What an amazing view of Bergen from the top. Cost isn't terribly expensive, around $8 US. The car leaves around every 5 or so minutes, so there is very little waiting. Once at the top, tou get an amazing, unobstructed view of practically all of Bergen. There is a small shop, 2 restaurants, play areas, some trails, and even a lake up there. We chose to walk back down. Its on a wide, gravel road, so its not too bad and there are some cool places to get some other shots of the city. Highly recommend.

Highlight of our trip to Bergen! Definitely go early though. We went at 8 am before the crowds and had the whole observation deck to ourselves before setting off on a hike. When we came down at around 11 the line to purchase tickets wrapped around the block! Purchasing tickets was quick and easy at the kiosk as well.

Going with this small mountain train is a must! From the top of the mountain you’ll see a million dollar view. If you’re fortunate you’ll be in Bergen in a sunny day. Unfortunately the weather during our trip was rainy and cloudy, but we could enjoy the majestic view at the whole city, the sea and the nearby mountains for few minutes before a storm started. It’s extremely satisfying. This place is part of my top 3 attractions in Bergen.

Totally worth the fun ride up! You can buy tickets online or at the kiosks at the base of the funicular. Cost is about $15 for adults for a round trip. Lovely cafe up top, goats roaming the mountain, and little hike. Super cool views of Bergen from the top as well! There are children's play structures, goats, and other interesting finds up top.

Very scenic & beautiful views from the top station. Beautiful nature with natural lake at the top. Very sad & unfortunate experience of shopping malls & soveirigen shops don’t give stamp & proper documents for the refund of tax for foreign national. So be careful to get stamp on the bills & receipts for tax refund.

Such a nice place to take a stroll or an exercise. Fun for everyone. Beautiful view of the city as you walk up. Worth going.

Taking the train up to the viewpoint is absolutely worth it. The train and train station is very modern and I would recommend a one-way ticket. The walk down (back the valley station) will just take 30-45 minutes and opens up wonderful views over Bergen. The lookout on top is amazing and you can even start hiking tours and explore the nature much further. Worth the money, very easy to reach from the city center and 100% convenient also if you only stay a short time in Bergen.

This turned out to be the best attraction in Bergen. It takes about 6 minutes to reach top in a beautiful Funicular ride. It was cloudy and cold when we reached the top which added to its charm. The view from top of Bergen and surrounding places was breath taking. We walked around a lot in a picturesque ambiance. There was a hiking path to go to Mount Ulriken for adventure sekers. It was very nice to see the goats over here. We had some coffee in the restaurant while enjoying mother nature. It's open from May to September. Not to be missed when in Bergen...

A must place to visit when in Bergen, even when in Norway. 🥳🥰 It's beautiful, a great start to start a mountain trek for the whole family, or run the 13km trail across to Mount Ulriken (takes about 1.5hrs).

An interesting experience, standing straight but moving up with a 26° angle. The ride is definitely worth it, because the view at the top is spectacular. Definitely a must do in Bergen.

We took the tram on a rainy and windy day, unfortunately, but it was still a cool experience in Bergen. Took us to a great overview of the city, which we enjoyed for a few minutes before the clouds moved in and obstructed the whole view. We moved indoors to the shop at the top where we ended up buying raincoats, which turned out to be the best investment we made on the trip! There’s a park for kids as well and nature trails, which we skipped due to the poor weather. I’d recommend it, especially on a nicer day, although it’s a bit on the pricier side

Beautiful views from top of Bergen city and fjord. Nice restaurant to have a beer 🍺 and enjoy the view. Plus, who knew there were goats on top of the hill !!! 🐐 🐐

Very nice view of Bergen, it has great facilities (restaurant, cafe, toilets), including a playground for kids, which our 4 year old loved! You can see goats all around the area, eating grass and mixing with people! The funicular journey itself is spectacular, definitely worth it!

One of the best relaxing attractions in Bergen. It took awhile to get up to the park but once we were up there it was very beautiful and nice. 10/10 recommend you definitely need to come here if your visiting Bergen.

If you have not seen the city from the top. It’s a nice place to explore. If you are with kids they will enjoy the top. They have lots of play area for kids and sheep’s. Lots of path for hiking with restaurants on the top. It’s only 2.5 km from the top so you can easily walk down while cooking by seeing nice views of the city.

