I enjoyed my stay, Reached very late than expected but the room was still reserved here. Check in is done via a machine kept in the lobby itself and you can get the keys. This place is a bit costly but you get all the relaxing you need. Breakfast can be bought separately in the morning. Parking here is paid and car has to be parked at a near but different location. Staff is very helpful and polite and you can mail them in case of any queries.

Easy check-in. Great location and super easy to get to the airport or city. Lovely room with everything that you might need for a good night sleep. Attention to detail! Love the many charging points in the room too!

It's ok. Easy check in and reasonable price. Good location, easy to get to the centre, supermarket nearby. The room is very basic, just a bed, table, mirror and a bathroom. I cut my leg on the room floor, it looked like there were very small parts of broken glass that were not completely removed during cleaning. The coffee machine in the lobby was out of service.

Hotel is fine for a short or business stay. We got a room for disabled which in the end disabled us more. View from the 1st floor was horrible on a construction site. No cleaning service within 3 days. Surrounding area is ugly. Jaja restaurant & the common area with fridge/microwave/vending machine inside the hotel is pretty good though. Ironing and washing machines on the 1st floor available. Only 3 hangers in the room is not enough. Sometimes it’s the little things. Would stay somewhere else next time.

Beautiful kitchen / living room area with an almost Hostel-like feel, as there are always some young people you can meet here. Limited options to cook for yourself (only a water heater, microwave, plates and cutlery), which is to be expected from a hotel.

Worst hotel I ever stayed. The only small windows inside the room can’t be open. The room was so hot after a full day of sun exposure. And the host said some rooms just can’t open the window. I feel suffocated staying in such a room without open window or AC during the summer. The host is not helpful at all. I should have stayed in Moxy with similar prices but much better amenity.

Nice concept of self check-in and check-out. Room was clean, beds were comfy and water pressure was good enough. Every time I've passed the lobby there was at least one staff personell around. You can easily get to the hotel with the light rail from center/station (it's the stop after Florida). Alternatively, you can just walk; takes around 12-15 minutes. No biggie, but the vending machine for coffee was broken all three days I've spent there. I was also quite impressed with the simplicity of the check-out process, where I only had to enter the room number and nothing else. Does that mean that one could (in theory) randomly check-out other guests by entering their room number?

Compared to the price this place was very good. The room was nice and had "hard" floor or something plastic or something. It was ok. Floors and cleaning overall could be better but even for me who's extra when it comes to cleaning it was ok. Our rooms sink was extra small for some reason and didn't work very well as the water didn't flush easily down. Nice bonus for a hook for the rug on the bedding. Otherwise common area was nice and we liked the idea of being able to make our own snacks and meals in the kitchen area. Easy to check in and check out experience. Location was a bit weird but we found it quite easily and close was a car parking hall. It was about 10min drive with a scoot to the center.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. There’s a common place with a sink, boiler, microwave, fridge, …, so you can eat your own food. It’s quite close to the city centre (20mn by walk). We had a wonderful 2-night stay!

Beautiful modern and clean rooms, but the shower has no curtain so the entire bathroom will get wet. There are washing machines and dryers for 50 NOK per use. There's also a communal area with seats and a small kitchen (microwave, kettle, sink). The communal fridge can be used by guest and is clean. Each item has to be labeled by room number and departure date. A little far from the city center but there are two supermarkets and a second hand shop just around the corner.

Had to book this in a rush after checking out of our first hotel! It was very clean. Basic - No TVs etc in rooms, but that's ok as there's plenty other things to do in Bergen!. The location was quite noisy at times. Glass emptying each night about 10pm so be warned if you have young children trying to sleep. Supermarket opposite useful. Car parks nearby. Just quite busy location. Coffee machine downstairs. Staff all friendly and helpful. We had a hire car so getting around and staying here was easy enough, but it is slightly outside the city centre.

The staff was nice and helpful. The room quiet clean and the beds were comfortable. The rooms were very minimalistic,/ no designs. The bathroom was big but there was no separation between the toilets and shower so it wasn't very convenient. Breakfast which is in the hotel but not part of the hotel services (we paid separately) was only mediocre

Nice comfy and cozy rooms. The rooms are a bit small in size but that's fine if you just want a good night's sleep. It has a self check in and check out facility which is very smooth. Though the concierge is available at the property for any assistance but otherwise staff is thin. That's why daily room service is not available. The location is not bad either as it is just 8 mins from the city center by tram 1. Excellent for backpackers.

Good stay and good value. The rooms are very modest but clean with comfy beds and good facilities. Supermarket and tram are close by and even walking to Bergen center is only 25 minutes.

Nice Hotel, the room was small but had everything you needed for a few days. The bed was very comfortable and you nearly didn’t hear the very busy streets when the windows are closed. The city centre as well as the airport are easy to reach via the bybanen. Breakfast is not included but there is a supermarket nearby and it’s even open on sundays, so you can get everything you want. They also offer the option to buy breakfast buffet at the restaurant JAJA (access through the lobby). I didn’t have to talk to a human being at all throughout my stay, but if you need something there is always someone available for asking questions. If I come to Bergen again, I would definitely consider staying at Citybox again.

