Get ready to get nickel and dimed at this campsite behind a highway gas station where 4 minutes of shower time cost you money (as does the laundry and dryer) and the facilities you pay for aren’t clean (see picture from the shower). Compared to other campsites, I found this to be an awful experience that I cannot recommend. The location itself is beautiful — but that’s because all of Norway is.

Quality and price are not in proportion. Camping is already expensive NOK515, shower coins have to be paid extra (NOK 15). Places along water are swampy. It takes effort to level the camper / caravan. It is a pity that there are no places along the water that are level and equipped with gravel so that you do not sink into the mud. So the most expensive camping but by far not the best.

Due to the floods all over the country we could not do our stay as planned (we had to leave our car on the road and were evacuated by helicopter, all our belongings are in the car, we are a family with 2 children, we are tourists in this country, we do not know what will come next ...). We tried to explain this situation to the host of Lone Camping by email and phone and asked for rebook/shift for some days, but there was only a short message that this should be covered by our travel insurance.... no time for sympathy, very heartless, also for others who could take the apartment during that rainy weather. Thanks al lot for nothing Unni and Henrik, a little peace of humanity at this situation would suit you well.

Facilities are quite good, Staff is friendly, that's all. I would not recommend to go there with a motorhome. It is just an expensive parking lot. You will be asked to park as close to others as possible. No nice view, no real camping atmosphere, no solution to leave this place earlier. I wouldn't go there again

We stayed here for two nights in our own tent in the end of May and absolutely loved the place. The toilets are super clean and the waterfront is the most beautiful place. There are two supermarkets 3 minutes by walk from here and multiple hiking treks.

Campsite is next to a lake which is nice. It was pretty full during August. Toilettes were clean, but showering was not the best experience. You cannot shower cold. 5min is 15kr without possibility to regulate pressure or temperature. You have to carry a door access card for toilettes, sinks etc.

If you want to check in you need to call the number at the door in front of the reception. The host is very friendly. In offseason you can choose where you want to stay. You will get a keycard to unlock the doors for the sanitary buildings. You can take a shower with warm water. Therefor you need a Chip/Coin which you can buy (15NOK for 15minutes) at the reception. There‘s also a kitchen you can use and toilets. You also have electricity. If you want to visit the city you can use the bus just infront of the camping. It takes about 40-50min. We really liked this camping and would always go back.

We had the most terrible experience. Thought it would be a great opportunity to visit Bergen city because of the local transport (90 bus) Bad idea, the busses was overfilled and full of people with bad hygene. It was a horrible, kids crying and drug addicts yelling and coverd in blood and feces... The camping was awful, cold showers and dirty toilets. Service was non existing....

Nice place to be. The lake is so beautiful. The camping is very modern, the price level good. Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay in one of the cabins. Sanitary facilities were really clean. Same for the kitchen. The TV room was the perfect opportunity for the evenings. The Wi-Fi is pretty strong and the stuff was nice and helpful. We would totally recommend this camping place. It takes 50 minutes to Bergen :)

I was there in May with my tent, I wasn’t allowed to stay near the water as they were planting the grass, pitched real close to the road and houses. Bad timing. Lots of barking dogs. Had to pay for shower

The Cabins, Linings and Towels were very clean. Beds were comfortable but it was not easy to climb in the upper Bed quietly. Very nice small Living and Dinningroom. No soap in the kitchen or bathroom. This was tiny but the shower was great. The place is real quiet and beautiful.

Stayed here as a base for visiting Bergen. We stayed in a cabin/chalet. It was more modern than the traditional cabins we’ve stayed at elsewhere but it was clean and well equipped. Also reasonable price for ‘city’ near location. We didn’t use the site as we were visiting friends in Bergen so really did just use this as a base. However the shop was very handy and fuel station too. Nice and quiet. Travelling with our 2 children and our own car.

Some of the best views in the area. Didn't stay in but just for the views is worth it.

Good facilities, clean, diesel, supermarket right outside, and the view in front of river absolutely great!

We left after trying to put our caravan on the grass area. But the grass places are so soft that you get stuck in the mud with your car or caravan.

Great campsite, stayed out of season. The showers were so clean and wonderfully hot. The owners really friendly

Good camping ground close to Bergen city (20 min drive). Nice scenery, good facilities.

Came to a very dirty cabin. Even though it was cleaned again the next day it didn’t make much difference. Kitchen corner was very nasty with super old dirt, old food and what looked like dead maggots. Tons of dust and spiderweb between the bed and the wall. Floor not cleaned properly. Chewing gum stuck to the wall. I had to pay 200 kroner when i booked this place online for them to clean the cabins themselves (might be a Covid rule). They reimbursed me the 200 kroner, but nothing else as one of the employees said that he would have no problem sleeping in a cabin that looks like this. I’ve sent the manager an email about this as well as pictures I took of the cabin. Would not recommend the cabins!!

Scenic campground situated right at a lake with view on some mountains. The sanitary building, kitchen and common room are in great shape. Pricing (for tents) is great. Decent bus connection to Bergen (ca. 45min). The staff was friendly. Two supermarkets and a gas station right around the corner.

A wonderful place😍😍😍! Low prices, clean and quiet🤗. Most campsites in Norway are close to the road, this one is an exception😊I recommend it to everyone.

300 NOK per night are on the expensive end, but okay. However, they charge you on top for literally anything. Oh, there's people in your vehicle? 15 NOK per person. Need laundry? 80 NOK for washing machine and dryer. Power? 40 NOK. And, the most amazing one: want a shower? 10 NOK, gotta walk over the whole site to the reception first. Want to leave early, and nobody told you they charge for the shower? Well bad luck, the guy selling the coins won't start before 8. Nice location at a lake, but only some of the spots actually offer lake view. If you're late, you'll be looking at trees, cabins or other campers. Sanitary rooms are spacious and clean. There seem to be some common rooms we didn't check out. In the end, you pay 300 NOK for a spot of uneven muddy grass in the middle of nowhere, everything else is a surcharge. That might be a thing elsewhere in Europe, but here in Norway, there's better and cheaper camping to be found at the roadside. It might be worth paying for some extra comfort and convenience at times, but not like this.

Super friendly and welcoming staff, with excellent advice to find our way around Lone Camping. It is within reasonable distance to Bergen. Well organised camping ground with enough space and two sanitary buildings which are well equipped and clean. Nice to have family washing rooms ;) We will definitely come here again!

Good camping! The only annoying thing is a card-lock system at every toilet & shower building and kitchen building. Not sure why it’s needed. For the rest a great place to stay!!!

What a lovely camping site. Great location at the sea. Very quiet, tidy and modern. The showers, toiletts and kitchen are very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here.

I advise everyone to visit the campsite lone. YOU WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! The personal is outrageous and unfriendly and when you want to take a shower, you have to pay for 10 Nok but you can't set your temperature and some shower have defects that means when you put in the coin, you lose your money and you can't take a shower. You have to pay for everything on this campsite as well for example for using a kanu. And when you want to visit Bergen, you have to drive one hour by public transport.

👍👍 My favourite trail among the nearby ones I tried, Ulriken and Trolltunga. Nice steepness gets you feeling your gluteus maximus contract. What makes it more appealing to me than those other trails is the walk path varies between soil, tree roots, and stone steps. Plenty of pretty views while looking...

👍👍 Very nice hiking area, with beautiful nature, but also people did nice work about arranging the waking paths, resting areas and huts. Definitely recommended to visit. Also available parking space, which is not always available around hiking areas.

👍👍 Lovely spot to watch sunset 😊 The hike doesn't take long, but it will make you sweat quite a lot. But look at the view tho, isn't it stunning?
