While the people were nice, we did not have a good experience at the farm. We reserved and confirmed a two hour horse riding tour only for us to show up and find they never booked the tour in their system. They tried to be accommodating (which we appreciate) and offered us a 30 minute lesson, which would have been expensive. We were willing to pay their expensive prices for a beautiful tour, but not a lesson we did not want. They eventually offered us a 1 hour ride, which we accepted. However, after spending a good amount of time getting the horses ready, the horses refused to walk and they had to cancel the tour. I understand that this is not the farm’s fault, but I have never experienced horses flat out refusing to walk before. I am an experienced rider and ridden on many different horses before, and I have never had horse refuse to go with the simple walk command. Overall, we are incredibly disappointed with our experience here and would not return.

We visited the farm as part of a tour. The owner was so nice, we learned a bit about Norwegian tradition and had some amazing homemade cakes, cookies and juice. We felt very welcome and even got to pet some of the friendly sheep

Minutes from Bergen City Center. Visited this farm as part of Viking Cruises optional excursions. This family owned and run farm, was such a nice and informative experience where the Owner personally excorted our group around, showing and letting us feed and experience the herding of the sheep by their sheep dog and farm family. Also, he introduced us to 2 pair of horses/ponies they have tried breeding on the farm. The Owner and his girls treated us all to a wonderful snack, traditional Norwegian costumes, conversation and a piano piece played by the Owner. He explained the economics of running a farm and living in Norway. Felt as though we were part of an extended family. Very relaxing setting and a suggested venue to visit while in Bergen Norway.

Had an amazing horseback riding trip that was the most memorable part of our trip to Bergen! Our guide, Arild, was AMAZING! She personalized the ride for our ability and was able to show us different parts of Bergen. My little sister and I are avid horseback riders and we were looking for something different than the "nose to tail" trail ride that you typically find on vacations, and Ovre-EIde Farm was just that! We went on a private ride on 2 of the cutest little Norwegian Fjord ponies and saw some stunning views of Bergen. The weather was a little rainy, but the farm provided us with some great rain gear so it did not negatively impact the experience at all. The horses are clearly well taken care of and everyone at the farm was welcoming. If I ever end up back in Bergen, the first thing that I will book is another riding adventure with Ovre-Eide!

We had an excellent visit to Ovre-Eide Farm where we had a baking class. Julia and our guide Marian did a great job of instructing us and helping with our preparations. They set up a table to try what we had baked along with hot chocolate. Very nice spending time with them and the traditional outfits presentation by the farm owner himself. We would recommend this tour to anyone.

Great 5 Starr excursion in Bergen Norway off the Viking Venus. Family operation. Animals, history, treats and couple surprises. Well worth the time and cost.

It was an interesting tour of the farm , with a sharing of the history of the farm, their ponies, lamb, and challenges faced by the Norwegian farmer. We had a Norwegian dinner comprised of local produce and tarts baked by the owner. Alas! The owner is really talented as he managed the farms, baked and even played a piece by Edward Greg. Highly recommended if you are visiting Bergen (Norway)

Idyllic family farm outside Bergen, Norway. Set on the side of a fjord, raising sheep and chickens and horses. Provided wonderful sweet treats and a taste of music and dance.

I can't say enough nice things about our time here. The scenery was gorgeous before you ever sit in the saddle. Once on the ride, the horses were very pleasant, the saddle was comfortable, and the ride (and the views) was spectacular. Our guide was beyond friendly and offered lots on insight into the horses and the local area. Afterwards, you have to try to cookies and local raspberry juice. A definite highlight from our trip to Bergen. Taking the bus gets you within a 6-8 minute walk to the farm (if you want to save a few bucks on the travel to the location).

This is one of the nicest places, in the nicest country, and I met the nicest people. It is a very small farm run by a peaceful and ernest gentleman. The whole place is steeped in history and culture. The family love their country and their farm. Despite what Paul Hollywood said, it is not in the mountains, but 5 minutes from Bergen, however there is a steep hill between the two so it might as well be 50 miles away. We had such a lovely time, were well looked after by wonderful people. The memory of this visit will stay with me and give me peace for many years to come.

FABULOUS experience here! I came in on a cruise ship and booked a private horseback ride very last-minute. The owner and staff were very accommodating, and the horse (a Norwegian fjord named Tia) was fit and ready to go. My borrowed helmet and Tia's tack were comfortable, Toné was a fabulous guide, the trail was beautiful, the ride was exhilarating and the experience was everything I was looking for. I even signed up for juice and pastries afterwards, and got to snuggle a sheep. TEN STARS WHAT A GREAT TIME. I will absolutely come here again. 🩷

Went here for a tour and dinner on a travel tour of Scandinavia, and it was one of my favorite experiences. The food was wonderful, the farm itself and it's many animals were fantastic, everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming. It was an incredibly unique and very enjoyable experience.

The chef should be honored for what he served. Regreting that we did not take pictures for each serving was beautifully changed. (Original) Var gjest i selskap på Øvre-Eide gård. (Translated by Google) Impressive and beautiful courtyard and surrounding delights. It is possible to see that there is someone here who has an eye for what it takes to create the environment and the whole. Well-groomed horses and lively little lambs completed the peasant romance. The café is a great initiative in these difficult times. Nice and professional service. Good food. We will be back soon. God mat. Vi kommer snart tilbake.