Good quick check-in. Kind personel. Breakfast could be little more diversificated - some sweet cake or cookies would be nice to serve. Overall my rating is 5 stars. Great place for short stay.

Super techy, amazing self counter check in that is smart and easy to use, staff friendly, modern shared space with kitchen, automated machines and chill area. Wonderful restaurant connected to property which is great. No frills but still modern and comfortable Downside don’t expect basic room facilities like mini fridge, safe box, counter, wardrobe, kettle, etc. this is a shared concept. Shared fridge is very accessible to anyone so you cannot guarantee safety. End of the day depends what type of traveller you are

Everything was great, actually pretty awesome, but unfortunately not perfect. The room was comfy, although small, and the bathroom was equipped with everything needed. One thing of note that we didn't point out to the concierge because it wasn't such a big deal for us: the body wash/shampoo distributor in the shower was completely empty. Weirdly, we only had one set of towels although there were two of us (but we could just get more downstairs so no reason to fuss over it). Position is great, immediately close to the main tram line so moving around was quick and easy View also was absolutely great (even if that also means the view others had into our room was just as great). Our room was silent even with traffic around, and never was cold. Biggest negative we have to say absolutely the uncomfortable bed. Mattress was thin and our backs hurt a bit in the morning, not the best sleep ever.

Pros Extremely comfy bed! Good management. The space a bit tiny but reasonable. Very convenient to travel directly to the airport. I love that there is a common space to have some meal and hang out. And the hotel is so clean. Miss the bed so much. Cons Bathroom floor is a bit easily to get wet and messy. The strap under the shower window is missing one side. I have to place the towel to block the water

very pleased with my stay. overall i have nothing negative to say, it was all pleasant (: clean, comfortable beds, practical location, size of the room was great, decent size on the bathroom, lovely and great staff, so it was all worth the prize 🙏🏽 most definitely will be back

The room was cozy, compact, especially clean. Nothing more was needed. The bed was very comfy. The check in and check out were simple and fast. The view was awesome :)

Exceptionally clean rooms. Easy self check in/out. Even having a room directly above a street, the windows cancel out pretty much all sounds from the outside.

Overall, we are very happy with our stay. Only problem was that it seems to me that the staff was not very familiar with Norway in a Nutshell luggage transfer. He could only provide limited information we need. It would be much helpful if the hotel staff could give us all information we needed for luggage transfer. That way could eliminate any worry or concern we had.

The room is what you pay for and has a bed and shower. While it has heated floors, it doesn’t have AC although there’s a thermostat as if it does. I went out for the day thinking the room will be cool when I get back to find the room was still hot. I thought this might be because I had to leave with the card and everything shuts off. No. Was profusely sweating in the middle of the night and the round the clock service is a joke. 2/10 it has a bed and shower

Easy to get to the hotel from the airport, 2 minute walk from the Danmarksplass stop. Guests are able to rent a powerbank and an umbrella. 25 minute walk to the city centre. 💯 recommend! 👍

Nice place, price is unbeatable this close to the city. Paid parking available close by. The city is quite the walk away but absolutely doable. Clean rooms, good soundproofing and although there's no hotel breakfast they've paired up with a restaurant on the first floor that also serves dinner later in the day. For the price and what it is, I had a pleasant stay!

All in all considered pretty good, near supermarkets, easy access to and from the light rail, basic amenities, good internet speed inside the room, common area to have some simple meals (toaster, microwave, water boiler, vending machine, common fridge better mark your food down clearly) and then they also go a bit further with some rentals: power bank, umbrella. A desktop PC, taxi call device and a small device for Q&A. Check in/out was relatively easy. Water pressure was good, bathroom floors are even heated. The only drawback for us is the windows are shut completely in such the air is stuffy, no good circulation of fresh air for good night sleep (beds & pillows are comfy). I saw one room slept in with their doors wide open.

Practical room, also pretty big and very clean. In Citybox hotels you do your own contactless check-in, which went very smoothly. There is a small common area where you can watch TV or make and eat some food. Here you can also make some tea or coffee. There is also a vending machine in this area with some drinks and snacks, but it wasn't working when we were here.

I loved the concept of the hotel. The price was very good for Norwegian standard. The room was big and the mattress confortable. The only reason why I don’t give all stars is because the curtain didn’t cover all, so in the morning was a lot of light from very early (this was in spring, so sun rises early.

Especially prepared for the budget traveler. A communal kitchen as the old-school hostel but modern and very nicely designed. Rooms are small but still nice. There are better located hotels but are more expensive.

The hotel itself was nice, well furnished, it had everything you need for a short stay. The room was clean and cozy enough. The bathroom could have been a tiny bit bigger since you need to sit kind of bending towards one side because the sink doesn't allow you to sit straight. The staff was friendly. Common utilities are practical and well maintained. The only thing I wasn't totally happy about was the pillows. None of the four pillows we had was comfortable for me. Overall a very nice experience.

