Security is very minimal. There is a short code to enter the front door and no on-site staff. The bedrooms have no locks on the doors, so all rooms are accessible to anyone in the hostel. The lockers are very small, so large bags and luggage cannot be secured. We had a concerning interaction with another guest where I was repeatedly threatened and the guest slammed some doors(after quite hours). The management said they would respond to the concern the next day. They insisted that they knew the guest and that they had no concerning history. Very disappointed. We called police to have them escort us to another place to stay. Management unwilling to provide any compensation after not helping to resolve our concern.

!!!!Please don’t make the same mistake!!!! We wanted to visit Bergen for only two days and wanted to safe some money… but even with low expectations, we were shocked!!! It’s stinks and the rooms are not very clean. Sometimes people fight and random strangers enter the hostel without permission. Better you choose for a safer and higher quality hostel! You won’t regret it

It is a good hotel, unhumaned (without reception), where the bedrooms have kitchen and private bathroom. The location is really good, 5 min from the fish market. The bedrooms are very clean and the building has lift. The entrance where you make the check in/out is not very modern. Good option, comparing with the rest of hotels in Bergen

Hallway smells like weed, once found a homeless man sitting in the hallway making a mess and trying to get into one of the rooms screaming, wouldn’t let us pass to get to our room. You get what you pay for but I don’t feel safe here

Not a very pleasant hostel. Mattresses are very thin so you basically lie on the wooden boards, which in itself are very squeaky, so if one person moves everyone notices it. Furthermore the rooms have no openable window and lack any form of air circulation, which lets the room of 8 be really smelly. The Bathrooms are clean but with 16-20 people and only two bathrooms you have to wait a bit. All together, it just about gets the job done for 1 night, but due to the fact that you cant safely store any luggage you shouldnt leave any valuable things behind if you leave the hostel

I get it it’s a budget place, but you really don’t have to make it bad on purpose Pros; centrally located, actually quite modern, good and modern bathrooms and of course the price and you Even get a towel! Cons: -they use the loudest beds I ever used, everytime you sratch yourself you have to try not to wake up the whole room -Lockers look like it’s better to just leave your stuff outside, there is no security despite a code on the front door, some lockers are broken and they are very small -you can’t open the windows (in a Room Full of people it gets really hot and sticky!) -You either have a bed which is brightened from the outside trough the window or from the emergency exit sign - look at the picture attached, that is how dark it gets, that’s the room with all lights turned off! It’s just so bright, curtains around the bed don’t cost much and would definetly help a lot! -No place to put your stuff, there are some lockers but they can barely fit a backpack, so you have to put everything on your bed - the bathrooms are fine, but there are only two. The hostel has about a capacity of 40-50 people, that’s way too few bathrooms for everyone - it’s just so noisy, the bedrooms are literally next to the kitchen with no isolation whatsoever and even though you can’t open the windows you can hear everything from the street just as if there would be no window at all Come on, this could actually be a decent cheap Place but somehow they managed to make it bad on purpose

It's all right for students I suppose. Everything you need for your stay is available in the apartment. The shared bathroom and kitchen were all right. Service manager did not fix the missing curtain after reporting, so the room was very light and people on the (very noisy) street could look into the room.

Short version: Booked a family room, got a twin room, owner wouldn't help us until I threatened with a refund on the CC. We agreed on a partial refund, which we never got. The hotel doesn't respond to any messages. You cannot call this a hotel. Customer service is non-existent. We booked a twin room, but got it changed to a family room due to being with more people. When we arrived, we got the twin room instead of the family room. We called the customer service, which gave us an extra (broken) bed that did not actually fit in the room. On the phone though, they said they would "fix the situation the next day and reach out to us". Well, they did not. When I called them to ask them if anything was arranged, he said "someone is coming". That someone was the cleaning lady who only got a text from a boss saying "some people have problems in room XX". Obviously, she could not help us. I communicated with the boss / manager later on via text, who wouldn't to my messages respond until I finally said "If nothing happens in the next 2 hours, I will charge the money back from my creditcard because this is not what we paid for". After that message, he immediately got back to me, and later on we agreed on a 60% refund (1800 NOK) so we could get out of town to rent a car and get a decent place to sleep at. After a month, no sign of a refund was there. I tried to message them, mail them but no response was given. Later on, I called them and they finally refunded me. Well.... only a small portion of the amount we agreed on. This did not cover the costs of our rental car and new hotel. As of now, the owners don't respond to any messages anymore. I wouldn't call this a complete scam, but our experience was the worst we ever had in any hotel. This doesn't deserve more than 1 star, even though it could have been 4-5 stars.

