This was one of the best zoos I’ve been to. Unfortunately, all of the amusement parts were closed when we went, so I can’t review that. The attention to detail in the zoo was magnificent. Every single little detail was planned. No stone left unturned. There were little decorations everywhere and lots of little secrets for kids to find. But the best part was the playgrounds. If you live nearby, absolutely get a yearly pass and take the kids often. The animals may get boring after awhile, but the playground will not. My husband and I who don’t have kids even enjoyed playing at the various playgrounds and going through the primate obstacle course.

(Translated by Google) The park is fantastic for both big and small! Good infection control, we got antibac for every thing we took / went into and there were good queuing arrangements with rings that families stood in. But otherwise people could not keep one meter distance unfortunately, few who cared. The employees, on the other hand, deserve a lot of praise! 🙏

(Translated by Google) It is great place with many people and traveling tourist who visit most in the summer months. It is a combined expensive and amusement park outside Kristiansand, people like the place with easier access and several shopping and business centers nearby. The park is developing to become the second most visited tourist attraction in Norway.

We have driven all the way from Stavanger with my family. I must say we all had such a memorable time at this place. I would suggest to go to the water theme park first and later to the zoo. In between you can spend some time at the game park. In general we spend most of our time at the water park. But the kids loved the game park the most! The game park is very much for children. But at the water theme park adults could also find there own way to find fun!! About the zoo, we were bit tired by the time and you should be lucky enough to see all the animals and birds with a good view as they could be lying somewhere behind the bush or hiding behind the trees. But if you check the timings well before you visit the zoo, you could go for the animal feeding session which is a bit interesting. We did this with the lion and cheetah. It woul be really nice if you could spend two days and explore the zoo and fun park. In fact you could join the trucking session. If you need to buy a meal inside the park you need to order through the 'app' which I personally still doesn't know which 'app' it is. But you can buy snacks and drinks any time from any of the kiosk or from the drinks dispenser machine. Overall we had a quite nice and memorable day at the park!!

home to hundreds of zoological parks, Short of heading out into the world's wild places, nothing beats a visit to the zoo to foster an appreciation for the striking animal diversity of our planet.

Amazing and lovely. Best zoo in the entire world, lots of animals and exhibits surrounded by beautiful forestry and flowers. Haunted house, log ride, petting zoo, bobsled, play with monkeys exhibit, and tons of other stuff to do. Recommend getting there early to get good parking and have time to see everything.

Really good zoo, with lots of varied exhibits. The wild animals of Norway was a firm favourite. We went out of the summer season so it was cheaper but lots of the shops and cafes were closed. However this meant it was very quiet! You can get up close to the giraffes which is really cool. The map isn't that good, and the app doesn't show you where you are.

The best of all 😍 I so love the place though it rains during my visit but it’s amazingly beautiful. Everything is just a wow. If you have kids , consider this and if you don’t have visit it with your friends or family. You’ll love the place . One day wouldn’t be enough because they have shows going on that you should never miss 😍 These photos are just a little of what the Amusement park offers !

As a proud resident of Kristiansand, I am truly grateful to live in such a remarkable city. The qualities that make Kristiansand a popular tourist destination also make it an exceptional place to reside. Every day, I am reminded of the countless reasons why this city holds a special place in my heart. One of the aspects that make Kristiansand so appealing is its natural beauty. Living here means being surrounded by picturesque landscapes, from the stunning coastline to the lush green forests that envelop the city. The proximity to the sea offers endless opportunities for outdoor activities such as swimming, sailing, and fishing. Whether it's taking a leisurely walk along the beaches or exploring the nearby hiking trails, the natural wonders of Kristiansand are always within reach. The community spirit in Kristiansand is truly remarkable. The locals here are known for their warm and welcoming nature. It's a tight-knit community where people genuinely care for one another. I've had the pleasure of getting involved in various local events and festivals, and the sense of unity and pride is truly inspiring. The city's rich history and culture are celebrated through these gatherings, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that fosters a strong sense of belonging. Kristiansand also boasts excellent infrastructure and amenities. The city is well-planned, offering a wide range of facilities, including schools, hospitals, shopping centers, and recreational spaces. The efficient public transportation system makes commuting a breeze, and the city's commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly initiatives is commendable. Another highlight of living in Kristiansand is the diverse range of cultural and entertainment options available. The city hosts numerous festivals, concerts, and art exhibitions throughout the year, catering to a wide range of interests. From exploring the exhibits at the Kristiansand Museum to enjoying live performances at the Kilden Performing Arts Center, there is always something exciting happening in the city. In conclusion, as a resident, I couldn't be happier to call Kristiansand my home. Its natural beauty, welcoming community, excellent infrastructure, and vibrant cultural scene make it an extraordinary place to live. Kristiansand truly captures the essence of Norway's charm and is a city that never fails to inspire and delight.

