We enjoyed our first taste of Eritrean cuisine in this charming restaurant, where the staff were delighted to see a couple of foreigners eager to try their ethnic food. We're vegan, and happily they had plenty of vegan choices, but of course there are meat dishes too if that's your thing. Heartily recommend checking them out.

If you’re craving Ethiopian food, this place is worth a stop! Staff was very friendly and made recommendations. Prices are decent for Norway! The injera bread was done very well, and the spicy beef and chicken was VERY good! This portion was great for 2-3 people!

I believe this was my first time ever having African cuisine and it was very good. I got a vegetarian option that included a variety of different things, all of which were flavourful, though one item was too spicy for me. I tried some of my husband’s beef and it was also very tasty, but slightly chewy. The injera was novel to me and unexpectedly sour, but quite alright. The server demonstrated to us with his own little plate how to eat with our hands, as no cutlery was provided. The restaurant was a bit dim and dark, and it would have been nice to have a wet wipe after the meal, but it was definitely a new experience and I’m glad we came. I would recommend giving this place a try.

Awesome service, customizable menu, big portions for the price and delicious food. The service is outstanding and is keen to feed (you and) your curiosity. Whatever you order is very customizable and tasty, the server is there to help you with your preferences. It's a unique experience to eat with your hands, but it felt very natural with this type of food. Unlike you'd expect, the atmosphere is very chill as opposed to a savannah. The dessert was ok. Though the waiting time can be long, you'll be served popcorn at the end.

Just has a meal at Savanna Restaurant. As I am very familiar with the cuisine, I can tell this is one of the best, if not the best. The selection variety, the atmosphere, and the staff are all in perfect shape. Feels like home or family. I had the pleasure to be served by Terry, she is an amazing host and so friendly. She added positivity to the experience. Thank you Terry, warm regards 🌷 Ahmed

Exceptional food, great atmosphere, very warm and welcoming staff. A must try if you love food and if you haven’t tried Ethiopian food this should be the first place you do so!

A very friendly relaxed place with good service and good food. Our first taste of Eritrean and Ethiopian food was delicious. We shared the savanna platter and enjoyed all the different flavours scooped up with the pancake/bread. All gluten free which made for a huge choice. Excellent value too. Thank you so much.

Came with a friend for dinner. The lady boss was very friendly and gave us some recommendations and taught us how to enjoy the food, since it was our first time eating Ethiopian cuisine. We ordered the lamp and beef tibs, and some local hansa beer. Food was really good and I suppose it is rather authentic as we saw some African dinners in the restaurant enjoying the food as well.

We had never tried Ethiopian food before, but this place was close to our hotel so… why not? It was a great choice. We explained our ignorance of the menu to Kasse, and she gave us several recommendations. She even showed us how to eat it, (no forks!) when she brought the food. We had lamb, two types of beef, a wide assortment of sides, all on one huge platter to share. it was all amazing, and a wonderful introduction to Ethiopian cooking.

We were so excited to try this restaurant but unfortunately were disappointed. The staff were really friendly and polite, however the let down was the food. It was really bland and after about 5 mins of eating we decided it wasn't for us.

Even though service was a tad slow, we had wonderful food and a great evening at Savanna. Just enough spice and just enough filling for our stomachs. The traditional coffee was also lovely.

Had a brilliant first experience of Ethiopian cuisine at Savanna. Flavoursome (if a little spicy!), good value and just a fun experience and break from the norm. And our hostess, Terri, was excellent - Michelin restaurants could learn a thing or two from her!

After having lots of seafood during our trip, we wanted to try something different and happened across Savanna. We went with the recommended mixed plate, and it did not disappoint. Our server was a delight! Thanks so much for a delicious meal, all the recommendations were excellent and the staff were super friendly. If we lived closer we would be regulars for sure!

I tried the Vegeterian variety of dishes here and it was amazing. This is the first time I was trying Ethiopian food and the food was really flavourful and filling. The folks at the restaurant were very welcoming and friendly. The ambiance is nice too! I certainly recommend eating here and I would visit again whenever I am in Bergen.

We had a wonderful evening at the Savannah Restaurant! We ordered the Abi Special and it was really great. Every single one of the various dishes on the big plate tasted great. And the staff is amazing as well. I can recommend it to everyone and if we ever return to Bergen we will eat here again!

Ambience and service - 5/5 Food - 3/5 The veg part in the dish was good but the lamb was chewy and not good at all. The roll(not sure what's it's called), it's too fermented and tasted sore. Overall, It's an ok experience to have Ethiopian cusine :)

Everything was good, except someone probably chopped an onion on the kitchen, and our eyes were very itchy.
