I strongly recommend this hotel if you visit Bergen. We upgraded to a second night as we enjoyed Bergen. Hotel accommoded it without issue. Nice lobby with many comfy lounge chairs. Also a restaurant and nice bar. Staff in the restaurant and at the reception were kind, helpful spoke very good English. The hotel was clean and so were the rooms. Small room, but very modern and cozy. This hotel is literally steps, as you exit the train station. When you leave your train, use the right exit from the train station. As you walk out of the station, you'll be able to see it. Won't even get wet if it's raining! This hotel is also within perfect walking distance to the main areas to go and check out/visit. You'll not regret this location/hotel. Safe and happy travels, everyone!

The hotel is located in an excellent location close to the train station and in the city center. Around the hotel are many shops. The staff at the reception are very nice. The rooms are clean and the decor is nice. However, the window of the room overlooks the building service area, and this is a very strange thing, and you may see it in the accompanying pictures of the evaluation. The big problem for me is that I can't control the room temperature.

Rooms are less than minimalist. Bed is not comfortable - 2 smaller-than-twin beds pushed together. No clothing storage. Breakfast lacked variety. Terrible view of other side of the hotel. Huge window- no view.

Check-in: didn’t feel very welcome, staff not very friendly. Room: not worth the money, seriously. Too expensive for a (very very) warm room on inside, noisy. Also at 6AM a repeating noise disturbed. Later found out it was the cleaning of the station (high pressure machine) that made the loud repetitive sound. Hoped to have a good night sleep before ferry to Denmark but it was the worst night of my 5 weeks in Norway. Never again to this place. Oh, breakfast is nice but not when you have a gluten and and lactose intolerance. Location is brilliant though. Reception should have explained also that the airco-unit where you adjust temperature was hidden behind the ‘do not disturb’-label. Only found out there was a unit just before we left when I took my jacket from coat rack🤬.

A modern hotel next to the train station and not far from the city center. Our room had a good bed and a great shower. The breakfast buffet is good. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The room was very hot and we had to open a window during the night to keep it cool enough. Rooms are only cleaned once every 3 days.

The breakfast was amazing, so many options and service people were attentive. The front desk was courteous and rooms were meticulously cleaned. The bonus was the architecture. What was most underrated? The blackout curtains!! The nights are incredibly short in the summers and the Norwegians are so used to it that all the rooms are bright or super bright. Zander K is the exception! I was so disappointed when I thought I had woken up and it was still dark outside. Assumed it was 3 am. Turns out it was 7:30 AM. Trust me when I tell you that is a rare for jet lagged tourists visiting Norway in the summer.

Good hotel for a city trip next to Bergen railway station. Rooms at the back quite noisy due to road traffic outside. Comfortable bed and shower. No tea making facilities in the room but free coffee/tea in lobby. Breakfast is decent. In weekends expect large crowds gathering for cruise ships.

We overall enjoed our stay at Zander K: it was both super central, well connected and quiet! The whole reception, restaurant/breakfast and waiting area is very lovely and welcoming. The rooms have some fantastic pieces of design and are also very clean. Overall very good value for money! Our room view was quite unfortunate - a concrete backyard and a view to apartments, but we also got one of the cheapest rooms, so nothing too surprising!

I had trouble sleeping due to the ambient noise level, hum of the ventilation system, etc. If you are very sensitive to sounds like me, try a different hotel. Otherwise it seemed nice, friendly staff, good shower although mounted so high up I could barely reach it standing on my toes. no fridge in the room. extremely dry air, relative humidity 17-20%. can't comment on the breakfast as I elected to stay longer in bed before heading out instead.

Hotel had an issue with warm water upon arrival. Well communicated by receptionist at check-in, and got promised it would be fixed in the early morning. This was indeed the case. Good effort in making the best out of an issue that can happen anywhere. 👍

Clean, modern design with an artistical touch in many corners. Italian furniture in the lobby, wooden design the rooms, Fitjar Islands products in the bath room and shower. For that price, there is a lot you get. The breakfast has a big selection, people are friendly and helpful. Hotel location is very good. We stayed for a week there and did not miss a thing. I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed here for 4 nights as part of the Norway in @Nutshell tour. The room is nice. Very quiet. The horrible thing about this hotel is the lack of a telephone in the room. Other than that it is okay. The receptionistis helpful.