It was reeeally nice! After visiting Madrid's zoo i was a little bit scared this would be the same...but you can see the animals are well taken care off! It is also a lot of fun to find some attractions inside dyreparken! We had no kids with us and we enjoyed there every second :)

Really fun, and lots of different things to see! We went with our 1.5 year old and he was amused by everything, but I think slightly older kids will like it more. Pretty expensive tickets. 4 stars because all of the food in the park was terrible and horribly overpriced 😅 except the cinnamon buns in Kardemomme By, those were delicious! If you can I recommend bringing in your own lunch and snacks. Compared to American theme parks that I’m used to, Dyreparken was really chill and had lots of nice walking paths. It didn’t feel overly commercialized to me, but Norwegians opinions may differ :)

An expansive park offers a plethora of attractions. It strikes a fine balance between a zoo, showcasing a diverse array of animals, and a town with a swashbuckling pirate theme. Visitors can marvel at exotic creatures from around the globe, such as lions, tigers, and giraffes. The park also has an excellent app. However, when we visited near the end of August, nearly all the restaurants had closed. Although a few stands were vending hot dogs, the one my daughter and I queued at had already run out by the time we reached the cashier. Would expect a park of this size would have kept its restaurants open until the end of august at least, especially since we paid a ‘high’ season fee to enter the park. Speaking of gluten-free options, I must admit to some disappointment, but there's potential for improvement.

Great place, must to visit. A huge park with lot to watch and entertain. Prepare for long wait, because of Cov restrictions. Very expensive hotels in Kristiansand,,,3 times more expensive than very good hotels in Stavanger and Bergen.

A great Zoo! A lot of different animals and easy to navigate. We didn't get to experience most of the other activities, but we didn't go in the summer season to be fair. But overall a good experience with the park. If you are in Kristiansand, give it a visit.

Quite busy, parking a bit of a walk and getting between animals was also straining on the leg's. Smiling and helpfull staff and lovely to be able to wall between continent's and some of Thorbjørn Egners fantasy world. Definitely worth the visit with the kids.

  • 4/5 Anthony G. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent experience for all the family. Many animals that you can actually see and interact with in the farm areas. The food is very standard and expensive, I would recommend pack lunch and lots of water.

  • 5/5 Mikkel Pedersen K. 8 months ago on Google
We were there around peak season but not during a weekend. We only visited the animal park and not the water park. Very good parking areas and easy entrance to the park itself. Lots of different activities, shows, and things to see. We experienced little queue for most things. There were something for most ages and also a nice variety of animals from different continents. For some of the activities understanding Norwegian is recommended though. It's however quite expensive, both to gain entrance and for most consumables. I'd recommend spending more than a day there.

Interesting and entairtaining place. Zoo connected with lunapark. In the end, it is a large area zoo with not many animals and just a couple of slides and rollercosters. In relation to norwegian realities, it is a big place, but not very big when related to the rest of Europe. It's worth visiting when in the area, but I would rather skip it when should drive for a couple of hours. Usefull phone app helps with navigation within the area as well as purchases.

  • 4/5 Diana E. 2 years ago on Google
We liked our visit. But huge queues at all the main attractions, even early in the morning. I must say it.s a bit dissapointing that there are a lot of food stals, but all serve the same kind of unhealthy food: pizza, burgers and fries and so on. If you have to spend the whole day there, I.d suggest packing some food if the option exists. Having a 3yo we spent 4 hrs only wandering about the zoo area. But it will take a day if you want to go on rides and enter the waterpark.

  • 4/5 Glenn A. B. 9 months ago on Google
Good sized zoo with a decent mix of animals and some fun activities. I recommend looking up the stories some of the attractions are based on beforehand if you want the full experience. All the signs and animal presentations are in Norwegian. Plan on spending one or two days.

