This is a really a classic hotel recently restored from an old stock exchange building. As an iconic hotel in the city we enjoyed the central location in Bergen across from the Fish Market. Front desk staff was super helpful and friendly. We rented a junior suite which was good sized, nice decor and had most amenities with a view of the town. We loved the Fresco restaurant with However, for the price we paid, we feel the hotel lacked a bit of attention to detail vs other hotels in it class which was a bit disappointing. It was missing a kettle and creamer etc for the in room tea service. The bed was a bit smaller than anticipated and mattress was bit soft vs other boutique hotels in its class. The hotel, while central, is close to lot of bars and pubs which have live music. So unless you are participating at these venues, at least on the weekends the noise can go into past midnight. Since it was recently renovated, I was expecting multiple USB outlets, like it is standard for others in its class, but these did not exist. All in all a good stay but a disappointing on details.

This Bergen hotel truly offers the best value for money. The rooms were spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable, making it easy to feel at home. Coupled with the attentive staff and excellent location, this hotel exceeded all expectations. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here while in Bergen!

This struck my husband and I as the type of place that started to be renovated as quality but then appeared to have had to reduce costs. Our rooms view was to the inside and our view was of the ventilation system. All inside rooms had a view of each other but no beautiful Courtyard. You looked out upon roofs and ventilation systems. The beds were comfortable. We had no easy space for suitcases. The Amoire did not fit into the space where it was placed and constricted the moving area to get to the bathroom. The floor switch for the lighting did not reach the floor causing you to bend over to turn the light on and off. Given the age of the people it seems that customized furniture would have improved the use of space in the rooms. However, we do understand that may have been cost prohibitive. Overall, the rooms were clean and quiet and served the purpose for bathing, resting, and sleeping. The hotel was set up to environment regulations which means you won’t have access to a frigid room. The refrigerator was well stocked and you paid for items you consumed during your visit. The buffet breakfast was nice and located in a gorgeous area that used to be the stock exchange with beautiful wall murals. Servers were cordial. Location was very convenient. We would stay here again.

Located in the heart Bergen, easy walking distance to the shopping district, the cable car (Fløibanen funicular) and of course the frescoes dining hall which serves a very good breakfast buffet. Rooms are modern and clean. There's a very good restaurant that need to book well ahead of time.

Good quality hotel with great staff. Limited facilities open as we visited over the Christmas break . Food and service excellent. Rooms not huge but sufficient. Location excellent. Easy walking distance to restaurant coffee shops and bars .

Not worth the price! :( I'll start from positives about this place. Great location! Very close to the harbour and old part of the town. Building itself is historic and have good restaurants. Reception 24/7 but you'd expect this in 4star hotel. Unfortunately, I'd wouldn't return to this hotel. Rooms are nicely design but bed is very uncomfortable, they have two separate single duvets which is quite heavy and easily slides down which woke me up throughout the night. Pillows soft and don't support neck/head which caused me being in pain all stay. I think they use a special collection of soap and body lotions but it's just not my taste of scent so I didn't enjoy it. The biggest problem is with ventilation, room doesn't heat up. Which of course you get the electric heater which is hard to regulate during the night. Set up of the hotel is also weird. It took us ages to get walk to our room and I really didn't enjoy it. There should be better design inside. I don't want to walk miles to get out of the hotel. Overall I wouldn't give it 4stars. There's not even a bottle of water complimentary in the room. Yes towels are provided and fridge with things to buy but that's it. Room service available. No extras though. No special touches. We booked to room looking forward to breakfasts too. But they were not spectacular either. Hot section - quite cold. Cold section had a nice selections. Chia seeds pot was a winner! Coffee wasn't nice unfortunately and also quickly cold.

We loved this hotel and would like to come back one day. The location is fantastic and close to the harbor/pier as well as the light rail to the airport and the Bergen train station. It's very walkable. The room was very nice and clean. Breakfast offered a ton of options. The staff was very helpful and kind. They were even able to get us a reservation same day on Valentine's Day at a restaurant on the water.