Good location next to central train station and tram line connecting to the airport. Room is clean and comfortable. Desk is small for laptop usage. Good breakfast selection.

We had a good time at this hotel. Room was clean, receptionist was nice & helpful. Breakfast was really good with fresh food & fruit. The location is next to Bergen Station, very conveninet for taking train to other destinations

Pros - Great location and quick check in. Bathroom floors are heated and blackout curtains were good. Cons - Receptionist at the hotel did not look very friendly and gave us wrong instructions for drinking rules in Norway. It would be good if they are better trained.

Lovely clean and modern room which was more spacious than I expected for a scandi hotel. One of the best buffets I've had in a European hotel (plentiful and varied though, as mentioned by a few other reviewers, the seating during peak time can be a little chaotic) and one of few European hotels I've come across to provide separate bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Only have good things to say and would stay again.

Great location, short walking distance to the train station, light rail and shopping. Close to the fisherman's wharf and historic areas. The Funicular is very close for exquisite views of Bergen.

Very convenient hotel, located right beside the train station at Bergen (2 mins walk) 10 mins walk to main area of Bergen's wharf/Floibanen. Bathroom was nice and clean as well. Love the hotel breakfast, we look forward to delicious and fresh food every morning.

Sleeping is my priority in a hotel, but it was way too hot in the rooms. Complaining did not help. After the first night, I kept the windows open all day with -1 and even at night, but still it was like 25 degrees. Airco was on 19, but did not reach this temperature. Kept me awake all of the nights. 🥺 Location is good, quiet hotel and good breakfast. Shower not really conventient.

Nice rooms, quiet, everything as expected. Breakfast very very good, very fresh, great assortment. Hotel very centrally located. Will revisit

Practical modern hotel near the train station. Rooms are compact but well kept (no minibar though). There is no housekeeping during a stay, which didn't affect me since I only stayed one night. However I saw guests with trash outside their room doors which was not nice. Good breakfast and very helpful front desk staff.

My recent stay at this hotel had its ups and downs. On the positive side, the hotel's location was undeniably convenient. It's situated right next to both the train station and tram station, making it easy to access public transportation. Additionally, it was just a short walk to the town center, which was quite convenient for exploring the city. However, there were some significant drawbacks. My room, while reasonably comfortable, was disappointingly dry and dark. The lack of adequate lighting made it challenging to work or read comfortably in the room, and the dry atmosphere left me feeling a bit uncomfortable throughout my stay. To make matters worse, I encountered some maintenance issues during my visit. The toilet in my room was clogged, which was not a pleasant experience. It took a while for the hotel staff to resolve the issue, and it was an inconvenience. On a more positive note, the breakfast offered by the hotel was decent. While it didn't stand out as extraordinary, it provided a satisfactory start to the day with a variety of options to choose from. In conclusion, this hotel's proximity to the train and tram stations and its convenient location near the town center are definite advantages. However, the room's dry and dark atmosphere, coupled with maintenance issues like the clogged toilet, left me with mixed feelings about my stay. The breakfast helped improve the overall experience, but improvements in room lighting and maintenance are necessary for a more comfortable stay.

Small but well appointed rooms. Nice bathroom (with real door) 😉 Very good location for train station! Really tasty breakfast with good selection 👌🏼

Nice and clean hotel room with heated bathroom floors! Free umbrellas from the hotel front desk are easily available too. Good range of breakfast foods but recommend going early as the it gets very busy after 9am.

Perfect, modern hotel next to the train station. Rooms are small, but perfect for two people. Bathrooms and toiletries are nice. Breakfast is excellent with all sort of fish, baked goods, and a wide array of other options.

Very good breakfast and plenty of choices. Room is a bit small but has everything you need. TV, plenty of wall plugs, hairdryer... No parking available and the nearest one is a public parking that ain't cheap. Wifi available on the premise and it's pretty decent.

