We stayed three nights at Skogtun Camping. The owner genuinely makes sure that the campers have everything needed, and his attentions come from the heart. The sanitaries and facilities are kept tidy at all times. The camping faces the fjord, a pontoon welcomes people to jump in or fish, while a boat is also available (with safety jacket for a few €). The common area is beautiful, pictures of the family ancestors are hanged and add to the very familiar atmosphere. The outside has lots of hidden areas to feel alone, children can play outside, several play mods are available, while the common area is also prepared for them. We felt at peace at Skogtun Camping, the highlight of our trip!

This campsite has the most amazing views! Well located, it takes around 30 minutes to reach Bergen city centre. The owners are very friendly and helpful. It was difficult to park the car near the camping spot because of muddy grass and steep gravel roads. But the amazing view makes it worth it. Make sure you pack your hiking boots because the roads are very steep! The campsite has a cosy living room where you can play board games, charge your phone or check your email. We had lovely weather but I can imagine that you'll spend some evenings here when it's raining. Most of the camping places had no electricity as far as we could see. The bathroom was a bit small for the size of this campsite and there were only two spots for doing dishes, so you might need to wait a bit sometimes. Mostly because of the views, friendly owners, clean bathroom and the overall atmosphere of the campsite, I give it five starts.

The most beautiful camping which we have seen till now! A super friendly host which made our trip unforgettable. The view is awsome and the tent-spaces are flat and super nice! We would definitely recomend this place to everyone who loves the natur!

Great place - see view with rocks, great fishing, clean toilets, showers and other camper staff, sometimes queue for shower but not more than few minutes, hot water available. Relaxed owners. Best camp before leaving Norway, but much driven by location and view itself.

We're local. And only reason we considered this camping is because we have a new trailer we wanted to stress test before leaving on a longer trip. So we could iron out issues with solutions at hand. Boy were we surprised. The camping is very tightly woven, so bigger trailers would struggle to get to the best experience. There is a large parking for those easily accessible at the very start. The camping would benefit greatly with an area map at the first building. The roads through the camping are narrow and turns are tight. Easily manageable with a 10.5m train. We even managed to get on top where the caravans are located with the best view with only a little wheel lift. We got a tip of a gravel spot down below and turned down there. The spot is so perfect that i would like to live here. We had early sun from early hours, good area for our bonfire and easy parking for the vehicle next to the wagon. We stayed for two days. Even though we are local, the view is breathtaking, facilities are good and there is no coin apparatus on the showers, wich is rare and worth a star by its own. There are extremly good placements dedicated for tents. We have not rented a hut, but talked to one guy that has rented a hut and he tells of high standards. I believe there are also glamping alternatives here. For a weekend trip, we will definetly be coming back. I will let the pictures tell the rest.

This is just about the cutest place we stayed in Norway. The owners are so friendly & the facilities are excellent. Showers are included in the price.

We were looking for a stay near Bergen and this place has the best reviews. It takes time to drive here, but it worths it (all other camping are near the road). Very quite place, a lot of space for tents. Shared facilities are clean, 2 showers for men + 2 showers for women, we didn't have to wait in the line. Showers are included in price. We arrived in the evening and paid in the morning. Price for camping is very good!

This is probably the most beautiful camping site around Bergen. They have good showers, water, a kitchen, a nice viking inspired chill room, a bathing spot at the ocean, cliffdiving and more. And the camping grounds are amazing. The Site is directly near the ocean, and from almost all places you can see it, no matter if you rent a cabin, which are cossy (no double beds avaible afik) and cheap, or a tent place or if youre going by Camper. The busconnections to Bergen are a bit rare, but pretty direct with one switch at Straume Terminal. The busses wait for each other, so you'll get your connection And the prices are very fair for norway. Thanks to the owner for the amazing stay. Oh, and i can happen that the place is pretty floodet with germans lol

We were completely amazed by this campground from the moment we arrived! The location and surrounding is simply breathtaking within the bay and lots of little islands. We really enjoyed that you can find your favourite spot for your tent/car all over the different levels the campground provides. Although you feel like you’re in wilderness, the spots are nice and flat to put your tent and car. You’re not missing out on anything: they offer using the washingmashine/Dryer, WIFI and a cosy livingroom and clean facilities. During a lovely sunny day we rented a canoe and Sognie was happy to give us beautiful recommendations where to go. By car or public bus you can get to Bergen very easily! We had a wonderful stay and you should not miss out on this campground if you are around Bergen! 11/10!!!

Nice surrounding atmosphere and friendly host. However it's not really worth the money, would get pretty much the same experience from wild camping in the area. 5 minute walk up steep muddy hill to get to the kitchens/rain cover/bathrooms. 1 Tiny kitchen and 3 bathrooms per gender shared between the whole busy campground, meaning lots of ppl waiting in the rain just to do dishes or to use the loo. Showers were clean but water pressure was not existent and went from luke warm to cold continuously. For what it is should be cheaper, would rate higher if the cost matched the quality.

Very nice campsite with friendly owners. Especially if you’re camping with a tent there are plenty of good spots. Definitely one of the best campsites we had in Norway!

I wrote a very long review explaining in detail the amount of wrong things with this campground. But my review was too long and google deleted half of it. So I will summarize. Dryer doesn't dry. We gave it four hours, then hung it in our car. Stoves take 45 mins to boil pasta water. No counter space literally anywhere. Bathroom or kitchen No hooks anywhere to hang rain clothes. No hooks! No hooks! Line up for the small kitchen area. Two bathroom sinks total unless you sneak into the men's toilets, then there are three. Unmaintained trail to the tenting area with steep sections. Dangerous with kids in the rain. Toilets are a trek all the way to the beginning. About 10-15mins with kids. No covered cooking area. You are cutting veggies etc. outside and then lining up outside, to use the stoves inside. Puddles and mud at tenting area in rain. Needs wooden platforms for tents if the ground gets this bad. Not worth the money, sorry.

Beautifull camping! Most pretty one I have seen in Norway! :) Only 25 minutes from Bergen. They have a nice livingroom and also is there a little kitchen where you can cook and do the dishes. There is only one shower for ladies and one for men, but that’s the only bad thing.

This place is incredibly beautiful! It’s situated right along the ocean, and the views are splendid. The campground is looks even better in person than in pictures! Also, the man who welcomed us was very very friendly. Completely worth the journey!

Nice view on the sea, but that's it. Definitely not enough facilities (2-3 WC and 2 showers with no hot water, sinks are clogges) for the whole camping which is quite big.

Indeed one of the best camping spots on Earth. Very friendly staff and an amazing view. Make sure to catch the sunset at Algrøy vyhlídka too :)

Pros: - extreme friendly owners, really caring and loving - awesome views - good bus connection to Bergen city - clean and spacious - family friendly Cons: - too less toilets and showers - depending on the exact spot you're camped at, the way to the sanitary very far and even more steep! - when the weather is bad, you really need some off-road skills / off-road vehicles I can recommend this place for young campers, but I can't imagine, you're enjoying the stay if you're quite old or having problems with distances / steep ways. Also please check the upcoming weather and choose your spot depending on the forecast. And as the owners show on the shield at the entrance, you really should park the car at the beginning and walk over the place to choose the spot and check out everything.