  • 3/5 Erika C. 10 months ago on Google
Totally unexpected. Disney model in Norway!! Wonderful Hotel just next door to the entrance + 6more themes ro choose from. Unfortunately the beds for the kids need to update to a bit larger size as kids this days are much taller. Not the place to take a rest after some pool/park time and tennis matches. We are definitely planning a second visit. But with more time and more bed room to enjoy and rest properly.

Tante Sofie, one of the characters in Kardemommeby, should probably be hired to get the park in shape. Right now it seems that Kasper, Jesper and Jonathan is running the business. 5/5: actors and gardeners. Great work, guys! 3/5: pricey 2/5: queues, cleanliness, wear and tear. The first attraction we arrived to (SvampeBob) had trash lying around from the day before, non working screens and generally gave a bad impression. 50 mins in queue at 0845 in the morning. The apparent lack of effort in keeping the park clean and maintained increased during the day, see e.g., the Thorbjørn Egner picture.

Parking space is a bit limited so arrive early or carpool. We visited during autumn break so it was a but crowded but still very little waiting time for the rides and activities. The kids had lots of fun. Didn't get to see alot of the nordic animals though😪. They were hiding from the crowd.

  • 5/5 David van der H. 1 year ago on Google

Det er ikke anbefalt å dra i parken utenom høysesong. Det aller meste var stengt eller ute av drift. Det hindret ikke billettørene å kreve 309,- pr. pers for å se to løver og en ape. Bruk pengene et annet sted!

(Translated by Google) This is the 4th summer we visit Kristiansand Zoo and it is as exciting, fun, educational and entertaining as the first time. It is a large park with many attractions, so one day is not enough, it is better to take plenty of time and an extra day. We enjoy ourselves in the zoo, both large and small, there is something for all age groups. The water park is a good alternative after a long and hot day in the zoo. Here you can cool off while having fun with water attractions for the whole family.

Great place for adults visiting alone, or with older children. Loads of things to see and experience, but for us who came with two children under 2 years old, we were somewhat limited. Also, the park is not nearly as flat as the map makes it seem. All roads up to Hakkebakkeskogen and Kutoppen are crazy steep, and go on forever. You'll look like a pro cyclist after a few days of pushing prams up those hills.

Love the show Kaptein Sabeltan. The food tastes really good, and all the staff in the whole amusement park are truly great on each roles for accomodating their guests 👍

Great fun for kids. Plays a huge part of Norwegian Upbringing and gives homage to many renowned Norwegian authors. Out of season it might seem a bit dead, bit the zoo is lovely. Animals seem in great shape, especially the Lions look impressive. Nice, enormous area for Norwegian Wildlife, you'll be lucky if you see a Wolf ;) In season there are several Plays . Live action plays happening while you are there. They built Kardemomme City, and the play goes on while you visit. A great experience. Has some simple , classical, amusement park rides. But should not be understood as a regular amusement park with several "Rides" . A diverse experience, with a bit of everything for a reasonable price, taking into account what you get in return.

A beautiful zoo! It's popularity speaks for its quality. Quite overrun, so be prepared for waiting at the most attractive places, but enjoy free roaming throughout this amazing territory. They really do take care of the well-being of the animals. We enjoyed a late afternoon (4 to 8 pm) for two people (aged 27-28), while many of the attractions clearly are aimed at a younger generation.

In addition to the zoo, there is also an amusement park with cardamom town, kjuttaviga with Captain Sabertooth and water park to name a few. Think it is a bit expensive to get in then especially for tourists who only visit the park once. But can buy season or annual passes and group discounts. And then it will not be so wrong. Highly recommend a fantastic park (Original) Kristiansand Dyrepark er vel en av de største turistattraksjoner vi har her på sørlandet. 👍 On the expensive side, but can spend ages there. We went without kids and still had loads of fun. Sadly 2 of the water slides were closed, but the diving boards were great, with lots of different heights (up to 10m!). The rapid river was also really fun, if a bit scary! Nice selection of quieter bit...

👍👍 Beautiful church in the heart of Kristiansand. The entrance fee is worth it. When we were inside, we were lucky enough to attend a small concert. Such acoustics in such a church is something special. But even without a concert, you can take a look inside and maybe pause for a moment.

👍 Entrance is free and the fortress confers a really good view of the harbour. There are several small canons to look at and if you are strolling around the city there is no nicer place to visit.