I took multiple trips up and down the Fløibanen during my visit to Bergen. It’s about €20 for each return trip, and totally worth the view and experience at the top of Mount Fløyen. Highly recommend to go at least once before sunset and once early morning when it first opens.

We went on an absolutely beautiful day. Our son loved the playground at the top. We enjoyed the amazing views and hiking to one of the peaceful lakes up top. We paid to take it up and then walked down. It was a very lovely walk through the woods down, although a little steep in some parts.

The funicular to top is really nice. There are a few ticket machines from which tickets can be bought Using the Bergen card you get 50% off. A good amount of time can be spent at top of the mountain. Good view.

This is a wonderful experience for young and old.👶👴👵 It begins with a short train ride to the top. Once there the views are breathtaking. You can see and fall in love with Bergen's true beauty. They've done a great job with the entire setup. They have gift shops, restaurants and a hotel being renovated at the top as well as trails for jogging, walking and just enjoying the beauty of nature. Children will love the goats that roam around freely as well as both locals and tourists walking their dogs. The nature trail is paved but you can go off the trail and enjoy a hike to the bottom instead of returning on the train ride down. Well worth the few bucks to enjoy a quick trip or an all day tour of nature.👍❤

Well, what can I say- great view over Bergen from here. I only regret that i didn't have the time and preparation to do a hike there. I took the funicular which is like super easy and fast and enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets ever!

Loved the views! The ride in the Floibanen funicular was about 10 minutes and there's a few stops along the way. Loved it so much I went twice. I'd make sure to go in the day and especially at night. Once you get to the top there's a small tourist shop with some cool items. There's a restaurant as well but I didnt visit it. And when you are taking pictures look for the goats on the mountain. That was a cool surprise.

The fløibanen is Bergen is a great way to head up to the mountain top restaurant and viewing point. The Fløibanen is well maintained and quite modern with large glass panels which show the view as you head up. The only issue with the trip is that it was quite expensive for the short 2 minute ride up the mountain. However the views are spectacular and it’s a great little hike when your at the top. It’s definitely worth doing.

This is a must try if you're in Bergen. The funicular was great, it was a smooth ride to the top for a very nominal price. There is so much to do once you're at the top, there's a lot of scenic viewing and picture spots, a huge playground for the kids, souvenir shops, mountain goats, hiking trails, and even a troll themed forest. This was definitely my favourite part of Bergen!

I went to the top two different days. One day I took the tram and the other time, I hiked up and down. Both were beautiful, but the hike through the forest is stunning. It is not too difficult, and as long as you don't have any mobility issues, almost anyone can do it. It took me about an hour and a 1/2 because I did stop a lot to enjoy the views and take pictures. There is a proper hard packed gravel path with frequent switchbacks the way to the top and plenty of benches available if you need a rest. I even saw people pushing baby carriages. The views from the top are beautiful and there is a nice little cafe as well as a playground and troll forest for the children. I would highly recommend this activity, however you have to get there.

One of those spots you have to visit if you are touring Bergen. The views of the city and water are spectacular. If you have the opportunity to go at sunset, don't miss it! Tickets for the ride up and down can be purchased online or at the station.

Great views of Bergen! Reasonably priced, we took it up one way and walked back down. Tons of space at the top to get different views. Very kid friendly with a play park and Troll village. Cafe, restaurant and shop up top as well.

One of the best things to go do in Bergen. The view from the top is excellent. There is a kids play ground and troll park at the top to keep the kids entertained. Even when the queue to go up is long (around lunch time) it moves quickly and you don't actually have to wait long. The Bergen pass is really useful with this as it gives you half price tickets.

  • 5/5 David T. 2 years ago on Google
So worth it! You might have to wait a little in a long line but it‘s a must do when in Bergen. The ride up is beautiful and surprisingly short and it‘s also quite inexpensive for something so awesome.

    - Quick ride to the top - Great views from there, things to do for kids, options to eat and shop and few hiking options. - I suggest take one way ticket to top and then walk down. (Remember it is a bit steep) - Slightly expensive - Long queues, bit chaotic, buy tickets before