Very nice hotel in the city center of Bergen. Close to everything you need to see. No more than 10 minutes and you are everywhere. Historical and fascinating building with modern and clean room. Nice view from the room. The Fresco Hallen for drink or breakfast is a speechless place.

Just perfect 👌 These guys really know how to do their job right in every aspect. The rooms are specious, stylish and clean ✨The location bang in the city center 🎯 The hotel bar is not just a bar but a spectacular former church with a wide choice of creative cocktails 🍸 They even have a Michelin star 💫 restaurant inside the hotel, as well as a pub with comedy nights and a nightclub 👯 Also a plus: it's a family business, not a huge international hotel chain.

We stayed 3-5 April 2023. It was a short stay. When we checked in, we asked what time breakfast was served. We were told 7am onwards. Great! As we have a train to catch the next day for a tour. But next day came, breakfast was not ready until one hour after the time mentioned. We really just wanted to grab a bite before we go on a long day of fjord tour. The restaurant staff were nice to let us grab what was available (they were setting up) and served us juice and coffee. Just thought the communication could be improved. If breakfast was not available, we would have went out and get some. I guess it's really about managing your guests' expectations. But they were very nice to pack some breakfast for us to go as we had a 6am flight on the day we check out. They gave us a bag with some fruits, nuts, muffin. That was nice. Nonetheless, it's a nice hotel with very good location and very beautiful interior. The breakfast spread looks nice too but we didn't get to try it.

The dining room for breakfast has beautiful frescoes that must be 8 meters high. See photos. The breakfast has a nice selection and is well done. Service is attentive. Shower in room was very nice. Windows don’t open much for letting in cooler air on sunny hot days. Front desk was helpful. Location is fantastic ! We will come back.

Very cute hotel. We stayed in the loft. Great room, bed upstairs was comfortable but tight to walk around it. No electrical sockets next to bed so u cant charge ur devices. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. They have a very good restaurant for dinner which the hotel staff failed to tell us about.

Staying at this hotel is a noise lottery. They have not soundproofed the room from outside noises, and so many rooms face the streets or public square. So it was noisy until 2-3am in the morning, unable to sleep. The rest of the hotel is good. Rooms, breakfast, etc. The location is perfect. But a noisy room and a bad nights sleep, that's the basics. Unfortunately, they were full that night, so we couldn't move rooms. Reception was proactive to offer a move the following night, to a room facing the inner courtyard. Which was much more quieter. So the second night was at least good. When we complained, it looks like there is no management to speak to. No manager on duty on the weekend. On weekdays, not available at 10am, nor at 3:45pm. Reception also won't take down our phone number to pass to the manager, only gave us the general email address for the hotel, to email in. For a hotel at this end of the quality scale, the lack of managerial service is shocking. And for a hotel in the middle of the city, the lack of soundproofing is shocking. Unless you can guarantee an inner courtyard room when booking, I would not recommend this hotel. Also, as I can see they have alot of cruise guests staying, I can see why management don't really care about individual guest bookings and their satisfaction. If you want to play sleep lottery, or can sleep like the dead at night, book here. Otherwise, there are many other choices in Bergen.

Lovely hotel, very comfortable and central in Bergen. We had a Loft Room for 3 people, and my only comment would be the lack of hanging space and places to put our suitcases. Other than that, a wonderful stay. Great staff, delicious breakfast, we were very happy here!

This centrally located hotel in Bergen exceeded all our expectations. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, with stunning views of the city. The staff was friendly, helpful, and truly made our stay enjoyable. Its location provided easy access to all Bergen's attractions. We can't wait to return!

Beautiful hotel right near the harbor in Bergen. The rooms are beautiful and Norwegian style, but very small. The restaurant is amazing! Delicious food and wonderful service. You can pretty much walk to anywhere from this hotel.

Best location in all of Bergen to be staying! Lovely rooms, really modern and spacious. Helpful concierge. Only downside was couldn’t control the temperature of our room so it was very warm some nights. But overall would really recommend this hotel!