Excellent hotel that is well located for all you need in Bergen. Right by the railway station and minutes to the bus terminal. Very central and a short and picturesque walk in to centre. Plenty of shops/restaurants nearby for any required supplies. My room was right in front of the hotel, so if there was any noise, it was not heard in the room. Clean modern decor and attentive staff.

Does what it says on the tin. Great if you are planning on using railways - and not too far to walk to the town centre and lots of great visitor sites

Good location, big rooms (for Bergen), lovely lobby, nice staff. The rooms interior is supposed to be industrial-style(?), but feels unfinished, I think these concrete ceilings are too pretentious... and rooms are not too practical - one tiny table, one chair, no closets nor other storage. Dinner was nicely served, but the soup was blandish and the meat was very tough and chewy, tables were rocking while guests cut the meat. Breakfast is good. Overall it is great for a night or two, just have your meals somewhere else.

Loved the breakfast. But the crowd was too big on Saturday. Why don't they implement a schedule if the breakfast place isn't that big? The room we got was not with the best view, into the street stairs.

Right next to the station, close to the mall and yet nearby the city center. The rooms are nice and a fitness is present. It's a shame that only 1 of the 2 Running machines is plugged in, so no 2 People can run at the same time. But overall there is enough equipment present. The breakfast is delicious with a great range of options.

Helpful staff, comfortable bed. The heated bathroom floor was wonderful after walking in the rain. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Didn't get to explore as much as I wanted due to rain - bring a raincoat & waterproof shoes - but the walk to the wharf wasn't long.

Loved this hotel in Bergen! Great low-lit atmosphere and ambience. Rooms were a unique decorative style - maybe not to all tastes - but it was warm and the bed and bathroom were wonderful. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had anywhere in Scandinavia at all. So much variety and all great quality. Even milk that was cold! One big bonus: free coffee and tea 24/7 for guests in the lobby area. Other hotels take note! Only a 4 because the wifi wasn’t reliable.

Good location for train. View from room was just in front of another window. No coffee or no tea or no biscuits. Beds are soft and had a good sleep. Ceiling of room looked not finished. Room was small and clean. 5min walk to city center

Modern hotel, we requested a room change which was met as our original room allocated was next to the lift. Good breakfast. We did not eat dinner at the hotel. Good sized room and adequate size bathroom. Reception staff friendly and professional

Great stay. Beautiful, elegant and streamlined rooms. The restaurant at the lobby is also very nice, with a good menu (but a somehow uneven service). The situation is great and the personnel is very welcoming and helpful.

Great location next to train station and bus station. Rooms are small but that seems common in most of the hotels we stayed at in Norway. Breakfast is fantastic, staff are brilliant.

  • 4/5 Robyn G. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed here for three nights. We had booked a triple room but paid extra for a junior suite after our first night as triple room is small in our opinion and was located next to the lifts. (Apparently all triple rooms are so bear that in mind when booking it). The Junior suite was miles better and very good size with table and chairs and double sofabed, with a coffee machine and fridge. The breakfast was very good and the location was perfect for us. Staff were very helpful and helped us with the parking. We parked where they recommend and provide discount. Highly recommend.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were VERY small, with no storage space to speak of (no dressers and very little floor space). With outdoor temperatures in the low 20s (C), the room was oppressively hot; the fan kindly provided by staff wasn’t very effective at getting any air moving.

  • 5/5 Mayur P. 1 year ago on Google
Great hotel next to train station. Rooms were small but per the norm for European countries and good enough for two people. Breakfast could be more vegetarian/vegan friendly but we were able to find some options. Location is very hard to beat. It’s in such a great spot next to the train station

  • 4/5 Christopher W. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed two nights and I thought the service was adequate. The heated bathroom floors were a nice touch. The issue I have was the food quality and prices. I understand that the prices for the food would be high, but they are not congruent with the food quality. Even the coffee in the lobby was gross.

Great location in Bergen, just 5 minutes walking to the centre. Great breakfast too. Big rooms but they do not clean them until 3rd day, individual blankets were not the best option for a couple.
