
the
third
floor,
you
should
be
fine.
Having
said
that,
the
rooms
are
actually
quite
big,
stylishly
decorated
and
very
clean.
The
bathrooms
are
larger
than
other
hotels
in
the
area
I've
been
in,
and
there's
a
kettle
and
mini-fridge
in
the
room
so
you
can
make
coffee
and
keep
a
couple
of
croissants
for
the
morning.
The
hotel
is
in
an
excellent
location
in
Bergen,
central
but
on
the
edge
of
the
Academic
Quarter,
which
is
a
mixture
of
student
bars,
cinemas
and
other
old
cultural
buildings.
Take
some
time
to
look
above
the
street
level
at
the
old
architecture
and
the
scenery
surrounding
the
city.
Try
to
get
there
before
19:00
in
the
evening
when
they
shut
the
reception,
so
you
can
collect
your
keycards
and
ask
any
questions.
The
staff
they
do
have
were
helpful
when
they
were
there.
If
you
turn
up
late,
they'll
email/text
you
instructions
on
collecting
your
keycards
from
a
little
safe
in
reception.
They
also
have
an
out-of-hours
telephone
number
and
security.
I
stayed
here
on
several
occasions
in
October
2013.
I
would
certainly
stay
here
again.
