This place is just outright adorable. The aroma alone is reason to go! It's a decent price for entry and an easy location to get to although the entrance is a little hidden. It's down the stairs underneath the main stairs that lead into the big building.

Great project. Different organizations and families are contributing with their gingerbread houses during late October every year. Houses er set up with lights and small details and together make a small and lively city. They are usually open from 25-26 of November until Christmas. There are 4-5 tables to sit sit and have a cookie and a drink and a wide slide for kids and grown-ups :)

Very cute. Great for kids. A bit overpriced for adults. It's an adorable recreation of the city in gingerbread form done by children. Always funny things hiding in the buildings.

Hard gingerbread biscuits (pepperkaker) are a treat thought to originate in England, similar to the Lebkuchen and Pfefferkuchen of Germany. Pepperkakehus building is a beautiful modern Yuletide activity. The scope of Pepperkakebyen is incredible. It reminds me of world record breaking ice sculptures or sandcastles. I wish every child could come visit this place at Christmas.

One of our main reasons for coming this Christmas was to see the gingerbread city. And it’s an amazing feat when you give it thought. The locals contribute to the creation of this city, there’s lots of humour chucked in, but ultimately it truly holds the spirit of Christmas.

Very cute gingerbread town. You can find a miniature Bergen city in there and you can write/draw a little note at the end of the visit. It's very calming and enjoyable to watch the lit up gingerbread town as well as the kids playing on the huge slide next to the main exhibition area.

The Gingerbread Town also known as Pepperkakebyen was such a cute way to spend an hour or two. Local schools, businesses and residents have created a huge copy of Bergen (within reason) out of gingerbread. At 100 NOK each entry (£7.50) it’s not the cheapest but it’s wonderful to see the community spirit. It’s the worlds largest Gingerbread town and back in 2009 someone broke in and smashed the lot of them which so heartbreaking for all involved.

The world’s largest gingerbread town. Every year hundreds of people come together to prepare gingerbread houses and other buildings for the gingerbread town to bring julestemning to visitors from near and far. Bergen can be dark and gloomy in winter, but this magical town can warm your heart in the cold winter season. Open annually until December 31st.

If you are in Bergen during December, or live here, this is a must. Lovely thing to do with family and friends. Especially if you have time, and can prepare and submit your own gingerbread house. Such a fun,and kids love it.

It's amazing that they built an entire town out of cookies. It is made by adults and children from the city of Bergen. The truth is that it is worth seeing once in a lifetime.