It is 4 or 5 tram stations outside the city centre, which you have to pay 40 dkk to take the tram one way - this added up 640 dkk for our stay. When it is cold/rainy you really don't want to walk, so consider paying a bit more for the hotel and stay within the city centre if you have only 3-4 days. All fjord tours start from city centre. Hotel otherwise is fine, very close to the tram station (Denmarkplass) and clean. No room cleaning unless you organise in advance. Breakfast at JaJa is so so. I like the contactless checkin/out was cool!

Nice little chain of hotels. Self check-in and check-out. No TV but very good WiFi to make up for that. Staff were very helpful. I stayed 2 nights and would again.

  • 3/5 A A. 9 months ago on Google
The hotel is located outside the city center, but it is only a 5-minute walk from various bus stations to the city center and central bus as well as a tram that goes directly to the airport. Each trip to downtown costs 40 Krone, which can add up to a significant amount. This should be taken into consideration when comparing it to hotels around the central station, which is a 14-minute walk from the city center. Single rooms are quite small and face a nearby building. They are basic and lack amenities such as a closet and TV. Their price is high. On the other hand, the common area, which includes a fridge, microwave, sink, and vending machines, is convenient and well-equipped. The bar and restaurant are also good and nice. Recommended if not important to be around the centehowever for a short visit trip a hotel in the center will be more convenient. Price is a bit high compared to the quality.

Hostel vibe at hotel price - decent for one night. 👍 Easy check in 👎 It’s a bit too impersonal for a hotel - if I wanted that I would’ve booked and Airbnb 😅 there was no “service” feeling. When asked by booking to rate the staff, my question was “what staff…?” I’ve seen some around but did not have interaction with them. The parking situation is meh. The parking lot suggested by the hotel was not far, but not close. Had to prepare a small bag with the things we needed for the night, so we wouldn’t have to drag all our stuff on the hill.

I have stayed at both citybox Oslo and Bergen, and i must say that both stays were great and i felt very comfortable in both!! The roomis clean and has all what you need. The hotel also offers a self service laundry which was great especially drying wet clothes from rainy Bergen!! Jaja the restaurant downstairs serves a whole range of asian ish street food which is Amazing!!!! Must try! Walk to downtown is nearly 25 mins ish which is nice and easy from the hotel There is a button to request for human assistance. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a taxi ordering desk which also was helpful as i had to fly out at 2 am! All in all, i highly recommend as it is sure value for money!!!

Very easy to check-in/check-out any time. Reasonable price. Great location and quit quite. View to the mountain. Friendly staff. Kitchen at the first floor with fridge, microwave and kettle. Tasty water 💧 Comfortable bed. 30 minutes to the historical center. You can go different ways, one of them through the park which is very nice. Shop near the hotel. Very tasty breakfast in the restaurant downstairs.

I really have nothing to complain about! This place is great! I really enjoyed my stay here. The room prices are really fair and you get some great value out of it. The rooms are extremely calm, always clean and contain all necessities. I really liked the design and the furniture as well! Also they have free shampoo and soap in the room, so that‘s a great plus if you want to travel light. Both, the self-checkin as well as the self-checkout worked flawlessly. And if there was a problem, staff was ready to help. What I find most convenient is the really great access to the bybanen tram. You just cross the road and you are at the danmarksplass station. If you are coming from the airport there is no way you could miss it. And I want to add literally everybody from the staff is incredibly friendly and up for a chat. Whether it be people from housekeeping, receptionists, general workers or people at the restaurant. Easy-going, friendly and welcoming. I can recommend this place!

A place somewhere in between hotel and hostel, which I like a lot. The rooms are private but not very decorative. There’s a kitchen in the common area which we can use for meals, and there're two supermarkets nearby. Also, access to the city center is easy - just around 10-minutes ride with the light rail whose stop is located across the street.

Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and very close to centre. Its just maximum 2-3kms walk to centre. Room was big and comfortable. They have got a shared kitchen and buffet breakfast. Downstairs there is also an Indian restaurant.

  • 5/5 Aga W. 4 years ago on Google
Value for Money. Specious and comfortable rooms, clean bathroom. No room cleaning during stay, if you need more/clean towels you should ask at the reception. Very nice restaurat at the first floor of the hotel. Don't expect 5 stars from 3 starts hotel.

  • 5/5 Daan van der S. 4 years ago on Google
Clean rooms, very helpful staff, lightning fast internet. Prices are also extremely good, especially for Bergen. Supermarket is 100 meters down the road. The restaurant inside the hotel, which is not part of the hotel, is incredible. Can not recommend enough.

+ Close to the sea & city centre by tram Convenient to tram stop and supermarket Good facilities Clean, comfortable room - Room need more hangers Slightly pricey for the amenities Neighbourhood has not many things to explore at night