Well located, delicious breakfast (in a lovely setting), and particularly helpful front desk staff. We enjoyed our stay for a quick stop in Bergen before heading north!

The hotel is in a very central location and very nice. The staff at the front desk is absolutely amazing. I had left my passport in a hotel in another city and the staff here were the most helpful hotel staff I have ever experienced. They helped us call the hotels and even helped schedule a DHL shipment to get my passport back to me. Anything we asked about or asked for they were more than happy to assist with. I am forever grateful for them.

Bergen Børs is an absolutely fantastic hotel. We have stayed here twice now, and the first visit made us want to return. The rooms are beautiful, large and luxurious. The new large restaurant offered fantastically good breakfast and service-minded staff. I give top marks. We will definitely be back.

One of my favourite places to stay right in the very centre of Bergen. Quiet, nice, well designed, fancy breakfast, friendly staff and really close to all the tourist attractions and other things. Dozens of stores, bars & restaurants are just there around the corner.

Very courteous and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and spacious . The breakfast spread is good and the dining area is lovely. A very old hotel with a lot of history. One has to climb a few stairs to reach some rooms, so , lifting heavy luggage may become a problem. Overall a beautiful place, centrally located and walking distance from many places to visit. Would strongly recommend this to everyone

The staff, the comfort, the quality, the breakfast - all were top notch. Since this was our first time in Norway we had many questions. The staff was most accommodating. The amenities are second to none. We felt pampered. This was the BEST international hotel we have ever stayed in.

Loved this hotel! Gorgeous - our room was adorable, the staff was amazing (we watched them deal with some fairly demanding people and they were incredibly gracious and patient), the breakfast was top shelf. The gym was clean and had the basics. The location is great - walkable to everything. Loved it and highly recommend.

The hotel is in the best location. Close to everything. Breakfast was good. Service definitely has room for improvement. No one offered to help with bags and I had to carry them up MANY steps outside and inside of the hotel. The room would have been much better if the lighting wasn't so terrible. Other than that I would recommend just for the location alone. Service: 6/10 Room: 7/10 Location: 10/10 Breakfast:7/10

Great hotel and service. Location is very central to all attractions. Best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. The dining room has to be one of the most spectacular in Europe. Special shout out to Delia for amazing service in the new restaurant.

Great design hotel right in the center of Bergen with all of sights and shops on walking distance. Even if you do not stay in the hotel check out the lobby bar and the ceilings. The staff ia very nice and helpful. Also great place to have a drink, either in lobby, in nightclub or in the basement

Great location in the heart of the city. This was part of a whistle stop tour of Norway. We stayed in Bergen for 2 nights. The location was perfect, a short walk from the train station, and the trains are clean and efficient. Close to restaurants and bars the hotel is in a great place. Friendly and helpful staff who helped in every way. I wanted to do some work, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and they showed me to a conference room that wasn't being used, with free coffee.

The housekeepers cleaned my room very well and the bed was very comfortable. I never felt cold because the room is heated so well. I really like that they use wool blankets on the bed. Good choice of snacks in the room mini-bar. The breakfast tastes great and the breakfast room is beautiful and relaxing. The manager and the people who work on reception were all very nice to me. I had dinner in the Frescohallen restaurant and the quality was very good. The location is easy to get to from the airport and central

We had an amazing experience at this hotel. The staff and front desk were very supportive, open and cooperative throughout our whole stay. We celebrated birthday during our stay and the staff made everything possible for us to simply enjoy our time in Bergen. We even got an upgrade after we weren’t satisfied with our initial room. The restaurant is fabulous, food is delicious, breakfast is top notch and the staff at the restaurant is very friendly and helpful. One small downside was that the pillows were too firm for us and it took us a bit of time to get used to get some decent sleep. As for the location and the exterior, the building is very impressive as well, so much of the history is preserved and it's also felt when you understand the heritage around this area of Bergen. We can’t wait to come back!