Very quiet, relaxed atmosphere, clean and comfortable. Great location w/ nice kitchen. Super value!

Very close to the city center. Rooms are a bit too small. Common kitchen and toilets. When we arrived a bed didn't have clean sheets and it was broken but they came very quickly to repair it and change the sheets.

Nice cheap hostel, not super clean but ok with the price, with people from all around the world, more or less kind

I loved my stay in this hostel! Met super friendly and open people here who gave me amazing tipps on what to do in norway, it was a perfect time. I would definitely come back. This is kinda self-service, but that concept works really well! The hostel is very clean and kept in great condition. They have two fully equipped kitchen and several modern bathrooms. The dorms are small and have no windows :( but clean and the bunk beds are even a bit comfortable:D The hostel is very centrally located and has good access to public transportation.😍 For everyone who wants go on a hike and see a stunning fjord but has to rely on public transportation with only a small budget: I recommend going to Mo i Modalen at the end of Mofjorden! Fell in love with that small village.

Terrible place. Do not go here. They stole my sons money after he made a mistake. He told them immediately but they refuse to refund.

i stayed here several times - and find it perfect. super-central, reasonable priced, clean, thoughtfully equipped, good wifi. the only thing: it's not that easy to find! if you want to avoid walking up and down the street (most likely in the rain) like an idiot (read: me) looking for house numbers: it's the same entrance as the 'victoria' pub!

The bunk bed mattresses are awful. A few inches of foam over metal bars. My room can generously be described as...efficient. Good location, but that's basically the only benefit you're paying for.

I didn't plan to stay here to be honest. We came here because we went to Bergen relatively spontaneously and couldn't get a nicer place on short notice. The location is good. There is no staff on site and the rooms are dated. Not the cleanest hotel either. Still, it is very cheap so I want to be fair. If you're looking for something affordable and your standards are not too high, this place will be for you. Otherwise book somewhere else if you can. It wasn't a nightmare experience, okay, but more than three stars wouldn't be justified.

After reading a lot of bad reviews from booking. Com, I didn’t expect much from this place. But it’s actually quite nice. This is Bergen Budget Hotel, not their hostel. It has a kitchenette, descent bathroom, the bed isn’t nice but ok to sleep. Self check in(with email received earlier) is easy and simple. It’s a relatively cheap place to stay in Bergen. It’s unfair to expect too much.

Comfortable and clean accommodation at a reasonable cost (for Norway) close to the station and center of Bergen. Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Things that could be improved is having to pay 10Kr to use the small item lockers in the rooms, not a massive amount but it is a basic service that should be included.

For one night was OK, but for a longer period I would recommend other options. Great Location , in the city center, but too many people in such a small area , little space to cook and eat comfortably. Many people waiting for a toilet or shower because they are only two in the apartment and in the same room.

Amazing place! So easy to get there, it's just around the corner from the station. It's not a brand new hostel, but it has everything you need and surprisingly the bed was so comfortable that I could not believe it, it does not look like, so it was a nice surprise :) I give them 5 stars because it's more than enough for the price! I Highly recommend it.

This little place has the potential to be a great hostel but unfortunately fails in several aspects. -Poor hot water system. Consider yourself lucky if you get a warm shower. -Dangerously shoddy bed construction. One bunk collapsed when it was climbed on and the cleaning staff present at the time were indifferent. -Unnecessary bright exit sign inside the small room. -Some beds missing personal shelves
